Away from it all...but still close!
These pictures do not reflex just how amazing this house is! We had the most wonderful time here. Their were 15 of us and we could not have been more comfortable!!
Well maintained and well stocked. Great for large groups. Only problem was with hot water in the 8 bathrooms...very inconsistent.
Thank you for your comments. We were unaware they were having a problem with the hot water which could have easily been remedied by a filter change had we been made aware.
The Wayward Moose Lodge was better than the pictures. It is spacious, but cozy for our group of 16.
We held a Peace Corps Micronesia 50th reunion at the Wayward Moose. The owners have done an outstanding job of making the spacious facility cozy and accomodating for groups. Cooking for 16 was easy as the kitchen is well equipped! The table sat all of us allowing for time to tell stories and catch up with each other.
Each bedroom was nicely decorated and comfortable - and each had it's own bathroom!
The view from the porch was amazing and there was room for us to relax and talk. The tv is set up so that with an HDMI cord we could share slides and videos of time in Pohnpei as well as of other reunions.
The location of the Wayward Moose allowed hikers to find 3-4 great hiking spots and the folks who wanted to visit sights in Asheville a quick ride to town.
After coming up the steep drive once, it doesn't seem daunting.
The owners are very nice. They were available to answer questions.
We felt like we found a gem in the mountains of Asheville!
Thank you so much for your comments as what you describe is exactly what we are trying to create. You were a delightful group who took good care of our “gem"
Great views, well-appointed lodge
Overall, the lodge was great for our weekend. The views are wonderful, the rooms and kitchen were well-appointed and all of our guests appreciated having their own bathrooms. The driveway is a bit intimidating at first, but even our sedans were able to make it up with no problem.
Great for Groups
Huge gathering spaces for our group of 14. Nicer than expected!! The actual Lodge has 4 bedrooms/baths and the Annex right next door has another lovely appointed 4 bedrooms/baths. Owners are very responsive and helpful.
Using their driver is highly recommended! Easy drop off/pick up in Asheville’s wonderful restaurant district. Our group is in their 70’s. The Lodge is not handicap accessible and has steep stairs . Otherwise, it’s a true winner!!
This was an awesome house! it was perfect for our company retreat, the living room was big enough for everyone to have room, each room had its own bathroom (huge plus!), kitchen had a nice coffee pot for big groups, views were wonderful, beds were comfortable, and having the availability from the homeowner to transport everyone with their driving service was the cherry on top! Lovely home and would highly recommend it!
