Would definitely stay here again! A lovely property and the cozy suite suited our needs perfectly. The hosts were welcoming and we certainly felt at home.
Linda was a great host with very prompt responses. The property location was very close to historic downtown. We greatly enjoyed the serenity and beauty of the gardens.
Perfect, cozy haven a few blocks from beautiful downtown Summerville. The grounds are gorgeous and the home is quiet and very charming. Thank you for your kind words! So glad you enjoyed Linwood :)
Over all we enjoyed our stay. We were somewhat surprised by the small space. Could have used a second comfortable chair as the rocker was pretty but not at all comfortable. Also there was no hot water to the bathroom sink. We appreciated Linda's caring attitude with us and the other guests that included prayer. Enjoyed the pool and property very much. Gorgeous!
Linda and Enola were wonderful hosts. Everything was just as I expected and more so. It was a lovely touch when we arrived to find the welcome coffee and bread! The grounds were beautiful and we will be back at a later time of the year next time so we can experience them in full bloom.
The grounds were beautiful. The house was a historical treasure and reminded me of the home I grew up in. The king bed was a dream and the train whistling in the night was charming.
The resident cat, Mr. Earl Grey won my heart and he is quite welcoming.
I loved the location and everything about my stay.

We are always thankful to our guests who take the time to write a nice review. So many are in transition as they find new homes in this beautiful, Carolina area. It is our pleasure to offer hospitality to meet their needs and even delight them with the offerings of LINWOOD, Historic Home and Gardens which is so conveniently located near new communities.
Excellent place for travel nurses. Amazing gardens and pool area. Great hosts. Within twenty minutes to Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital. Definitely will stay again at this place if needed.
My husband and I traveled to Linwood to escape the cruel Indiana winter and to visit my daughter who lives in the vicinity. What we didn’t expect was to find the most beautiful, relaxing vacation spot we have ever experienced. We are definitely planning a return trip thanks to our gracious hosts and their oh so efficient property manager. Thanks once again Linda,Peter, and Enola!

We are thankful when guests in our cottages or "Quarters" at Linwood Historic Home and Gardens take time from their busy schedules to write a review.
It was our pleasure to accommodate these particular guests for an extended stay of more than a month and we're pleased they found the little apartment comfortable and convenient. It does work well for those visiting this beautiful area, relocating or working nearby.
With thanks,
Linda Shelbourne.
About the host
Hosted by Linda Shelbourne
Peter and Linda have lived at LINWOOD for forty years. When their sons purchased their own homes near by, Linda developed the stately, Victorian house (1893) into a B&B. After 20 years of success and many awards, their concentration is now on the unique, comfortable, beautiful cottages which are in the grounds of the small, historic estate. We have a heart for hospitality, history and horticulture and love sharing all that with our guests. Guests come as strangers and leave as friends especially our winter folks who stay three months, enjoying the warmth of the Carolinas. It is particularly nice to have extended stay guests which is why we give very good rates to those staying longer.
Why they chose this property
Not only is "The Private Guest Quarters" a unique, comfortable and charming accommodation, it is very conveniently located to historic Charleston, Dorchester and Berkley counties for temporary work, relocating, or visiting.
What makes this property unique
This charming and comfortable, small accommodation is a great place to use as headquarters while working in or exploring the beautiful SC coastal region. You may drive north to Myrtle Beach and south to Hilton Head and Savannah. Wonderful to come home to this self contained, fully furnished abode after a busy work day or vacation in the area. Relax and walk to town for a drink and dinner if not in the mood to cook your own in the " Quarter's" kitchen.
