Inhabiting its protected, crystal clear waters lie incredible corals and colorful tropical fish just waiting to be snorkeled among. Big family vacation!

Very disappointing!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It's nice that you dare to get feedback from us on your own. First of all the positive: the organisation for the arrival, the chef, the cleaning staff on site and the caretaker at the house were all great. The houses Villa Magica and also our replacement house were very well furnished. But Villa Magica was much more comfortable and the air conditioning in the living area made it more comfortable.We find the handling of the algae problem absolutely scandalous. We looked at several bays and beaches and everywhere it was possible to remove the stinking algae! Only in front of our house at the end of Jadebay not. Their excuses that every day workers are on the spot and you don't come to the beach with bigger equipment are just stupid and outrageous excuses! We almost felt sorry for the workers with two pitchforks who shovelled the algae from left to right during the day. On the other hand they just sat around most of the day!It turned out that way for us:They have no desire to take the money in the hand and are too stingy to guarantee a professional removal! Instead they hope for the understanding of the guests, which is really very outrageous. We have paid 5.000,-$ for one week and asked several times before whether a cleaning takes place. We were lied to and feel cheated about our vacation!We now see it as our duty to inform future interested parties about these conditions on the beach and will place the appropriate evaluation in the networks.You (owner of the house or your rental organization) should be ashamed to deal with guests like this and should consider whether this should be the figurehead of yukatan!An offer for a compensation would be more than appropriate, since we had no beach vacation and had to invest one day vacation in removal.Translated with

The location is stunning – a beautiful sandy Beach right in front of the house, leading to perfect blue green waters. The house itself is immaculate and very spacious, with comfortable beds and pillows. The kids loved the backyard and there were plenty of places for everyone to lounge. The pool was also utilized almost every minute of our stay! Marcos and Reina took great care of us while we were there, and Chef Mauricio and his brother Carlos made delicious food during the week. Any minor hiccups we encountered were immediately addressed by Gustavo, the house manager. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more, and we hope to visit again! Thank you!

A Magical Week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We just returned from a wonderful week at Casa Magica. The house is spacious, airy and beautiful. There was plenty of room for our party of 9 adults and 2 kids.We rented a car from Cancun airport (which took a surprisingly long time, despite having a reservation). We stopped at Sam's Club in Playa del Carmen for groceries on the way in- very convenient and well stocked. (For a later grocery stop, we went to Chedraui in Tulum, which has everything.)The kitchen is well appointed and well stocked for any kind of cooking or baking you wish to do.The beach is lovely, but very rocky. The area around the villa is not great for swimming but you could walk down the beach and enter the water closer to Akumal town. It's a good idea to have some shoes for the rocky beach- even flip flops will work for a walk along the water.In any case, we spent a lot of time in the pool, which was great. The location is so gorgeous that most of us lost all ambition to visit other beaches, cenotes or Mayan ruins, though we did see the ruins at Tulum, about 20 mins away.The house staff, Marcos and Reina, are exceptional. Reina kept the house spotless and Marcos kept the property in great shape. Both are really wonderful people and nice to have around. Marcos very kindly brought us fresh coconuts each day.We hired chef Emilio and his sous chef Esteban for 4 dinners. They managed to accommodate all of our dietary requirements and made delicious and creative local cuisine for us. They also were a great presence at home. Best of all, they left us leftovers for the next day lunch that were always a hit!We would love to go back!

Not the best - not the worst.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We only stay in Vacation rental homes so we have become accus to things not being perfect. There were a lot of things broken such as sliding doors, drawer handles, chairs etc, small stuff. The lack of hot water was disappointing, the hot water tank must have been very small since the water stayed warm for 3 minutes. This was an issue for all 12 guests, in all bathrooms, all week long. In our bathroom, we had a leaky toilet that overflowed causing puddles on the bathroom floor, twice during our stay. The toilet was replaced on day 4. The sliding doors were very heavy and difficult to open/close. One of the bedrooms was missing a TV. The front door was dangerous as it was very heavy and prone to blow shut on its own.The entry to the beach was unsafe due to coral, we needed to hike over to the next cove to swim. The wind and sargassum, which are unpredictable were horrible. We stayed there the first week of March. You could not see the water in our cove as it was covered by sargassum. Not anyone's fault - just worth mentioning. Only had enough paddles for 3 kayakers, there was not an SUP for us to use. The guest house is out front, has no view and was completely separate from main house. The couple that stayed in it felt like that got the worst accommodations. The shower in the guest house did not work so they showered in the main house. There are not enough lounge chairs for everyone outside which made it challenging for all of us to enjoy vacation together. The postives.. Junglefish restaurant located 100 yards down the beach was great. Location to town was nice 5-minute drive.The house was breezy and AC worked well.We felt safe.Water was good.Beds were comfortable.Staff was courteous.Property was clean.Rooftop was fun.Overall we had fun, we got MARRIED poolside at the rental. Pool and location great although soulemein bay may have softer sand. Bedrooms are equally large and have en suite bathrooms so no fighting about where one sleeps. The guest house could be more inviting by adding creature comforts and color/decorating similar to main house so one would have really 5 equal bedrooms. Marcus who manages on site answers all questions and really helps to guide to resources. Rayna housekeeps and is lovely. We had professional food package so Emilio Talacon and his assistant Esteban were amazing and flexible. The food was abundant, creative and fabulous. We would have liked a more comfortable 2 person kayak as no one found existing one comfortable. We had paddle boards and a one person kayak available as well. The staff at the main office— Maria and Martina were immediately responsive to find really great yoga and massage resources. Top notch management co.

Scenic Beach Home

We had a great experience renting this home for the week with our young kids and a fellow family. There is not a bad view in the house! We love that each bedroom is set up with like it's own suite, with a private bathroom and even outdoor sitting area. The property management company was extremely helpful with prepping for our trip and giving us lots of information so we felt prepared when we arrived. The care takers were wonderful! Marcos always made sure we had everything we need and so friendly! We all loved the home and its amenities and said we would definitely be willing to come back and visit again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Truly magical stay at Casa Magica!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property name is apt: our extended family of nine spent a delightful, relaxing week at Casa Magica. Clean, spacious rooms and living spaces, both indoor and out, provided a lovely setting for our getaway. Marcos kept the property in excellent condition while Reina kept it impeccably clean. Gustavo checked in to make sure all was well and ensured that we rang in the new year in style. We spent the week snorkeling (there are fins and masks available for guests, but we brought our own snorkel gear) both directly in front of the house on calmer days and in Akumal, a short walk north, on breezier days when we needed more protection from the wind. The outdoor areas are set up perfectly for taking advantage of the sun but also for taking a break from it when needed. The house was far enough from the resorts of Akumal that the beach was never crowded, but close enough to be able to enjoy walks there and take in that energy when desired. Hiring Chef Emilio and his crew was an excellent decision as the food and conversation were delightful, and we could relax and enjoy the week without cooking and cleaning up. Having read about the seaweed that washes up on the shore, we were concerned about the mess and the smell, but it was never an issue for us. Marcos kept the beach clean and tidy! This property lives up to the Vrbo photos and description in every way!

The location on the beach was beautiful. The staff that maintains the property were very nice. We hired a chef to prepare breakfast and dinner for us and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Chef Emilio and helper Esteban prepared really wonderful food and drinks. I highly recommend adding this service to your vacation. The only things that need improvement are the internet service ( money should be spent to get a better signal and speed) as everyone relies heavily on it. Lastly hot water was minimal for such a large home. They should consider a tankless water heater so there is enough hot water for everyone to shower. Overall it was still a great spot to enjoy with friends and family and I would recommend.

La villa est très bien entretenue, Marcos et Reyna sont très serviables et d’une gentillesse absolue, ils font de plus un travail remarquable. Nous avons eu recours au service du chef Emiliano et de son collaborateur Esteban, pour une semaine fantastique de découvertes gustatives. I will echo other reviews to say the house is more beautiful and spacious than the photos lead you to believe. We lucked out and had four calm days so the snorkeling right in front of the house. We also loved cenotes Yal-Hu and Aktun Chen. We had lunch twice at Jungle Fish - just a short walk down the beach, and we also ate at La Lunita in Akumal - delicious and beautiful setting right on the beach. Chef Rosy cooked for us as well - wonderful meals and such a treat to have dinner prepared, served, and cleaned up! Marcos and Leyna are excellent - really we loved it all and hope to return someday soon!

Our best yet. A superb villa in a perfect location. Our first time in Mexico which was also a great experience. You literally step off the patio on to a superb sand beach with dozens of turtle nests - some of which hatched during our visit. We rarely used the pool spending our time in the sea. Marcos and his wife Reina kept an eye on things with cleaning and general care and maintenance and were excellent and very helpful. There is a great beach bar 100m along the beach and excellent restos within a 10 min drive. The beach was usually deserted except for the various bird life and the occasional walkers. One minor inconvenience was the residual seaweed from the problems earlier in the year but this was cleaned up regularly. The sea can be rough so you need to be a confident swimmer. Tranquil, private and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Vacation at Casa Magica!

The house was perfect for all of our needs. The rooms are large, open, and welcoming, and each has its own bathroom. The home is beautifully decorated and yet homey. The kitchen is fully equipped, can accommodate multiple people, and has beautiful large windows. The house also has air conditioning. A must in the summer.We hired chef Emilio Talacon, and his sous chef Esteban. They prepared beautiful breakfasts and dinners that were delicious and aesthetically pleasing. They were flexible to accommodate our time frame, and offered a wide selection of meals to prepare.The temperatures were hot and humid so we made good use of the pool. During our stay the sargassum seaweed invaded our beach access, but Marco, our house manager, had a couple of university students clear the path for easy kayak access to the sea. And although the smell was pungent, it never took away from the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, or the excellent snorkeling along the reef.Our housekeeper Reyna, and Marcos took care of our every need, answering questions about the area, as well as providing meal service on several occasions. We hired Ruby for wonderful massages under the outdoor thatched roof patio. This was a very relaxing experience. Antonio, our night time security, was friendly, helpful, and eliminated any need for worry.We visited Tulum ruins and had a great lunch at Farm to Table in Tulum, Muyil selva/ruins and Kaan Luum lagoon, Yal-Ku in Akumal, Chichen Itza and lunch in Valladolid. We also visited the underground caves and cenotes of Dos Ojos. Every place was a great experience!This was a fabulous vacation to remember!

Unrivaled excellence, service and luxury at Casa Magica

But first, we were most impressed with efficiency, ease and thorough the booking process was. Maria and Martina of Akumal Properties went above and beyond in answering questions, securing transportation and personal chef option, all the while showing patience and enthusiasm. Many thanks to them both! As to the villa itself: The house is first-rate, immaculate, spacious, incredibly well thought out, with comfortable furniture and works by local artists. Two master suites - one up, one down - plus additional large bedrooms, most with balcony, and a separate casita provide ample room to spread out, slip in for an afternoon siesta or stay up late to watch the stars. Beyond the glass doors of the tasteful great room and dining room is a private pool and private white sandy beach, kayaks and pool toys, and outdoor shower. A large palapa and a number ofl patio umbrellas allowed me to stay in the shade and enjoy the view and ocean breezes, while the rest of the family enjoyed the pool. Special mention must be made of the villa staff. Longtime employees housekeeper Reyna and caretaker/gardener Marcus made every moment seem effortless. Such pampering we could get use to! Our stay was 5 nights/6 days - not nearly long enough. The first thing I did once home was to check availability for a return to Casa Magica. Will make it an annual family trip!

Fabulous Memorial Weekend

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A family of 10, celebrating my mother's 80th birthday. We had a beautiful stay at Casa Magica. The house was perfect for the age span 80 to 10 years old, spacious with plenty of areas for all to gather as a big group or find a quite corner. the staff is very attentive. The house is very well kept and maintained, very clean. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious. We all commented how comfortable the beds were. The linens were great, clean, simple, in excellent condition. We hired a chef for two meals everyday, the best decision! It made our stay a true vacation for all and our meals were OUTSTANDING every time. The outdoor spaces of the house are exactly as pictured and also very well maintained, clean cushions and plenty of beach towels. The pool is small but wonderful. The house is located at the end of a Jade Bay, a mall quite bay. The only downside was the Sargassum, the algae that is piling without mercy on the beaches of most of the Mexican caribbean - a consequence of global warming. The local communities work very hard to keep it under control but it is there. Fortunately for us, it didn't smell and we could go in the ocean in other parts of the beach. The beach is very nice for short walks.

Amazing house!

The caretakers are wonderful and the pool is great. Beach is rocky, so be sure to bring water-shoes. Since it's a Villa a few things I'd recommend:- Jungle Fish and Las Villas Akumal restaurants for food very close by - Cassandra at Las Villas (right next door) is an amazing Chef and she cooked for us in our villa three of the five nights. - Pre-Stock the house with beer/water/snacks with Riviera Maya grocery delivery. They are the best and we had everything waiting before we arrived!

Nice vacation until we were robbed

Reviewer Comments: Everything with the house and location is fine, particularly the great chef Emilio.Unfortunately we were robbed in a way that we felt very insecure the rest of time after the robbery.It occurred Saturday June 2nd between 6.30 and 8.00 AM. There was daylight at that hours.The got into the house and took 2 notebooks that were in the first floor in a furniture by the dinning table.The worst thing is that they went upstairs to the bedrooms and got into two the bedrooms where we were sleeping.At 6.30 I went to the bathroom and when back to sleep to bed and I checked the time in my cell phone that was in the bedside table.At 8.30 my son knocked our door to say that his notebook was not in the dinning room.I was very surprised to note that my cell phone was not besides me. We all woke up and checked that robbers has taken also our credit cards and money from my wallet that was in my wife purse in a sofa in our bedroom.They also entered in my daughters bedroom and took also her Australian credit card, her Nikon camera and money from the closet inside the room.No one of us saw or heard anything. We felt a little dizzy and one of my daughters had a headache.We called to block the credit cards around 10AM and there we already used in Cancún where they spent around US$ 1.500.00We reported to the police that came to the villa and we went to Tulum to report this to the public fiscal.The villa administrator ordered to put a lock in each room. Four generations; A Magical Christmas Holiday

The staff were friendly and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They were fabulous cooks and made us a two authentic Mexican dinners while we were there. They taught us a few words of spanish and even opened a few coconuts right from the coconut tress on the property. We had fresh coconut water in the fridge all week! Another highlight was a 15 minute stroll down the beach to Akuamal. Their beautiful public beach had something for everyone. We had a great lunch at a Cabana restaurant. As well, there was a beach bar, snack bar and the water was crystal clear for a swim or snorkel. We were very happy staying at Casa Magica and would absoultly recommend it. It really was Magical!!

Wonderful week at Casa Magica

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic week at Casa Magica with Marco and Reyna. The house is beautiful and spacious. Our party consisted of two families; 4 adults and 7 children (aged 1-9). Shortly after our arrival Gustavo visited us at the house and gave us a basket overflowing with fruit, which was very generous! Each of the large bedrooms is beautifully decorated and gave our families some privacy. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and an assortment of dishes. The yard was in excellent condition, with comfortable beach loungers and lots of shade under the cabana and umbrellas. The landscaping is beautiful and very well maintained. Marco and Reyna were perfect hosts and we were sad to say good bye to them. We thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the pool with the children and exploring the beach every day. Unfortunately the weather was too windy to make use of the kayaks as the waves made it unsafe. We enjoyed several days playing in the sand and swimming/snorkelling with the children in Akumal. We spent a day at Xcaret where the children enjoyed seeing the animals and swimming at the beach in the tubes. The evening performance is excellent and we would consider returning to Xcaret just for the evening performance and the meal option. The other family that stayed in the home with us also spent a day at Xel-Ha and were very impressed with the variety of fish they saw. The house is very conveniently located along the coast, making it easy and quick to visit Playa del Carmen for some shopping or explore the ruins at Tulum. We would definitely consider returning to Casa Magica again and would recommend the home and its staff without hesitation.
