Weekend trip
First, we normally travel out of state or out of the country so this was new to us. This rental home was not what we expected, but we chose to make the best of it. Check in was easy. First thing we noticed was the smell of mold that smacked us in the face upon arrival. It was masked with several fans being turned on, and plug in air fresheners. The rooms were clean, but when we got to the back room to settle our eldest daughter in, the room was locked. Thankfully Brenda and her husband came to unlock the door, but needed to remove the doorknob. Unfortunately due to the electrical wire being exposed in the closet of that room, I refused to let my daughter sleep in there. The doors to the closets were flimsy and one in the “brown room” was already off the track when we got there. I can’t make this next part up. I took several photos…either the person cleaning the home or the people who rented before us left us an abundance of boogers on the bed sheets, comforters and walls of the “brown room”. When we did laundry, we noticed the back door wasn’t sealed properly, causing it to be extremely hot in the laundry room, kitchen/dining area of the house. It was a quick weekend getaway so this wasn’t TOO bad, but we don’t recommend this house to anyone with children. It’s in dire need of an inspection and a remodel.
