Great location, the house was very nice.My only “concern” was that listing says you get the entire house, but there is actually a separate upper unit as well. The accommodations are still great, I just would have preferred it more private.

Fantastic location, wonderful stay

We have stayed here multiple times. The house has a direct view of the Petoskey marina and breakwater and Little Traverse Bay across a grassy park. Easy walking distance to downtown and the whole Petoskey waterfront, a beautiful modern kitchen/dining area/living room and very friendly owners.

Great location and beautiful home!

Our stay was amazing, fit everyone comfortably and everything was spotless. The kitchen and bathrooms are recently renovated and the view is gorgeous. Also the walk to downtown is very convenient and only 20 min from the ski hills nearby. Overall this place was great!

Property exactly as advertised. Beautiful locatioon! My 19 and 16 year olds were able to walk around and fish, jog and explore everyday. My husband and were able to walk to downtown and enjoy sunsets every evening. One if our favorite vacation rentals.

This was our third summer staying in this beautiful rental unit looking right out on the Petoskey breakwater and marina. Two blocks to restaurants and shops; literally across the street from the Bear River park and walking path.

Location, location, location

This property has a fantastic location overlooking Lake Michigan with a beach, pier and marina just a few yards away. Despite the wonderful location it was actually quiet! We also enjoyed the two block walk to downtown Petosky and the wooded trails along a stream which were just across from the front of the house. We have already discussed another stay at this property.

Great property in a perfect location

We stayed at the JLM property on family vacation. Very good communication from the owners to help prepare us. Checking in was a breeze. The property was terrific; clean and comfortable. The location is perfect; right across the street from break water pier, bike path, beach and bayfront park. Our favorite part was the covered deck that looks out over the bay; wonderful place for family meals and morning coffee. We will definitely stay with them again.

New Years in Petoskey

This is just about the perfect location, with views of the water and walkability to downtown restaurants. There was plenty of space to spread out given the extra winter gear we brought along. It’s a short trip to local ski resorts with its central location between Boyne and Nubs/Highland. There was an issue with the cleaning company not coming prior to our arrival but the owner responded immediately to fix it.

Nice house so close to the town and pier. Clean and accurate listing. I wish we had more amenities like coffee, napkins, shower soap and shampoo. Also needs a bigger trash and more towels . Just easy little things to make it better bit still liked it! Sleeps 4 nicely. If u don’t use the pull out couch .

Perfect location and clean

We had a wonderful stay with our family of five. The kids loved the bunk beds and we were able to have our 3yo sleep in pack n play in the back room with sliding door. Bed was comfortable, tons of streaming options, and super close to town and the lighthouse. Wasn't loud outside at all. Make sure to bring small kitchen items if you plan to cook otherwise you'll need to purchase there, items like oil, salt/pepper, etc. Plenty of plates and pans though. Really great to have the laundry on-site and worked really well. Would definitely stay again!

We are Jeff and Leslie, retired professionals who love to travel and enjoy live. We have four homes (located in Galveston, TX, Northern Michigan - Petoskey, Southern CA - Ventura and a condo in NYC on the upper west side) all of our homes are set up as vacation rentals. We bounce between our homes based on seasons and rental schedules. During the summer we works as aquatic and waterfront directors at an over-night youth summer camp in the Poconos.

During spring and fall we typically plan a 6 - 8 weeks international trip, which usually includes 30 days of cruising. When we are traveling you may get a response back from our daughter-in-law Melissa.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

During the summer of 2008 on a road trip to an annual conference in Lexington, KY we drove through this unknown to us, placed called Petoskey. The 26 mile bike trail on the lake looked very inviting but we didn't have the time to stop and enjoy it. The next summer on out way to the conference we blocked out a day to rent a bike and check-out the trail. At the start of the ride we noticed a 'for sale' sign on a house on the lake. That night we scheduled an appointment to walk through the house before we headed South. We went on to the conference and as soon as it was over we drove back up and sign the paperwork. Once the title was transferred we began the process of taking the downstairs down to the studs and reconfiguration the layout to take advantage of the view.

So Instead of buying a mug we bought a house. We were living in California at the time and all of our family and friends thought we were crazy to be buying a house that needed a complete renovation in Northern Michigan. That was before they came for a visit - they now all understand . . .
