Rainbow River Home - Directly on Main Dive Springs

Bedrooms 4
Half Baths1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 20-30)

Our 3000s.f. home sits on 3.8 acres DIRECTLY ON THE MAIN DIVE SPRINGS of the crystal clear Rainbow River! The absolute premiere location on the river! Why? Check the map! We are UPRIVER of the KP Hole - the county park where thousands of tubers (and boaters) enter the river and float downstream. We are on the widest upriver section with numerous deep springs located directly off the backyard! Swim, snorkel, scuba dive or kayak in peace without massive congestion. Kayak 1 mile upriver to the head springs and state park - the most pristine and preserved section of the river - and then float back to the house. The headsprings and first 1700 feet of the river prohibit motorized vessels, anchoring, fishing, tubing and diving, so kayakers are treated with the most abundant experience of wildlife, native vegetation and crystal clear water anywhere on the river! Or, tube about 1/2 mile to the KP Hole and walk back to the house. Of course, the adventurous can still jump in the river with tubes for the 4 hour float downriver to Swampy's Restaurant at the bridge take-out.

Stay with us and avoid the costs of renting kayaks and tubes, transportation fees and park entrance fees (not to mention waiting in long, hot lines for hours). Perfect for family reunions and other gatherings. Four large bedrooms contain enough beds to sleep 20 (3 Queens, 14 twins), and air beds are available for additional guests, please inquire. Flexible rates based upon number of bedrooms needed - and you are still the only occupant of the house (we just lock unused bedrooms to save on cleaning). Only a 3-day minimum and HUGE 25% DISCOUNT Nov. 1 to Feb. 28 (except for holiday weeks of Thanksgiving , Christmas & New Years). Use of 15 single-person kayaks, 10 tubes and a couple paddles boards included at no charge!

NO ATV's, dirt bikes, go carts, or other similar vehicles permitted on property.

PLEASE NOTE: We have just listed our other home on the Rainbow River located in the desirable Blue Cove Community (#575318). It is suitable for smaller groups (up to 8) that prefer a more refined setting over the rural location of this house for large groups. This home is not suitable for small children.

West Palm Beach

So Beautiful!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This property and home is such a slice of heaven. We had everything we needed to enjoy the springs and the beauty of the large quiet property. The house is fully stocked. The only thing we had to buy was our food. There is a grocery store right around the corner!

We all got up in the morning to the steam rising up off the springs and enjoyed our coffee on the deck watching the wildlife. There is a huge flat screen TV which was perfect but we had a hard time watching because we all wanted to be outside star gazing. There are plenty of places to eat in town. I recommend the Breakfast Depot and dinner at Carmela's Italian Restaurant. With all the kayaks there are to use no one had to stay behind and it saved the cost of renting them. A visit to the head springs via the springs or by car was so beautiful. We did both.

We can not wait to go back!!!!

Forget Disney. This is the REAL Florida experience.

  • 4 of 5

Spent a week with all our children and grandchildren in this hidden slice of paradise. If you love nature and outdoor adventure, this is the spot for you! The house sits riverfront and is situated on a large swath of old Florida scrub land with palmettos, oaks, and even citrus trees. It's like staying in your own private park with privacy fences bordering on both sides. Plenty of room to run and play on the land, but where you really want to be is in the water! Rainbow River is an absolute treasure. If you've never been, you need to go. The water is as pristine as it gets. A snorkeler's / kayaker's dream. Honestly I didn't want to leave the river. Plenty of kayaks and tubes plus life jackets for all are provided.

The house offers comfortable, clean, adequate shelter and basic amenities- everything you need is there. It's a no-frills kinda place, just as pictures and posts describe. The hot showers always felt great after a day in the river. Lots of room, seating, eating space and comfortable beds for all. The large covered carport is an added bonus for Florida thunderstorms that blow through - you can still hang out outside if you want. The campfires in the fire pit were a nightly event enjoyed by all. Stargazing, moon gazing, bird life galore! So grateful that this piece of old Florida has been protected and left wild for us all to enjoy. Teri is great and offered good communication before, during and after rental. Always available and accessible by phone or email. We would definitely come back to stay again at this property!

Great Place for Thanksgiving Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Lots of space, beautiful natural setting, large kitchen, sleeping accommodations for large family. Loved kayaking and canoeing on river, seeing Dunnellon. Convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, but like being in a park! Wonderful place to stay.

Great location and ideal for large groups

  • 5 of 5

We spent this past Labor Day weekend at this great place with 4 families, 16 people total. Plenty of interior and even more exterior space for all of us. Kids played on the river all day in kayaks and swimming off the floating dock. What a great slice of old Florida. Teri is great, very prompt and responsive.
