We were skeptical at first since we had never rented a cabin before & didn't know what to expect. I have allergy so i couldn't stay anywhere that had a musty smell. Richard, who owns the cabin was very honest saying that the cabin would ok for me.
When we arrived we were absolutely amazed, it was everything we wanted it to be. Loved the rocking chairs on the front porch, had a great view of the pond. The setting was wonderful, you're in the woods, but close to town. It had a running stream a few yards from the cabin, loved that.
Every morning we were greeted by 12 Turkeys, unbelievable. Had every utensil & supplies you could possibly need, no need to bring anything.
The cabin was very comfortable & super clean. Chimmey Rock was close by with cute shops & restaurants on the river.
The fireplace was great, wish we could have stayed longer. Would highly recommend this cabin, loved it more
Loved our stay here. A couple things in the house needed some attention, but overall a beautiful house away from the hustle and bustle. Would definitely stay again.
Great place for the family to relax and unwind. Plenty of things to do onsite for the kids and grown ups too.
We had a great time during our stay at Eagle's Rest Lodge! We wish we had more time to continue exploring the area.
We will definitely be back next year, hopefully later in the season when the leaves have begun changing.
This place was fantastic, clean, very comfortable beds, roomy, just delightful! Absolutely would
Comeback and really want to return sometime! The only thing that I didn't like was there was no propane in the grill tanks, but not sure if that's really the owners responsibility to make sure there's propane. Otherwise it was perfect.
Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. I was a little worried about it after some problems we experienced with securing our reservation with the rental company, however once there, we were pleasantly surprised with how lovely this cabin was, especially for the price. The location of the property is perfect. You feel as if you are isolated from the world, yet you are still within 15 minutes from restaurants and shops. Our kids enjoyed the fishing in the pond, swimming in the hot tub, and playing the many board games that are provided. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals which is what we did most nights. The TV gives folks that don't like to be separated from their shows, plenty of channels. We took our dog on the trip, and loved that this cabin was pet friendly. My only problems with this place is there is no central air upstairs. They use window boxes which would be fine except one of the bedrooms did not have one. And not even a ceiling fan. Our teen age daughter was stuck in this room and it was so hot and uncomfortable for her that we had to go out and buy her an additional fan but it was still stiflingly hot. I would also recommend that they get 2 garbage cans for the property. When we got there, the previous occupants had filled the can up to the top and for 2 days we had no where to put our garbage. We had no choice but to put our loose garbage bags out for collection, something the owners discourage you from doing, but there was no choice. Other than that, we had a superb time at this property and would definitely recommend.
We had such a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was spacious and inviting. The beds were great and there were extra blankets and fans if you needed one or the other. My kids enjoyed eating fresh apples off the tree. We even made apple crisp with them one night. I also loved how the town was close by (6 miles) but far enough away you can enough the country. Looking forward to coming back.
