Relax with the whole family at this waterfront home in peaceful Reedville, VA - walking distance to Main Street/ “Millionaire's Row” & local restaurants.
Bring your boat to put in at the nearby launch and discover all that Northern Neck has to offer via boat or kayak! Pack your fishing gear and explore the Big Wicomico River and the Chesapeake Bay. You can reach the bay in under five minutes from the Shell Landing boat launch, where you’ll find great fishing, amazing views, abundant wildlife, sand bar hopping, and dock-able restaurants! Just 20 mins to Kilmarnock, 1.5 hours from RVA and 2 hours from DC. Come and see historic Reedville at the Captain’s Cottage!

Reedville was once known as the wealthiest town in the United States, due to its large income produced by the fishing industry. Fishing boat captains and factory owners, who made their fortunes from fishing, built homes along what is now Main Street.

Walk or bike down to the Reedville Fisherman's Museum for more local history!

Captain's Cottage is a stone's throw to Fawn's Cafe, and coming soon: "Get Hooked" - a new restaurant and bar opening this summer. You can also walk to Reedville Market and The Crazy Crab on Main Street.

You can pick up fresh seafood at Cockrells Creek Seafood, just a couple miles down the road.

Businesses in Reedville also offer sport fishing charters and regularly-scheduled cruises to Tangier Island.

Great stay!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Captains Cottage. The house is very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The coffee shop, restaurants, and the Fisherman’s Museum were within walking distance. The nearby towns of Heathsville, Kilmarnock, And Irvington or just a few minutes away. Great home in a great location!

Beautiful home on the creek

This home was the perfect weekend getaway. We happen to be in town for the fourth of July parade which went right past the house! It was a great surprise addition to our trip.

Trip Down Memory Lane

Family revisiting town where ancestors resided and we enjoyed vacation stays often over 20 years ago. Highlights were the Fishermen’s Museum containing family history, touring restored homes once owned by family members. Also got to speak with town people who shared relevant stories about Reedville and our family. We left with happy memories and info to share with our grandchildren to pass on to future generations.

A little slice of heaven

We had such a wonderful stay at the cottage. We wanted a relaxing vacation and that's exactly what we got. We had a couple of hiccups on the way, but Leah was so responsive and kind and made our stay so wonderful overall. She and her husband were great hosts. There was plenty of room for our family and each of our teenagers was able to carve out some private space for themselves. The house is delightfully decorated and very comfortable. The backyard with it's view of the water was so peaceful. It was also lovely to be able to walk to Fawn's Cafe in the morning for a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich. We had a great stay and highly recommend a stay here.

They have resided near Charlottesville for the past five years where they enjoy their secluded homestead and hobby vineyard. They have always dreamed of owning a waterfront property, and found a gem in Reedville! They couldn't keep this all for themselves, so they opened up their second home to share what this little town has to offer!

Reedville is a quiet, quaint little town with a rich history in the fishing industry. Main street is just a short walk from Captain's Cottage, where you'll find shopping and local restaurants [Reedville Market and The Crazy Crab]. It's a hidden gem that is held dear to locals and frequent visitors. New spaces are opening this season! Fawn's Cafe is a stone's throw from Captain's Cottage, and later this season Get Hooked restaurant and bar will open its doors - lucky for you it's right next door!

Tucked away in a quiet cove, rest assured you will find peace and relaxation on this property. Get out on the water via our pier, whether by boat or kayak! Enjoy wildlife that frequent the property and out on the water. You may get lucky and spot dolphins in the bay!
