Forest as Your Backyard - Near Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Sedona

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,850 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 14 nights

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Come stay at our fully furnished and newly remodeled cabin on the Coconino National Forest. The backyard adjacent to 200+ square miles of national forest, complete with elk, deer, and all sorts of other wildlife. Very private location and a great spot for a relaxing time in the mountains or as a place to get away and entertain family & friends after a day on the slopes, sledding, hiking, day trips with the kids.

One master bedroom sleeps 2 in a queen sized bed. The loft comfortably sleeps 4 in a queen and two twin beds. There is also a Murphy bed in the second living room to sleep 2 more. Total bed space is 8 people. You can put two more on sofas, three if they are children and one can fit on a love seat.

The main family room is a great space for reading or any other relaxing activity. Tongue & groove pine with a stone fireplace gives the place a real old time cabin feel. This room is a wonderfully quiet space to read or take a nap by the fire. Attached is the dining room with adjacent kitchen. The newly remodeled and fully furnished kitchen includes all the comforts of home, including: a microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, coffeemaker, breakfast bar, full sized fridge/freezer with icemaker, and all utensils. There is even a gas grill outside.

The back half of the cabin - with national forest views through almost every window - can be closed off from the sleeping, reading, eating area - for entertaining. This is a great feature if you don't want to wake up the kids while you play pool, cards, or watch a movie or game on the 40 inch LCD. There are two entertaining rooms, a laundry, and a full bathroom. One room contains a 40 inch HDTV with a love seat and sofa in addition to the 8 foot pool table. The other room contains a game table, pellet stove, and full sized Murphy bed. You can walk out the large sliding door to step into the backyard for a private national forest view. The Murphy bed also takes advantage of the view as it is on the opposite wall from the large glass door.

Out front there is a large covered porch with a porch swing. It is a great spot to sit and watch the storms boil up and over the hill during the summer months.

Our cabin is a short drive from Phoenix - as little as 1.5 hours from the north side. Come up stay at our place. We have had countless wonderful weekends with our family over several decades. I am sure that you will enjoy your stay too.

Bigger Than Expected

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect! I was surprised when we got there, because it was bigger than what it looks like in the pictures.

The back yard has a fence, so the dogs were able to go out back without leashes, but there was a gate in the fence so we could wander around the trails all around the woods. There was even a small "lake" not too far that the dogs played in.

We used the grill one night to cook dinner and sat out back on the patio to enjoy the wonderful weather, followed by smores for dessert around the camp fire.

There is a pellet (sp?) stove in the living space downstairs which takes a little while to warm up, but works very well at keeping the house warm once it's started. I could imagine the upstairs loft would be quite warm in the summer months, but it was perfect for the chili weather, we didn't even use the space heater upstairs (there was one in every room).

We used the card table to play games at night too, and the pool table was fun as well.

The only thing I didn't like about the house were the stairs. They are narrow and slippery, so I did end up falling and breaking my toe. Not a reason to not book this house, but just a note to others to be careful and avoid my mistake.

Bradley was very responsive to all my questions. I would definitely recommend, and will probably return again!

Clean, quaint, great family getaway.

Our stay was great. Got away from our normal hussle and enjoyed relaxing in the pines. Our family loved the pool table and games. All appliances worked great and everything we needed was there. Very clean and well organized. Thanks for a nice getaway!

Ive rented quite a bit of properties over the years and this is the first where the owner contacts me directly to make sure everything is good and answers any questions I might have had. He gave me his number incase we needed to reach him for anything at all very nice guy, I would defiantly re visit and re rent this property and I would also recommend to family and friends, nearest stores and restaurants are 18 miles north of the property so be prepared when coming here with all that you need. local gas stations close early so you will have to drive into flagstaff for food/drink services that was the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars.

We loved our stay for the month of July. The view is amazing from both the front porch and the back

The cabin is updated and very comfortable. Although we didn't use the loft because it was a little warm, we had plenty of space when our family came to visit. The owner, Brad, was very quick to reply to any questions we had. We will definitely be back again. Thanks Brad for a nice relaxing month!

Treasured Experience

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about this cabin. The photos do not do it justice. It is beautiful inside and out. It's kitchen is equipped with just about anything you would need and it has all sorts of entertainment available---pool table, card table, stereo, cable, wi-fi, etc., not to mention the awesome forest trails right outside the back yard. This cabin is in a nice cul-de-sac and although there are many cabins in the area, it was quiet, serene, and felt uncrowded. The interior of the cabin is spacious and the furniture is very comfortable. The cabin was well insulated against heat and cold. There was plenty of wood pellets for the wood pellet stove and firewood for the fireplace.

Truly our stay was an amazing experience full of nature. We experienced everything from a peaceful snowfall to an exciting thunderstorm to glorious blue skies. The starry nights were incredible. The trees, rocks, birds, wildlife and forest in general made our stay! Great trails to hike that are well-maintained. We took a zillion pictures!

The owner, Brad, was a fantastic host. Very conscientious and considerate. It was a pleasure to meet him.
