Mahalo is a must!

This house was perfect for our family! We stay at a beach house every year and this was one of our favorites. The beds were comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped. The pool was large and the hot tub was wonderful as well. The bikes and beach chairs were an added bonus. We would highly recommend Mahalo.

Only negative is that the air conditioning on the second level (bedrooms) did not work. I would also suggest additional Adirondack chairs for the back deck. Everything else was perfect.

Relaxing week in Corolla

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband, along with Millie - our boston terrier had a lovely week staying at Mahalo. The home was beautiful, clean and in a perfectly quiet and somewhat isolated location - which is exactly what we were looking for. The layout is great for multiple people/families and more home than we needed, but were loved having the fenced back yard and pool/hot tub for us to relax during the day. We spent each morning and evening walking the beach with our pup and thoroughly enjoyed all of the amenities that Mahalo provided. The kitchen was well stocked (with the minor exception of no scissors) and everything was super clean and the AC efficient. Quite cul-de-sac location less than a 1/4 mile from the beach. TimBuck II shopping cetner was about 5 miles away and the Harris Teeter about 8 miles. Duck was about 16 miles where most of the upscale restaurants were. We did take out from the Corolla Boiling Pot company and highly recommend it, and enjoyed a lovely meal at Aqua. Would recommend this home to others! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

For the most part, we liked the house itself - great location; great layout. Our issues pertain to the pool and, more particularly, the management company. One of the main reasons that we choose this house was because of the pool. Within an hour of our arrival on Saturday, we texted the management company that the pool water was very green and cloudy (we sent them pictures). We reached out again on Sunday and Monday, but each time never got much of an answer and got no action (other than run around) from the management company. Someone finally came to the house on Tuesday to check on the pool - she dumped something into the pool and said it would be cleaned up within three hours. Unfortunately, that didn't work as expected, and it wasn't until early evening on Wednesday that the pool water lost the green color and finally became useable. Once it was finally cleaned, the pool was great. However, it shouldn't have taken 5 days to get to that point.

Reviewer Comments: Waited until 6 PM to get into the rental, only to find a very unclean home with air conditioning not working. The house was 82-86 degrees the first two days. Countertops, flooring and carpeting were definitely not cleaned prior to arrival. The dryer does not dry a load of laundry for 5-6 hours. There were NO dish towels, toilet paper, palate towels, hand soap. We washed all the dishes, pots and pans, silverware and glassware prior to use as many of it all were not clean. The sheets on the beds were questionable of being appropriately washed, the comforters definitely not. I have rented many vacation homes over the years since all my adult children were youngsters. This home was by far the worst rental ever. I would never stay in this home again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Honestly not worth the cost.

We're very sorry about the condition of the home when you arrived. We do wish you had brought this to our attention immediately. While we strive for perfection, if we miss, we will make it right if we know about it. Regarding the A/C system, it could not have picked a worse time to go out with the heat we have been having. Thankfully it is replaced and functioning perfectly now. Hope to see you again at the Beach!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is well appointed, kitchen well equipped. The pool and hot tub were lovely, the pool was larger than most. The walk to the beach was 10 minutes even while walking my dog. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and pleasant for walking. There is new home construction 3 houses away but indoor work being done, so not disruptive so much. I think the furniture and floors could use a cleaning however with it being the end of the season we realize some of the deep cleaning takes place after the busy season. There was some traffic noise from the main road however not enough to be a bother. Shopping was within a few miles. We went to the nature boardwalk, and Corolla Adventure Park, kids loved it. Golf/Putt Putt on natural grass was nearby and a new experience. Due to the pandemic restrictions we did not eat out however did pick up seafood and pizza which were both were local and enjoyed by all. I was curious however to know why we were requested to be at the home for a Direct TV repairman. During vacation I may not have my phone with me, but I was expected to receive these voicemails and be present for the repairman. It ended up being a TV issue, not a cable issue so a maintenance person could have handled it anyway. The next day another Direct TV van showed up, he came to "replace all the products in the home to upgrade them." We were not informed about this, I offered to call Beach Realty to advise, however the worker declined and left. This should have been scheduled on an empty week. I don't think we should be responsible for outside workers coming into the home.

Relaxing vacation with family

House was pretty nice. Not far from the beach, and comes with parking right on the beach maybe a minute drive away. Pool was amazing. Def the hit of the weekend. Corolla for us is kind of distant from where we prefer, but that’s personal opinion. House had a few minor issues upon arriving, but after a call, was fixed inside of 24 hours. Was clean enough, but far from sparkling clean. Didn’t like the fact I got an email after passing the Duck reality location, saying to come back and grab the parking passes. Mind you, on arrival day with traffic, that can be an hour and a half endeavor to do. That email should be a day earlier so a customer can be aware to grab those passes before getting all the way up to Corolla. We would rent that house again.

Rental review

We had a good time except the air conditioner on the 2nd floor stop working on our first night They had to put window AC in our room and the living room on Sunday and then the AC on the main floor stopped working and they had to put window AC on the 3 rooms… the person who spoke with my husband told him that the AC was scheduled to be replaced… this should have been done before we came especially since this was a very expensive rental… also hated the carpet, it looked dirty …… they should just change it to hardwood …

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very relaxing week. The house is beautiful, beds extremely comfortable. Kitchen well appointed with literally everything you could need. Pool is large and patio area is very nice. The neighborhood was quiet and well maintained and a short walk to the beach. The only negative was the dryer was not working properly and we discovered towards the end of the week that the vent leading out of the house was cram packed with lint, so potential fire hazard there. It could have been a little cleaner over all, smudged windows and dusty baseboards in the kitchen. But really not too bad.

Beautiful, well-appointed home

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was so much room for us all to spread out. Especially enjoyed the "reading nook". The pool and hot tub were very enjoyable and clean. No complaints at all from anyone. It was a fine walk to the beach or a really short drive to beach parking - depending on your preference and how much stuff you were toting. Would definitely stay again!

Everything listed above, house , location, etc,etc was perfect.

We would do it again. Our family especially enjoyed the house being fully furnished, and clean. Family consisted of three children and spoused ages from 54 to 63, plus my wife and me ages 80 and 83. If we do it again next year it will be with an elevator..

Just "ok"...

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have been to this place before with family and it was great. I don't know what happened over 2 years but when we first got there, shaving razors were laying on the back patio. The downstairs door to the carport would not latch. There were multiple lights out in the house. The front door knob was about to fall off.. We arrived there around 3:45 and the inspector just got done and said to go to the realty company and pick up the key so I did and the guy at the front was very rude and said she was the pool lady and the inspector wasn't there yet. I said no, she was the inspector and he said no she was the pool lady. We will call when it's ready. So I leave. It's after 4pm check in time and 5 mins down the road he called and said its ready. He was very unprofessional. The place was ok. The pool, hot tub, and location are nice. But if you're paying good money, you expect a top notch place.
