Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible Double Bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5)

Nestled in the heart of Glenhaven. This beautiful 2 bedroom 1 bath home is located on Clear Lake, and directly across from Mt. Konocti. Built in 1935 this lake front home has just completed a full remodel.

You can spend your days fishing off of your private dock, playing on your private beach, or taking the boat out for a little bass fishing from your private boat launch just 20 feet away from your large redwood deck with glass windbreak.

An added bonus is the small public beach adjacent to the house. At night listen to the wave’s crash against the dock and lap onto the beach. This house feels more like a beach house then a lake house.

Why The Owner chose California

I think this is the best location on the lake. The house is located on deep water, and directly across from Mt. Konocti. This is not a house on the channel or the keys so the water moves and is cleaner.

What makes this house unique

The yard is fully enclosed with the exception of the beach for your pets to roam around freely. The deck is fully enclosed.

Everything You Could Want!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place so much we ended up getting in touch with Lisa to see if we could stay even longer! The pier is awesome for fishing, I got two Large mouths on Senko Watermelons right off the tip and a bunch of Bluegills sitting in a chair on the private beach. I cannot say thank you enough for such a wonderful, accommodating person such as Lisa. Our stay will never be forgotten. Thank you again for sharing your slice of heaven with us. We WILL be back :-)

For future vacationers... You absolutely need nothing but food and drinks. This place has you covered down to taco seasoning. If you happen to see an older gentleman fishing on the beach next door invite him over (his name is Bert) you will not be sorry with the invite or renting this place. Thank you again Lisa! You are AWESOME!

  • 4 of 5

I lovely home with the lovely view! The patio is nice, the grass area in front of the water is shady and a nice place to sit and relax. The pier is nice and long and wonderful to fish on! We caught several on our trip in August! The house is very nice and stocked with everything you could want and more! We had a wonderful time.

Quiet, comfortable, well stocked summer home

  • 5 of 5

We spent 6 days at the Glenhaven Lake House and it was wonderful.

We weren't familiar with the area so when I rented it I didn't realize it was right off the HWY, which was a little noisy during the day but quiet at night. The house had its own beach but we enjoyed the public beach just on the other side of the house and spent most of our days there.

The house is so well stocked and has fun things like lots of DVDs, games, and fun books to share with each other. The kitchen was easy to cook in and had fun items like an iced tea maker, frappachino maker and an electric kettle. We made many delicious meals during our stay.

The neighbors in the house next door were very nice and came over to remove the trash cans. Other than them we were completely alone.

We did encounter our share of dead fish washing up on the beach and yellojackets were very present, but we scooped the fish out of the water and left them on the lake for the vultures, who really took care of the fish, and got a yellow jacket trap and that helped tremendously.

We would highly recommend the Glenhaven Lake House to others.

Nice Place!

  • 3 of 5

When we arrived the first impression was a little sketchy, the house that is off the street and in front of this house is creepy. It's not the greatest thing to see when you first pull up and then when we got out of the car to unlock the gate where you can park at the smell of the trash cans was overwhelming! Definitely need to get those trash cans cleaned out any time we needed to go to the car we held our breath until we got inside of it. It did not help either when we tried to sit outside on the patio and BBQ the smell would drift up and plus the smell from the lake was not good. I was disappointed since the deck looked so nice in the pictures. Another thing that was scary....we walked out to the dock and there were at least 20 dead fish floating in the water, I don't know what that was about but it kept us out of the water!! As far as the house it was nice, clean and roomy it had everything you could possibly need during your stay! The fridge was not that cold when we got there so we had to turn the setting on it to the coldest possible. I did brave the smell and scary water in order to feed the ducks off the dock every morning! We chose this place because of the dock and deck but didn't get to enjoy either, there were good reviews and it is a nice house so it's all about what you are looking for when you want a nice vacation I guess.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed the inside of the house, I wish the outside could have been better for your stay. I wanted to address a couple of the points from your review: The Sketchy Neighborhood - I understand how it can look that way but the area isn't sketchy. The same people own the 2 houses in front of me closest to the highway. The house that doesn't look very nice isn't used as a house it is used as a storage/work shed. I will be talking to the neighbors to see if we can do something to make it look a little better. The Trash - The garbage was picked up that morning before you arrived and the cans were clean. Unfortunately there were a few dead fish on the beach which my housekeeper was nice enough to pick up and double bag. She should not have thrown them in the trash and that was why the trash smelled so bad. I wish you had called me to let me know about the garbage and given me the opportunity to resolve the problem. I am always available day and night, and I have my phone number on the VRBO website and in the paper work I gave you. If anything was unacceptable I would have tried to address it to the best of my abilities. The trash issue would have been resolved immediately. The Dead Fish and Water - This is a natural lake and sometimes the oxygen levels in the summer get low which causes fish to die off. This doesn't happen often but unfortunately it happened during your stay. The Refrigerator being a little warm - I'm not sure what setting my housekeeper had it on but that refrigerator is brand new and was delivered on 7/18. The fall is beautiful if you wanted to give clear lake another chance.

The home is beautiful with marble and tile. Loved being able to fish off the deck.

Lisa was great and thought of everything. The clean air, wildlife and beautiful surroundings were just what we needed to rest and relax from the hectic world of work and travel baseball.
