Private island on Crystal Lake in Gray, Maine

What could be better than staying on your own private island on a quiet, clean lake in Maine? This property is one of a kind. The 1 acre island has a 3 bed/2 bath house with a large backyard deck and fire pit. The dock is perfect for swimming (it's about 15 ft deep when you jump off) and if you'd prefer to walk in you can do so right on the other side of the island/yard (perfect little pebble beach for kids!) Paddle board and kayaks are available to use and there is a public boat launch. The house is open-concept and perfect for making memories during your stay. First floor has an open kitchen, dining and sunken living room as well as a large bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs you'll find two bedrooms and a bathroom. All rooms in the house have water views -- and from the primary bedroom you can watch the sun rise and set all from bed! The finished basement provides extra space to play pool or other games together as well as extra sleeping space for kids. Gray is a convenient spot because it's quiet and peaceful on the lake but very close to Portland (with award-winning restaurants, bars, shops, etc.) as well as Freeport and Windham. Whether you like to spend all your time outdoors on the water, hiking, etc. or you'd prefer to go out for dinner, drinks, etc. nothing is more than a 20 minute ride.

Amazing Location and Property

Our stay was phenomenal. The property is exactly as described and provides excellent seclusion on the lake. The on property dock provides exquisite views of the lake and of the sunsets. Morning on the property offer shade allowing us to relax and have coffee without the need to do too much prep. If you get the chance to stay here, take it!

Wonderful Weekend Stay With Friends for the 4th

Amazing stay at this wonderful place located on an island in Crystal lake. Perfect place for being close to everything while feeling completely remote and feeling like you have an entire lake to yourself. Outside, the dock was perfect for sunbathing, sunset photos, teaching our dog how to jump into the water, and kayaking/standup paddle boarding. The fire pit was great for smores and enjoying the evenings. The house itself was perfect for 6 adults with comfortable climate controlled bedrooms. The living area was great for games and watching TV during the occasional rainstorm. The kitchen was well stocked and and had a great table for all of us to eat together. Overall it was an awesome trip and would absolutely book again! Our dog Sandy misses very much chasing tennis balls off the dock and swimming in the refreshing and calm lake water.

What makes this property unique

Having a private island with a large yard right on the lake all to yourself is really special. You don't have to worry about any neighbors being too loud or disturbing your vacation. Crystal Lake has a public boat launch but is very quiet as many people do not know about it and head to nearby Sebago. The depth is about 50 feet in the center of the lake and about 15 feet off the swimming dock on the property. The lake association does a great job keeping it clean. The property is only five minutes to I-95 which allows you to get to Portland or Freeport within 20-30 minutes.
