Pet-Friendly, Canal Front House with Dock & Add-on Studio Apartment

Welcome to Bayside Tradition!

This quiet and peaceful property features a dock and dock house on the canal, which, depending on the tide and time of year, you can get your boat in and out of. You can also see the bay in the distance from here.

Filled with natural light, the house includes an open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a main bedroom/bathroom with a king bed, a queen bedroom, a bedroom with two twins, and one additional bathroom. There's also a screened porch that looks out toward the canal.

Outdoors, there are kayaks for you to use, a charcoal grill, fire pit, and fenced yard for your dog(s). Also, it's only a half mile to the beach. Walk, bike, drive, or take your golf cart!

In 1957 my great-grandmother became one of five permanent residents on St. George Island, and to this day SGI remains an important part of my family.

At Bayside Tradition you can relax, fish, wander the dirt roads, or watch wildlife while spending time with family or friends and making your own SGI traditions.

Beautiful canal front home

Perfect home for a family vacation…it was well stocked and very clean .. we rented both the house and the apartment underneath… we really enjoyed the canal dock … especially my 3 year old grandson… he chased the little black crabs for hours every evening (never caught one but it wasn’t cause he didn’t try really hard)… highly recommend this home for a family with pets .. very quiet area and the sunsets are beautiful

Great home - great location

We come to the island annually and this was our first time at this property. We had a great time - rental was clean and well appointed with kayaks, beach essentials and a lovely dock for fishing and relaxing. Add in a golf cart rental from Journeys and you are well on your way to enjoying all the island has to offer. Property manager was so kind and communicative - would love to stay again. Thank you!

The check in & out was so flawless. Communications with the owner was great. She responded quickly and throughly. Having access to the kayaks was great. Only thing!! You either get top or bottom story not both!! It was enough room for 5 of us though. But would’ve been a good to know

Lovely Secret Hideaway

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here on the bay. The house is very comfortable with plenty of seating and recliners. Evening down at the dock and on the screened back porch were the best! The sunsets were gorgeous. It was a 4 min drive to the beach just down the street. We had no trouble parking at the beach- we did get to the beach around 9:30 am each morning. It’s about a 7 minute drive to The Blue Parrot restaurant- which I would highly recommend!! The kitchen is nicely furnished. The house was very clean. Communication with our host was prompt and easy. We will definitely be back!!

Originally from coastal Georgia, I've been spending time at St. George Island since I was 14 and my grandmother bought a vacation home here. I now own one of my own, Bayside Tradition, and lived in it for awhile before moving to Montana—for the 4th time!

I've been hosting guests at the studio apartment, Little Tradition (ground level, beneath the house), for several years and am excited to now also be sharing my home with visitors to SGI.

Although I've traveled to places objectively more beautiful or exotic, none have my heart like the Forgotten Coast.

I hope you enjoy your time in paradise!
