Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom + 2 Bath: Townhome (Sleeps 6-7)

Fantastic mountain views from this comfortable home in sunny West Vail. The home is conveniently located and is easily accessible to all of the attractions in Vail, but also in Beaver Creek and Arrowhead.

Your accommodations here are but one block to the free town of Vail bus stop, so you can leave the car behind and don't need to pay the daily parking fee at the Village or at Lionshead. This is especially advantageous for families with teenage snowboarders and skiiers, for the home has a front door keypad combination lock and they can come and go as they want, simply by catching the bus. You don't have to wait for them any more at the base, wondering where they are. (The bus comes every fifteen minutes during ski season.)

Your home away from home is three blocks to the strip mall where there are restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, fast food, hardware and sporting goods stores. A Wal-Mart Super Store and Home Depot are just two exits West on I-70. This is especially important for families who need to buy groceries or maybe a new parka for a child who has outgrown their old one.

The home features:

*Master Bedroom with King size bed and separate bathroom/shower.

*Second Bedroom with two full size beds and shared full bath.

*Third Bedroom with one queen bed and shared full bath.

*Living Room with fireplace and fantastic view of Vail Valley and Gore Mountain Range.

*Breakfast Nook with complete kitchen

*No smoking and No Pets Please*

We had a great stay here! Perfect for our family of 4 and still plenty of room if additional people wanted to stay!

great location, good size property, comfortable for large families/groups. Owner/Host was great.

Not much more to say past the title, other than the property could use some updating in terms of decor, appliances, etc. But it was clean, perfect location (roughly halfway between Vail and Beaver Creek, quite convenient to both), close to restaurants, shopping, and in a beautiful neighborhood. It was perfect for skiing, and I expect it would be beautiful for hiking, etc. in the summer.

This condo is homey and very roomy! Our family of 5 adults had plenty of room! Loved the fireplace

A very homey and roomy condo; our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in West Vail. Convenient location, just off I-70. Just bring your warm winter clothes and food, and you are all set to go. So much to do nearby: skiing, tubing, snowshoeing, hiking, snowmobiling, shopping, restaurants galore.

Great choice for our group

  • 5 of 5

We (my husband, my brother, and his two kids - ages 10 and 13) stayed in Bill's place for a weeklong ski vacation. It has plenty of room. We cooked in almost every night and packed lunches for the day. I hurt my knee our first day of skiing and ended up staying home all but the last day and can honestly say that it's a nice place to hang out in. The location is convenient as other reviewers described - access to Vail bus stop with easy parking and to grocery stores. My only complaint is that the kitchen is dark and needs more light over the work areas. (Also, the bunk bed listed and shown in the hallway alcove is no longer there. We didn't need it, but if someone was counting on that extra sleeping space, they would be disappointed.) Bill was easy to communicate with, answering all my questions and providing advice about transportation. We would definitely stay here again!

Bill was great to interact with! The duplex was a great size and everything was true to the description! I will definitely be saving Bill's contact information for any future stays!

A home in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this very comfortable house with a group of 4 - myself, my husband and two adult children. Everything we could possibly need was provided and the house owner, Bill, was never more than a phone call away and couldn't have been more helpful. Note: if you use the fireplace, don't forget to open the damper first! The location is to the West of Vail, very close to two large supermarkets (Safeway and City Market) and several restaurants (Westside Cafe is very well known) and fast food outlets. We drove from Denver during a huge winter storm and did have a bit of a challenge getting our two wheel drive Dodge Caravan up the very icy roads, we did eventually discover the least steep option and made it to the house in one piece! We skied/snowboarded every day, and took Bill's advice to drive down the hill (2 minutes), where there is free parking very close to the shuttle bus stop. This avoided the climb up the hill to the house in the evening - doable, but not fun as the only options were to trek through deep snow, or up steep icy roads. The shuttle buses were very regular, and the drivers very helpful, the trip to the slopes taking around 20 minutes (with lots of stops to let people off and on). We drove to Beaver Creek one day, and were surprised at how close it was. The skiing was quite different to Vail, not as challenging, and not as dauntingly huge! Once we got used to Vail we loved it, especially Blue Sky Basin where I (a 50 year old, Advanced/Intermediate skiier) had some of the best skiing of my life. The more adventurous members of our group were in skiers heaven!
