Great location and beautiful view

This was a fun house to stay in with a beautiful ocean view. There was easy beach access and lots of things to walk to. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Newport.

Well located with comfy rockers set in front of the ocean-facing picture window. (Window shades would be appreciated on sunny days.) Three bedrooms upstairs share a bath. Full bath downstairs with sitting room, den and kitchen dining area. The view is the huge draw with this house. And right in Nye Beach.

We really enjoyed this home - oceanfront, easily walkable to Nye Beach shopping and down to the beach. A quick drive to the additional bayfront restaurants. The home is older/historic but very comfortable.

Amazing view and location

The house is charming with breathtaking views only steps from the beach and the shops and restaurants in Nye Beach. When we had an issue, the owner was extremely responsive and helpful. We had a very nice stay!

American Classic

The house is amazing! If you're looking for an "original beach house", then this one is for you! Everything is in easy walking distance, the historic district is super fun. My only regret....I wanted to stay a few more days. Work said"NO". Bummer. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful house with character. Great location for our purposes. Within walking distance to several favorite shops and galleries and beach walking. Great view of the sea. Needs mattress replacements. Soon, if possible. One other thing: dining table had a thick coat of oil from polishing. Love the rocking chairs in front of the dining room windows ,possible

Great House on NYE Beach

Very nice well-stocked house right in the heart of the NYE beach neighborhood. The beach, restaurants, and stores are all within walking distance. Loved drinking coffee and sitting in the rocking chairs while looking at the ocean.

We loved the 1906 home with many ocean inspired decorations! The bedding and towels were clean without perfumed detergents and the kitchen well stocked with cooking gadgets.No spices or coffee filters, we left our filters for others.Awesome location, ease of check- in.Windows and mirrors could use a deep clean with a steam vacuum, as well as bathroom cedar.

Very nice place to stay. A true Classic. The stairs to the bedrooms are very steep so if somebody has difficulty climbing stairs just be aware.

Comfortable historic home with great location!

We loved this house! It has the charm of an older home and is perfectly maintained. The beds were very comfortable, including the sofa bed. The decor was perfect for a beach house, with lots of shells. The view of the ocean from the living room and deck were great, and access to Nye beach was easy. We also appreciated the cleaning supplies and extra spices in the pantry. We had everything we needed!

Wonderful Getaway to Nye Beach.

This house is the perfect location for staying at the beach. It has a direct view of the beautiful ocean and the fantastic sunsets that can be seen and photographed there. Easy walk to shops and restaurants as well as the beach! The wash rags need to be replaced; very torn and shredded! Overall, this place is very comfortable and well equipped.

Family Vacation

We do an annual beach vacation.. this year was Newport.. The aquarium was fun..the beach a blast..the view from our rental spectacular! My 6 year old granddaughter loved the parasailer that past by the window 3 or 4 times. Also learning about the big and little dipper that were visible on our first night.

What a view!

My husband, I and another couple spent 3 nights at the American Classic beach house. Great location with a stunning view. Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. Loved sitting out on the deck listening to the ocean and watching the waves. Coming from Wyoming that was quite a treat. Beds were a little broke down but we were so tired by the end of each day we all slept well. Shower has great water pressure and lots of hot water. Would definitely come stay again. House was cozy and homey.

Perfect Newport Beach Getaway

“Classic” is an excellent description of this beach home. This is an extremely cozy beach home, with an incredible ocean view. Nye beach is a fun, retro neighborhood with lots of great dinning within a few minutes of walking. We would definitely stay here again. The only down side would be for people who have difficulty with stairs since all the bedrooms are on the second floor. Although there is a sofa bed downstairs in the front room.

Perfect family vacation

Wonderful beach home with amazing views! We loved that this was in walking distance to cute shops, coffeehouse and restaurants. The beach is easy to get to (about a 5 minute walk) and so enjoyable to take a stroll out on the sand every evening at sunset. House was nicely stocked with everything we could ever need. Check in was easy and the owners responded quickly when we had a couple of questions. (The stairs to the second level are a bit narrow. My Mom wasn't comfortable using them, so she just slept in the bed on the ground floor. It wasn't a problem for us, but just something to keep in mind if someone has mobility issues.) We loved our stay here, and hope to come back again soon!

The view is fantastic, as is the deck. & so much more.

Good kitchen, and the three beds reminded me of the story of goldilocks and the three bears. One firm, one medium, and one really soft. The kitchen was well appointed and the refrigerators decent. Our only major challenge, was a cursory search I did not spot where the thermostat was. But I didn't look to hard. We would definitely stay hear again, and are considering a winter stay. Overall, the price was decent, and when split among couples, very affordable. Their is one Italian restaurant in town (Sorella) , run by a fairly famous chef, and with VERY reasonable prices. Nana's Irish pub just a block away and their savory pies are delicious. Next door to the the home is the Sylvia Beach hotel, with author themed rooms and I suggest checking with the owner/manager about their dinner options to see if you could get reservations. Excellent food and atmosphere. Have fun. We did.

The Perfect Coastal Getaway

We try to stay at the Oregon Coast a few times a year. Usually we do Waldport for the quietness of the beach and the great option of oceanfront homes, but this time we wanted something that we could walk to shops and restaurants as well as have access to a great beach. This little gem had everything we could have asked for! It is the perfect combination of funky, quaint, coastal charm, but with the nice amenities we all appreciate when on vacation. The best part about the house was that you can tell the owners put a lot of time into making it comfortable for their guests. The things you want updated and easy to use were: bathroom and kitchen fixtures, appliances, thermostat, and television. At the same time this adorable cottage was able to keep the unique old charm of so much of the home. Beds were very comfortable and my entire family slept great. Both couches in the living room and the patio furniture have been replaced since the photos were taken. This home definitely falls into my top 3 vacation homes for our coastal getaways. Coastal Charm, amazing location, specatular view. We will definitely be back.
