House, yard, dock, 5 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 13), Downtown Rockville
This is a fabulous house in a spectacular one and one half acre garden setting in Rockville on Wadmalaw Island, SC. It is a well loved family home that we have owned since 1986. Our children have learned to water ski, sail, crab, fish, swim and kayak right off of the convenient and charming deep water dock.
The house was built in the 1970's. It is on three levels but the middle floor is the main living floor with two large wings on each side with bedroom/bath (queen bed)guest room, and (king bed) in Master, each wing with walk in closets and with balconies The kitchen and great room with fireplace occupy the central part of the house and open onto a fabulous screened porch overlooking the dock, oak trees and the creek. The floors are heart pine. The walls are also pine. There is a loft overlooking the great room with a full bath and three single beds.
The great room has a glass top table that seats 8, a farm table that seats 8, a long counter that seats 8. On the screened porch there is another glass top table that seats 6.
Our crab pots are bringing in lots of crabs. Sitting at the counter with a pile of crabs and lots of newspaper is one of our favorite things. We have crab pots and a large pot in which to cook them.
On the ground level is a large room overlooking the creek with a queen bed, sofa and 2 chairs and stone fireplace. It opens onto a smaller bedroom with queen bed. Each room has its own access to the shared bath. It can be used as a suite, or two separate bedrooms.
The house is easily shared by several couples either with children or without. The bedrooms are widely separated and each has its own bath.
The dock is great for boating, swimming or fishing/crabbing , and boating. We have three Kayaks available for your use. Additional kayaks and boats can be rented at the Bohicket Marina. They also offer sunset cruises and nature tours or you can enjoy your own boat or our jon boat. Check the website for Bohicket Boat.

About Jamie Molony
The house is owned by 2 sisters. We are both in our 60's, both have 3 grown children. One sister is a retired librarian, married to a retired physician. The other is a retired psychotherapist. She and her husband have sailed their boat from Adams Creek to Europe and the Mediterranean where they now spend their summers.
Jamie Molony purchased this House in 1986
Why Jamie Molony chose Rockville
This home was bought by our parents as a family gathering place. The house is roomy and comfortable and ideal for a family. Rockville is a 200 year old charming village full of gorgeous oak trees and charming houses. It is a five minute walk from our house. We are situated on a deep creek that has expansive views over the marsh to the North Edisto River. The setting is gorgeous. We are boat people so having a true deep water dock is very important to us. The floating dock is 40' long and has 6 + feet of water at low tide. The intracoastal waterway (ICW) and the Atlantic Ocean are both in close distance. There is a boat landing nearby so bring your own boat or rent one near the boat landing. Wadmalaw Island is a unique place. It is close to Charleston (about 35 minute drive). But it is a world away. It is protected, quiet, natural, un-commercial. However, you can buy shrimp from the docks and a few groceries at PM King's old fashioned grocery store; you can attend the charming Grace Chapel Episcopal Church or the Rockville Presbyterian Church. You can attend the 200-year old Rockville Regatta. You can visit a tea farm or a winery. You can have your boat repaired. You can rent a boat or take sunset cruises or nature tours from the nearby Bohicket Boat Company. You can drive 15 minutes to several fabulous restaurants. And if you need more city-life, Charleston is a 35 minute drive, offering all the shopping, history, culture you could desire.
What makes this House unique
In the summer we love to jump in the water, sail or catch crabs off of the dock. Adams Creek is ideal for kayaking and we have 3 kayaks available for your use. We also have made available a 14' jon boat with 20 hp motor which you may use if you demonstrate sufficient knowledge of boats and the water. Many types of boats are easily rented from Bohicket Marina. We enjoy taking boat trips to Botany Bay or Seabrook Island. We enjoy sunset cruises or sitting on the gazebo facing the western setting sun. We also love to sit on the dock watching dolphin swim, fish jump or osprey fish. You can quietly read a book or perhaps write your own. The set-up is perfect for cooking and entertaining. The fabulous, attractive kitchen is well equipped and has lots of granite counter space and cabinets. The pantry/laundry room is right behind the Sub Zero refrigerator and contains another refrigerator and a dedicated stand up freezer, Our dogs love to run through the trees. If you want to bring your dog, please discuss that with us. This is just a really nice house in which to spend time. It's nice to have everything on one floor, but then to have the ground level and the loft as places to escape.
Sports & Adventure Activities
Beautiful home in tranquil setting.
We found the currents to be a bit too strong for water activities, but the setting was quiet and peaceful and the view—-totally amazing. Could easily hold 2 families. Jamie was awesome!
Expansive Marsh Views!
Gorgeous home on the marsh with expansive views of marsh low country and sky. We have been staying on John's Island (mostly at Kiawah) for 20 years, and this was by far my favorite. The home is beautifully decorated and in excellent condition. It was a little distance to the beach but the drive is so pretty with winding roads and large overhanging oak trees with Spanish Moss. Excellent Stay!
Perfect for a Family Reunion!
This gorgeous property welcomes you with wide open interiors and so much natural light. We had 9 people spanning 4 generations and this was the perfect place for us to reunite.
Great Home, Close to ski slopes. Owner is very quick to respond and very accomodating
We had a wonderful time at this Snoqualmie Pass home. The kitchen is fully stocked - you will not need to bring anything! There is plenty of room and a fun game room downstairs. There are many movies and xbox games to play too. You will NOT be disappointed in your stay! Great location - minutes to the ski slopes. This was our second time here and we will back again!
Great location. Plenty of room for big families to spread out. However. The home was messy and unkept. Lots of personal belongings, inside and out, which made it seem like we were intruding in a strangers home.
We are disappointed that the home did not meet your expectations as we try very hard to maintain the high standards that have earned this property consistently excellent reviews over the years. After our follow up telephone conversation with you, it was helpful to know that your reference to messy and unkept dealt with trash disposal. We discussed this with the housekeeper who acknowledged the outside disposal containers were full. When pressed if she was sure all inside containers were emptied, she said she felt sure they were, but could have missed one. The house was used Christmas day by members of the family and your visit started on December 26. Because the property is located in a rural area, there is no municipal trash service, so we contract with a private firm to provide trash and garbage disposal, and it seems that service was interrupted and pickup days altered for the Christmas Holidays. We did not realize and apologize that it was not picked up until your second day there. The property is in a very rural setting, and sometimes the trash containers are visited by raccoons and the neighborhood dogs, and if the containers are full and not locked shut, these unscheduled visitors can really create a mess outside.
We do leave a number of personal items in the house that we think might be helpful to our guests. The home is 15 minutes away from the nearest store, so we do try to leave items that we have found to be helpful over the years for our guests. The house is a real special vacation home for our families. As such, we have a number of personal recreational items such as kayaks, a jon boat with 20 hp motor, life preservers, fishing tackle, oysters cookers and tables, charcoal grills, foul weather gear and a variety of jackets and hats, frogmore stew pots, children's toys and games, adult bicycles, lawn furniture, dock furnishings, etc. which we use ourselves and which we make available to our guests for their enjoyment at no extra charge. All we ask is that the guests care for and respect the equipment as if it were their own; return it clean and in the condition they found it; and return it to the place they found it. When renting through VRBO/Home Away we want our guests to feel that it is their home away from home and apologize that we did not manage to make you feel that way. We will review the home and see if we can remove items that may seem more personal than necessary. Thank you and we hope you try us again.
What a pleasurable week, we'll definitely be back
We had such a great time. We really appreciate the owners making their home and boats/gear available for us to use. You usually don't find that with rentals. We brought our small sailboat, and had so much fun sailing, shrimping, kayaking, crabbing and fishing. I spent 90% of my time out on the dock, even shrimping in the rain. The kids played outside the entire time, and thoroughly enjoyed everything. We'll be back in the summer so we can do a little swimming too. Thank you again.
This property has a fabulous deep water dock. You can swim, fish, crab right off the dock. We have a couple of single/double kayaks that can be put in the water; 2 single person kayaks, 1 2-person kayak, 1 14' jon boat with 20hp motor (certain restrictions, please ask). There is a boat landing only a few miles away. You can launch your own boat at Cherry Boat Landing or you can rent a boat at Bohicket Marina. Catch your own shrimp by using available cast nets in the a joining creeks. The 40' float floating dock is equipped with marine shore power(110v) and water connections. It is suitable for large boats.
