THE PROPERTY IS REFLECTING OUR MILD CARMEL WEATHER, AND WITH THE COZY, ELECTRIC FIREPLACE UPSTAIRS TO TAKE THE CHILL OFF IF THERE IS ONE, AIR CONDITIONING AND FANS UPSTAIRS AND DOWN IF IT IS WARM, AND WITH CONTINUING SPECTACULAR SUNSETS, IT'S ALWAYS A GOOD TIME TO VISIT.

This inspired cottage offers stunning ocean views and the rustic charm of a French Country cottage retreat with a designer's touch. Appreciate the serenity among Monterey Pine and take delight in the enchanting English gardens. Listen to the quiet, breathe in the mountain air, relax and renew. Whale watch, bird watch, and take in ocean views surrounded by the ambiance of this charming country cottage. Only minutes to Carmel and Point Lobos State Reserve; approximately 30 minutes to Big Sur.

Find comfort in the beautifully- appointed, cozy and spacious interior with hard wood floors, open beam ceilings and abundant natural light. French doors open to the dramatic ocean views and wrap around deck with BBQ and patio table for al fresco dining. This unique two-story guest cottage offers a memorable getaway for a couple, a solo traveler or the small family.

A fully equipped kitchen, with adjoining living and ocean-view dining area completes the open floor plan on the first level. A separate and private bath is off entry. Upstairs, our guests will find another open and spacious level with endless views of the Pacific from the king bed and daybed (converts to king) and from the comfortable seating areas perfect for taking in views, watching flat screen tv, lounging on comfortable couch and chairs, game table for entertainment.

Only minutes to Carmel, Point Lobos, or south to Big Sur’s wild coast, we invite you to enjoy again and again this beautiful Point of View.

Charming Cottage

Carmel by the Sea is a lovely place to escape to. Plenty of hiking, scenery, relaxation and comfort await you at this charming cottage. We hope to return soon.

Great place

The cottage was very nice and comfortable. The surroundings were beautiful. It was a great place for a honeymoon. The host was kind and prompt to respond to any questions. We would stay there again.

California Trip

The cottage was very comfortable with everything needed to make our trip enjoyable. Gorgeous sunsets with a very comfortable bed. All paper products, laundry detergent and even a pass to access state parks are provided. Judy is the perfect host, very attentive and graciously extended our stay when we had issues with our flights. If you enjoy hiking be sure to check out the Soberanes Canyon Trail at Garrapata State Park.

Great location with beautiful view

We loved our stay at Judy’s. It’s the perfect location to Carmel and Big Sur. The views when you wake up in the morning are incredible. Be sure to check out O’Callagans for a delicious Irish meal.

Sublime view from hillside perch

Romantic, spacious house in a toney, well-located neighborhood. Close to everything-restaurants, world-class hiking, Whole Foods. Well appointed & outfitted home. Even a park pass. Fabulous views from both floors & deck. Incredibly responsive landlord. Great value. Small bathroom in need of attention on 1st floor.

Anniversary Getaway

The Point of View Cottage in Carmel Highlands was absolutely perfect and everything we wanted. The cottage is so lovely, perfectly decorated and appointed with everything you might need. It is situated on beautiful property with stunning ocean views. We met the owner who was gracious and truly cared that we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be staying there again.

Beautiful Cottage

We LOVED our stay at Judy’s beautiful cottage! She was a gracious host who responded quickly to any of our needs. The views are spectacular and the neighborhood is amazing! We loved seeing the deer everyday and loved being able to hear the crashing of the waves! We would definitely stay here again!

Vacation stay

Incredible! An astoundingly beautiful location in an extremely quiet area. This lovely cottage is perfectly situated, comfortable and clean. Minutes to beach, Pt. Lobos and very near Big Sur route 101. Close to lovely Carmel-by-the-Sea for restaurants and strolling, as well as shopping area for groceries / pharmacy / gas etc. All we could hear from the house was the Pacific Ocean; perfect to return to after taking in the beauty of the local state parks.

Beyond expectations

The cottage, the property, the location, the owner (Judy) -- all were wonderful. We were there 6 nights and wished we could stay many more. Many beautiful hikes nearby, Carmel restaurants and shops within a few minutes drive, incredible night skies -- and more. You'll be lucky to stay here.

Great vacation!

We stayed three nights at this beautiful property. The home was lovely and the surrounding gardens beautiful. It was a great location. Close to everything. Check in was easy and Judy was very helpful.

Beautiful Cottage above the sea

We had an amazing stay at this french cottage! It was truly a beautiful space and you can’t beat the view. It is very cozy and well stocked with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Judy was very friendly and accommodating as well. It’s a perfect location that is close to all the great places to explore, we can’t wait to come back and visit!

We moved to Carmel in 1964 and never turned back. We love our home in this special place we call Paradise. We brought up our four daughters here and moved to the Highlands twenty-five years ago to enjoy the magnificent ocean views and serenity. My husband is a writer and I'm a Coach for families of children with special educational needs. We enjoy the arts and fine dining found within minutes of our home. We walk daily in our neighborhood and are always inspired by the natural surroundings of the beautiful Carmel Highlands. Our daughters and some of our grandchildren live nearby. They stayed in this small, quaint, artistic community to enjoy the friendly ambiance and the many outdoor activities the Central Coast offers. One of our daughters and her husband have a sailboat, where they enjoy day sailing and whale watching on the Monterey Bay. From every visitor's perspective, our little corner of the world beckons vacationers to return again and again.
