Canadians living in New York. Our family has spent the last 4 (!) years restoring this 200 year old farmhouse in the Catskills. We've filled it with vintage finds and reclaimed materials. We're excited to share it with you.

Why Geoffrey MacDougall chose Roxbury

We were lured to the Catskills for its hiking trails, amazing restaurants, and pastoral farmers markets. Our passion for design and DIY led us to take on a the challenge of restoring a 200yo farm house tucked in the corner of 4+ mountain acres, with our own private meadow and woods. Roxbury's small-town charm and rural character are displayed around every corner, which is best visible on Main Street, offering a enjoyable mix of historic homes framed by towering trees. Its architectural landscape is little changed since the 19th century, providing a relaxing escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of the big city crowds. We must also mention the pastoral Denver/Vega Valley, where a county road winds through a series of historic farmhouses and contemporary homes — lovingly tucked among the hillsides. The valley's farming roots are easily noticeable, as are the awe-inspiring distant mountain vistas. The prominent Catskills mountains provide an abundance of ways in which nature can be experienced. Exciting and picturesque hiking, biking, golf, and skiing can all be relished within the township. Roxbury is also a perfect place for travelers who prefer sitting on a porch and watching the world go by or gazing at the starry sky—at a restful pace.
