This cabin was almost perfect. It worked really well for our family of 6. We had the 4 girls in the 2 sets of bunkbeds. Used the kitchen, the grill, and the jacuzzi every night. The only thing that could have been better was if this was a ski in, ski out, instead of just a ski out. We looked for sleds but couldn't find any - that would have been great to use after the lifts closed for the day. I thought the local grocer would have some for sale but no dice.
Thank you for staying with Big Sky Vacation Rentals. We enjoy sharing our local knowledge of the area along with our favorite dining experiences. We hope your group enjoyed these recommendations! The ski access to get back follows Powder River to the last Cowboy Heaven Cabins. Depending on snow conditions, you can either ski directly back to the cabin, or can get off the trail two cabins down and walk. I apologize if you were not able to utilize this this access. The grocery stores in Big Sky are small and have limited inventory, but the Big Sky Ace Hardware does sell sleds in the winter months, for future reference! But this home does not list sleds as part of the amenities, I apologize if you were expecting one. We look forward to hosting you again, thanks for a great experience!

Great cabin on a great mountain
Awesome cabin, exactly as described in the listing. Well stocked on all household goods. The only caveat was the cabin wasn't exactly "ski-in" as advertised, as the access required taking gear off and walking across the street. One can definitely "ski-out" though. Would definitely stay again.
Great cabin for a good price. Cabin easily slept 5 grown men. Kitchen was was well equipped. We cooked breakfast a dinner everyday. Good grill. Cabin is a true ski out. Ski in requires a short 100ft walk across culdesac. The road was plowed regularly but a 4x4 vehicle is very useful.
Cabin great; cleaning and support not so good
The cabin was very charming and cute. It is inaccessible without a car rental and the night we came in the roads were not plowed and it was difficult to get to the cabin and to the door with our luggage. It is a ski-in, ski-out cabin but has no place for skis, no snow shovel, etc. Those things were okay, but the bathrooms both had orange gunk growing on the shower curtain and plastic about a foot up. There were cobwebs dancing on the ceiling and dusting on floorboards had not been done for a very very long time. The coffee maker was broken, there were no coffee filters (or coffee). The property management book stated they had sent us a list of what would be there; they had not. I think this is a very good property, but not well managed. I would not be writing this had I received a helpful response when I asked about snow shovel, coffeemaker, etc. The owners should know that the care is not up to par for the price.
Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I wanted to reach out personally as I take all guest feedback very seriously and in 6 years of running this company this is the worst review we have ever received. As a local company focused on making each guest's vacation the best possible it looks like we failed miserably on your stay. I want to rectify this to the best of my ability and talk to the appropriate staff so I will also call you to discuss.
The only issue I am aware of that was reported was on the day of departure.... (it was noted that the guest reported the coffee pot was old and not working well) We replaced the coffee pot immediately.
We don't normally provide shovels at these cabins because the association provides a shoveling service and it seems that they just end up buried in the snow or taken by the snow removal people.
We do not provide coffee as a supplied item and it is not noted on our list. We do however provide filters which I found in your unit today after reading your review. (Not sure how those were missed, but my apologies that you did not find them)
It sounds like you asked about the shovel and the coffeemaker and did not receive a helpful response. I would love to talk on the phone or learn more about what was said and who you talked to as it sounds like it was frustrating for you.
As far as the list we provide to all guests....our system shows that the list was sent to you on 1/11 and it was opened the same day. I'm sorry you felt as if you did not receive a list of items you could expect to find at the cabin as stated in your review. This information is provided to each and every guest of our properties 60 days prior to travel or on the day of booking if less than 60 days from travel dates.
Had we been told of your concerns with the cleaning standards we could have sent cleaners to fix troublesome issues. We personally inspect each clean and try to make sure our properties are pristine. Today when I inspected the cabin I noticed brand new shower liners and the curtains had been washed. I hate to see the owner and the property penalized so greatly (because of our shortcomings) with a negative review so if there is something we can do so that you feel better about your experience please let me know. Again, many thanks for sharing as it certainly makes us want to improve the experience for future travelers.
Sincerely, Kirsten King, Owner Big Sky Vacation Rentals
This cabin is very cozy and was very clean. It is a ski out, but you have to walk a short distance to ski in. I agree with previous review comments that it would be nice if a path was cleared to the cabin as if the snow is deep it could be a bit more challenging. It was great that it was stocked with all of the basic amenities such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc. It had nice shampoo and soap in the bathrooms as well. The hot tub was was very nice and clean and we enjoyed daily visits from the red fox while sitting in the hot tub. The bunk room was great for kids. It does lack storage in this room. The cabin comfortably sleeps 6, but could accommodate 8 if you all like to be cozy. It is nice that it has a keyless entry. The kitchen doesn't have a lot of cups or silverware. There are nice views from the cabin and the back deck is quaint. The management company was very nice and helpful in the booking process and upon check in. The check in process is very easy as well. We would definitely return to this cabin.
The cabin and view was very nice! It had everything in that was advertised. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because we had no communication on where to go with our trash, the griddle was broken, and we had to re wash the dishes prior to use. for a 195.00 cleaning fee we felt the dishes should've been clean. With all that being said, we would return.
