Welcome to our home!

Reconnect with friends or family for a fun-filled weekend, or spend a leisurely week enjoying the hiking of beautiful Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Synopsis: The road and driveway are paved to our front door. We have 4 private queen bedrooms, and a bunk room that's great for kids. We're completely kid friendly with optional bedrails, baby gates, and even a high chair available. Cooking is easy with a fully equipped kitchen and Weber gas grill. Huge covered porches, a 6 person hot tub, corn hole, horseshoes, tetherball, and a huge stone patio with a fire pit make Hid 'n' Timber a great place for socializing outdoors. We're 7 miles from the conveniences of town, 1.5 miles from Aska hiking & biking, a quarter mile from Blue Ridge Lake, and 3 miles from the Toccoa River (3 kayaks available for loan); there's truly not a more convenient location in North GA for outdoor enthusiasts.

This is a perfect getaway for the avid or occasional outdoors-person! Situated in the heart of Georgia's Aska Adventure area, some of the country's premier hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking is just moments away from the front door. Spend a long day busy with endless activities, and come back and relax in a comfortable lodge filled with things to do after dark.

We have a fully equipped kitchen, a bar for once the kids are asleep, and board games for kids of all ages. Wake up and enjoy your morning coffee on one of our three covered porches surrounded by the sounds of nature.

There are 3 full bathrooms, and four private bedrooms have comfortable Queen sized beds. The fifth bedroom has 4 bunk beds for the kids to share- it's away from the other bedrooms, so the adults will never hear the fun they are having! The master has it's own porch to relax in privacy, as well as a jetted tub to relax away the soreness of a long hike.

Our home is just a quarter mile to private access to Lake Blue Ridge, so bring your canoes!

ASKA TRAILS AREA: This area contains a 17-mile hiking and mountain biking trail system located on national forest land near Deep Gap and Stanley Gap south of Blue Ridge. Trails ascend to near 3,200 feet, providing vistas of mountain ridges, and descend to the shores of beautiful Lake Blue Ridge. They also pass through coves of mature hardwoods as well as traversing thickets of laurel and rhododendron.

HIKING: There are plenty of trails for everyone- easy to strenuous, young to old. The Aska Trails area is just 1.5 miles from the driveway to the trail head! This includes Stanley Gap, Green Mountain, and Flat Creek Loop. Not to mention the Rich Mountain And Cohutta Wilderness areas are just a short drive away!

MOUNTAIN BIKING: Aska Trails, Turkey Farm Loop, and Stanley Creek Rd. are all within 3 short miles! These trails are regarded as some of the best in the South.

CANOEING & KAYAKING: Beautiful rivers abound! Come raft down the Toccoa, kayak the Cartecay, or canoe the Olympic courses of the Ocoee, or just spend the day lounging on Lake Blue Ridge! Don't have your own gear? Outfitters and rentals are all along Aska Rd.

DOWNTOWN BLUE RIDGE: There are plenty of art galleries in downtown Blue Ridge, just 6 miles away, representing an artistic style unique to the Appalachian Mountains. You'll also find craft stores, antiques, cafes, and fine dining restaurants. The Scenic Railway also runs from Blue Ridge to McCaysville, GA, and marks the beginning of the Gold Rush in Georgia.

You won't lack for entertainment at Hid 'n' Timber of Blue Ridge, GA!

About Matt Webster

Matt enjoys hiking and spending time in the mountains for just about any reason. He has three young sons who will have many adventures in the Blue Ridge area.

Professionally, he's an technical account manager and recruiter.

Matt Webster purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Matt Webster chose Necowa Cove

The Webster family has a long tradition of vacationing in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. After relocating to the South decades ago, they finally decided to purchase a home in the equally endeared town of Blue Ridge, Georgia. They have a passion for nature and enjoying it up close and personal, and Blue Ridge, and the Aska Adventure Area was the perfect location to do just that. They sincerely hope that our home allows you to enjoy it the way they do.

What makes this cabin unique

This home is in the perfect place for casual outdoors-people. It's paved all the way to the front steps, and within 3 miles of any kind of hiking, mountain biking or boating. Furthermore, it's the perfect place to entertain, with a huge wrap around porch, and huge stone patio with fire pit.

Although the main attractions are provided by nature in the Blue Ridge, and Aska areas, we've enjoyed many a rainy weekend playing cards and board games, or even cornhole on the large porch.

Cabin was beautiful love the way it was furnished. The hot tub was the only issue. We did not use it. It did not look to inviting water and bottom was a little green. It rained a lot but that did not ruin any of our plans. I would definitely go back.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your feedback! We do try to take good care of our property, and sometimes renters provide the eyes that we don't have there. We have had the hot tub serviced since your stay, and of course if anyone finds anything unusable during their time there, we will do our best to correct it so that it can be enjoyed or otherwise make it right. Kind regards, Matt

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

Visited Crane Creek winery for an evening of wine tasting and concert, and last Monday for the eclipse - amazing! Harvest on Main for lunch, the Vault for brunch, tubed the Toccoa River, steaks on the grill, fire pit conversations on the patio... Too much to do, to little time!

Love the Deck space with ample space to spread out. Bunk room for kids was clutch! Deck at grill area could use a pressure washing.

Very peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at Hid N Timber! The cabin is tastefully decorated, and beds are comfy! Quality linens ( no scratchy sheets!) and just a very comfortable living space in general. We had everything we needed to make for an enjoyable vacation.

We would definitely return for future vacations.

A great cabin in a lovely area.

  • 5 of 5

A great location near the town of Blue Ridge. The cabin was well kept and comfortable. The table on the porch allowed all seven of us to eat together and the house allowed us to gather together or find our own space. We enjoyed the extras - the fire pit, the grill, playing corn hole and playing foosball. We hiked the nearby trails and enjoyed our time together. A wonderful experience.
