Host Rules:
Renter's Agreement: Guests must sign the Renter's Agreement to confirm their reservation.
Age min: must be 25 years or older to book
Guest Limit: As per Tofino Bylaws, a maximum of 6 guests (including babies and children) are allowed. If a reservation exceeds this limit, we reserve the right to ask the guests to leave.
During peak summer season (June 15 - Sept 15), 3 night minimum and all bookings must be back-to-back to avoid gaps. If you receive a "host unavailable" message despite seeing availability, please contact us. Our booking system has specific rules and may require manual adjustments.
3 night minimum stay for all Canadian Statutory Holidays
Pet Policy: 2 dog max and must be owner approved plus paid for before arrival. Sorry no cats!
Please note: A long-term tenant lives on-site in a separate caretaker suite as per Tofino Bylaws
Strict Quiet Hours: 10pm to 8am - please be respectful of the neighbours and locals!

We enjoyed our stay at Skylight Cottage. The check-in was smooth and the location was good - right on the bike path to Tofino and the nearby coffee shop/brewery/ restaurants. We did drive to most of the beaches, but Mackenzie was close enough to bike to. There was a bit of road noise at times. The cottage was very clean and had some cool design touches, such as amazing driftwood bannisters. The beds were very comfortable, there were lots of fluffy towels, and the provided soap/shampoo were very nice quality. The hair dryer was melted and could stand to be replaced. We liked the dish soap so much that we purchased some in Ucluelet where it is made. It was great to have a washer and dryer and laundry soap available also. Games and puzzles were also provided, which was fun.The hot tub was very lovely and under a beautiful cedar cover. Having an outdoor shower was very helpful, especially with 6 adults, some of whom were surfing and could then rinse off and wash out wetsuits. The original fire pit did not work, but the management company quickly sent a replacement. The cottage is a bit of a tighter squeeze for 6 adults - lots of bedroom space, but not a lot of living space/kitchen space. The kitchen had a plethora of appliances and other cooking gear but could have used more drinking glasses, oven mitts and serving/wooden spoons. The concrete countertops were also a bit difficult to clean and looked a bit worse for the wear. There were some skylights missing blinds also.

We really appreciate your suggestion about restocking the kitchen. We've since completed a kitchen refresh and added the missing items. While we're waiting for the replacement part for the skylight blinds to arrive, we've also installed a temporary blackout blind to make the room more comfortable. I'm so glad you were able to make use of the outdoor shower as well! It really is a great bonus when travelling with six guests, especially since the home has one indoor shower. Conveniently located. Check in was easy. Our hang ups were that we had been coming off of a long hard stretch at work and was hoping for some good R&R along with our time. The skylights in the bedroom did not have functioning blinds. So we were up with the sun. If you stay here you will definitely need a sleep mask. We reported this to the property management and we’re very clear about it being the skylights. They offered to fix it but only brought solutions for the windows (which those blinds were broken too, but broken in the down position). Additionally, we were traveling with our pup. During check in they laid out the property rules for pets, which included picking up your pets waste (obviously!). However, they give no place for you to throw out your pets waste. Their recommendation was to throw it in the bin in the house and then message the property to come pick it up. This was an issue for several reasons. I understand that due to surrounding wildlife you don’t want to have waste bins around. However, there has to be a middle ground to get rid of the necessities. There was evidence around the property that other renters just stopped picking it up.

We are actively working to have them repaired, but in the meantime, we're happy to provide sleep masks and have also arranged an alternative cover so guests can still enjoy a good night's sleep. It's been a frustrating issue with the automation system, but please know we're doing everything we can to resolve it as quickly as possible. I also really appreciate your understanding regarding the dog waste. We do have a dog waste bin located in the back of the property for guests to use, but we misunderstood your message and thought you were requesting a general garbage pickup. We offer garbage collection during stays to help reduce wildlife interactions, as outdoor garbage can attract animals. My sincere apologies for the misunderstanding. Going forward, there will be a clearly designated dog waste bin available for all future guests. Thank you again for your understanding and patience. We truly appreciate you choosing to stay with us, and we're very sorry for the inconveniences you experienced but welcome you back anytime!

Beautiful house in the woods

Amazing stay in tofino

We had a wonderful stay at Skylight Cottage! Communication was always friendly and smooth. The cottage felt like a true home away from home— super clean, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed. It's also very baby-friendly, which made our stay even more comfortable. The location was amazing—close to everything. We also loved how the area is surrounded by trees, perfect for peaceful walks or morning runs. One of our favorite features was the cedar-canopied hot tub and bbq on the deck.

Check in was easy and the messaging very helpful. The kitchen was great and we cooked each evening. Only siggestion is to check numbers of bowls, glasses etc to check there are sufficient for the number pf guests (eg there were only 4 bowls, perhaps because of previous breakages?)

Home Sweet Home

Directions & entry requirements were clear and provided in advance. Location was Perfect, close to everything. Spacious for 4 girls travelling with a bed for each of us. A complete kitchen to enjoy making breakfast there to start our day. Would highly recommend and would be my to go place if I were back in the area again. Very Clean and the laundry and hot tub were additional perks. Thank You for an Amazing Stay.
