Our Akumal home is BEACHFRONT with beautiful ocean views. The home features 4 bedrooms - all with OCEAN VIEWS - and each bedroom has it's own bathroom, an air conditioning unit and ceiling fan. Swimming pool beach side with furnished pool deck, eating area and lounge chairs. There is a beachside balcony that runs the length of the house. The rooftop observation deck is ideal for lounging, entertaining and taking in the beautiful views. Great on-site features: 2 kayaks, snorkeling, hammocks.

Our beachfront villa is the ideal vacation spot for families, couples, friends traveling together, corporate retreats, luxury travelers and all visitors to Akumal who are looking for a 5-star property and 5-star experience.

Please note: sometimes the ocean brings sargasso (sargassum seaweed) up on the beach. It is not predictable and is a part of nature. We do our best to clean it up each day so our guests can enjoy a sandy beach. However, this is not always possible, even with the help of our HOA and Pancho (our caretaker) working tirelessly. We apologize in advance if the ocean brings the sargasso during your stay.

One of our Favorite VRBO rentals!
This house was awesome! I rent from VRBO often and this was one of the best houses we have ever stayed at. Poncho and Mercedes go above and beyond to make you comfortable without crowding you. The house is clean and beautiful, the pool bigger than we expected and right on the beach! We were extremely pleased with every aspect of this rental.

Wonderful stay in Akumal
My wife and I spent a week at Casa Playa Del Caribe, along with my brother and sister and their spouses. We had a wonderful time. The house was fabulous, exactly as described. The caretakers, Pancho and Mercedes, were warm and welcoming, providing great service while respecting our privacy. Brittany was an excellent host, with prompt and thorough communication in advance and throughout our stay. The outdoor living area and beach were wonderful. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. Also, the snorkeling at the reef was very good (much better than we experienced on our snorkeling side trip to Cozumel). We had some very good dinners in Akumal. In all, I highly recommend Casa Playa Del Caribe as a vacation home away from home!

This is our second visit and it was again, amazing. The house is more beautiful than the pictures and the location could not be more perfect. Watched the best sunrises from the private beach, and the water out front is perfect for snorkeling. Brittany who manages the property is responsive and wonderful to work with. Lastly Pancho and Mercedes took such good care of us! Merecedes is an amazing cook . I highly recommend having her cook for you while you’re there. Pancho keeps the place looking beautiful!!!! Highly recommend this home!

Amazing house, amazing caretakers, amazing beach!
Our group of 9 stayed in Playa Casa del Caribe Feb 3-10, 2024. The house was perfect! We’ve never stayed in a house where the caretakers cleaned every day and kept the house stocked with purified water and toiletries. They thought of everything! Pancho and Mercedes were amazing! Pancho keeps the grounds manicured to perfection and Mercedes keeps the house clean. She also made the best food we ate while there! Delicious!!! The house is located in the perfect spot in Akumal. We walked the beach in both directions and quickly realized this is the best house, yard/beach and the best location in the Riviera Maya! We had a great time snorkeling right out the back door (bring water shoes - there is rock and coral from the shore), watching the pelicans dive for fish, and watching the iguanas and hermit crabs. We even had 2 raccoon visitors one night and saw a couple coati run across the neighborhood. It was amazing! The house itself has plenty of space for everyone. We loved the beach chairs under a palm tree and also sunning ourselves on the roof! Kids loved the pool (although it was too cold for us adults). This house made our vacation to Mexico. 10/10 stars!

Perfect Family Escape
Our extended family, ranging from 14 to 80+ years, spent the week before Christmas enjoying this slice of paradise. The setting on the beach is perfect. The 4 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms comfortably accommodated everyone, and the central living/dining/kitchen provided space for us all to gather. The on-site caretakers, Pancho and Mercedes, were responsive and great. Short drives to both Akumal and Tulum for exploring. And best of all ... no mosquitos at the house! Stay here - you will love it!

A Week in Paradise
The home and it's location were perfect. There was plenty of room for all of us, and the pool and private beach were everything. We swam in the pool, and went snorkeling and kayaking in the ocean on a daily basis. We walked along the beach in both directions & ended up at the "Jungle Fish" restaurant which was excellent. Poncho & Mercedes were wonderful & cooked us a meal one night which was also excellent. We saw Iguanas, Hermit Crabs, a Seagull, and other beautiful birds every day. And the view of the beach and ocean from every part of the property inside and out, was absolutely breathtaking.

Quiet and private family getaway
We loved our days at Casa Playa del Caribe! The house is as beautiful and clean as the listing photos. Always felt safe and private. Accurate description of Paradise
The VRBO listing is accurate. We did feel like we were in paradise. Our 6 to 8 year old grandchildren had a blast with both the beach and the pool as their playground. Mercedes and Pancho added to our serenity by the care they took of the house and beach. Just amazing.

Surprisingly Stunning
This property is as beautiful as it looks. Yes, the beach is just out your back door. Extremely private. Most days we had the whole bay to ourselves. After walking the bay , we realized that this property had the best beach in the bay. The snorkeling was amazing and perfect for beginners. Poncho and Mercedes were wonderful. They kept everything clean and cooked a wonderful supper for us one night. It was perfect for our family vacation.

An Absolute Dream
If you are reading this look no further because you have found your next vacation rental. This property was simply breathtaking and my family was in awe since the moment we stepped foot in the home. Equipped with everything you need to make lovely meals, including a charcoal grill by the pool where we enjoyed many bbqs. The home is so spacious we each felt at home in our own space with the common areas located in the center of the house. The rooftop provided stunning views and endless rays of sunshine to bask in. The beach was the star of the show… we spent as much time as possible paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling where we saw amazing wildlife. Our favorite was the resident pelican who would fish every morning and evening. A truly incredible sight. The location of the property is perfectly stationed in the middle of all cenotes, ruins, lagoons, downtown, and more. What set this place apart above all were groundskeepers Pancho and Mercedes. They were so inviting, kind, and resourceful. They were there for us whenever we needed anything, kept our space clean and safe but did so all while maintaining our privacy. I can’t thank them enough and Brittany you have such a gem of a spot in Akumal and we would be lucky to return in the future.

A Thanksgiving to remember
This was probably the best handled property we have stayed at. From Brittany being so kind and helpful over VRBO and then Mercedes and Pancho at the Villa we never wanted for anything. My family (2 children 7,12) and our best friends family with their children (9,12) had an idyllic time. The house was set up perfectly for two families traveling with kids. All the pictures are exactly what it is but what you don't see is the beautiful on shore winds that cool you off everyday so it's not so hot and blow the bugs right away. Although, it's always wise to bring something just in case, we didn't have any issues though. Also, I don't want to spoil it but these Pelicans are incredible that swoop down right in front of you to catch your dinner, it's something out of a nature show. And the snorkeling right outside the house, so easy. Truly an amazing house set in a quiet cove and managed by a great team. Thank you all.

Family Bonding
Our trip to Akumal and Britany’s property was fantastic!! Britany was so responsive to all of our questions prior to the trip- she made it very easy. Once we were there, we were met by Mercedes and Pancho, the caretakers of the property. They were our angels- delivered groceries for us, cleaned the house and pool area daily and cooked a wonderful meal one night. I highly recommend this property. Every room has a balcony/patio leading outside. At night, all you hear are waves and all you smell is the salty air. Loved every minute!!

Home is just as pictured. Pancho and Mercedes who help keep the home clean and assist with groceries and cooking were very nice. The only downside was the beach. The sand is white and soft, but the coast line is over run with seaweed, and rocks. It’s more like a reef and just not what I want in a beach vacation. However, if you take a 10 min ride up the road you can pay to enter a normal postcard beach experience.

Exceeded Expectations
This house truly was a little piece of paradise for us. The beach was even more private than we imagined, with only a few people a day walking by. The property manager was very helpful and caring, and answered all of our questions quickly. The property’s caretakers, Pancho and Mercedes, we’re also wonderful and helped to make our stay in Akumal that much easier. The location of this villa is also ideal. It’s away from the huge crowds of Cancun, but only 25 minutes from Tulum if you want to get out and explore. If this villa is on your shortlist, go ahead and book it. You will love every minute. Best vacation ever!
If you love the photographs you see online, you will love this property. It is even better! Everything was perfect. The house, the location, the snorkeling, the wonderful caretakers, Pancho and Mercedes, the host, Brittany, the wonderful meal prepared by Mercedes for our arrival, the pool, the view, the safety of the area/location........ We could go on forever. As Jo Jo, our matriach, said, "It is heaven!" I think it as is close to it on earth as you can get. Overselling the experience? Not acutally. Enjoy

Peaceful beachside home in paradise
We had a wonderful time at this beachside home in Akumal, Mexico. This is the first time that we've rented a house in Mexico and we were very pleased with the accommodations, locale and furnishings. The beautiful azure Caribbean is a short walk out your backyard. It's nice that there are (4) bathrooms to go with the (4) bedrooms, note one of the downstairs bedrooms is not ensuite, but that wasn't an issue for us. Brittany did an excellent job of communicating with us and answered all our questions. There is a caretaker couple (Pancho & Mercedes) that live in a house in the front of the property. They did a great job of making us feel welcome and keeping the environs looking good. Pancho swept the pool area, kept the pool clean and raked the backyard sand everyday. We took advantage of Pancho and Mercedes cooking dinners for us each night and we were very happy with the various delicious meals that we were presented with. There are plenty of kitchen tools, utensils, and servings plates, etc in the kitchen and lots of lounge chairs and a few hammocks for relaxing. We went out in the kayaks and paddleboards everyday. Bring your water shoes as the entrance into the sea is a bit rocky. The water was warm and soothing. Our week stay was very relaxing and we can't wait to return, already planning on next year. Thank you.

Perfectly relaxing week!!
This is the most amazing property to just sit back and relax! The beach is gorgeous and the house is very comfortable. Snorkeling right out back. All sorts of great sea life to see. The property managers are super kind and attentive and very good at being there when you want but never even slightly intrusive! The property is very secure within a gated community and security in the beach so we never felt nervous about our safety at all. If I could make some tiny tweaks I’d heat the pool and add a barbecue for night when you’d like to cook for yourself. Definitely rent a car. The roads seem very safe and excursions are hard to navigate without your own wheels. We will definitely be back!!

Wonderful stay in Akumal for family
We stayed at this property as a group of family and friends (8 adults and 1 infant). The location and amenities of the house are excellent. The town of Akumal is so adorable - we enjoyed La Buena Vida restaurant and the fruit stands on the other side of the bridge (across the highway from the beach side). The pharmacy in Akumal (non-beach side) was also super helpful and had the baby Tylenol we needed. Pancho and Mercedes provided perfect hospitality, keeping the house and grounds clean. We asked them to make dinner most nights and the food was some of our favorite on our entire trip. We are not picky eaters so asked Mercedes to pick the menu- she made delicious food with great variety. Homemade food made the trip feel extra special for us, we felt so cared for. They also bought initial groceries for us so that we could make breakfast the first morning. It was so nice being able to get to the house and settle in rather than have to grocery shop and cook right away, very relaxing especially when traveling with an infant. The beach out front is beautiful, very shallow waters but it is rocky so we found our water shoes useful each day. The on-site kayaks and paddle boards and snorkel gear provided even more fun. Communication with Brittany was easy and thorough. Directions to the house and information were spot on. Honestly we were pleasantly surprised by everything especially the level of service. We didn’t realize that daily housekeeping would be provided, pool and beach cleaned daily, and even a Pack n Play. For a first time visit to this area we found it very easy to drive around and find everything we need. I speak a little Spanish which was helpful in the town (I.e. fruit stand) where prices were significantly lower than the more touristy beach area. But absolutely wasn’t necessary to still have a completely perfect vacation. We would hands down rent this property again, especially if Pancho and Mercedes are still there! Thank you for a great stay.

Perfect for our extended family
The house was beautifully put together, giving us every opportunity to enjoy the stay. We are a diving family, and Akumal Dive Shop was just a 5-minute drive for us. Pancho and Mercedes were consummate hosts, making dinner for us each evening, cleaning up after us in all areas of the house and doing our laundry. Amazingly, we never noticed them cleaning, making the beds or rearranging the furniture in the back to accommodate the turtle patrol. I personally think they employed the use of a magic wand. The pool was immaculate for the grandkids and the AC in the bedrooms was more than adequate for our needs. We enjoyed watching a blistering rain storm on the second floor balcony between the two master bedrooms and the sunrise from the rooftop. The only downside was the leaning palm tree trunk on the other side of the road. When backing my rented Suburban out of the driveway, the tree reached out and shattered the back window. It was, of course, not my fault. At least, that's what I told the rental company . . . Kent Smith
