About this property

Perfect location in historic French Quarter on the Peninsula - walk to it all!

Renovations have been completed…beautifully modern, completely updated bathrooms & kitchen! The addition of a 65" mounted TV in living room makes unwinding & watching your favorite shows a relaxing way to decompress. We provide a complimentary parking pass for a spot in the 24 hour/in & out garage just around the corner (4 minute walk)!

Huntley Lodge, a quaint townhouse, is part of an original firehouse dating from 1812 - adjacent to Lodge Alley - a narrow cobblestone alley that connects historic East Bay Street and State Street that is reportedly the site of as many as 50 duels.

Enjoy your own private courtyard (walled and gated). This small private courtyard is adjacent to the large courtyard with gaslights and a large fountain which is part of the Historic Lodge Alley Inn... ‘home away from home’ for many celebrities that visit Charleston. Two blocks from Waterfront Park on the Charleston Harbor - steps away from many of Charleston's premier restaurants, one block from the Old Market, and an easy stroll to The Battery.

The townhouse has original wide plank heart pine floors upstairs and down. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed and a king-size bed in the primary; both bedrooms have private baths, and the primary bedroom has a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. There are TV’s in both bedrooms.
There is a pull out sofa downstairs in the main living area facing the gas log fireplace and has access to a half bath.

The location is perfect for traversing the city on foot!
We do include the cleaning in the daily rate, as well as parking. So no additional fees are charged by us.

We so appreciate your patronage & strive to provide a wonderful lodging experience.

Sonny and Dean Huntley have loved downtown Charleston for as long as they can remember. Native South Carolinians who've been visiting the area their whole lives, they are fortunate to own a small piece of Lowcountry history in Huntley Lodge.

The goal was simple: a place to gather with their three adult daughters and extended family and friends, whether for a relaxed weekend getaway or a holiday spent together downtown. Sonny and Dean live in Hilton Head, and every visit to Charleston feels like a treat — a chance to slow down and soak up everything the Holy City has to offer.

They're delighted to share Huntley Lodge with guests visiting Charleston.

Why they chose this property

We are in the real estate and interior design businesses in Hilton Head. There is a limited amount of property like "Huntley Lodge" in the historic French Quarter area of downtown Charleston, and we found this opportunity irresistible. The location is second to none...you can park your car (or not even have one!) and never get back in it given the multitude of shops, restaurants, galleries that are all around you. The ambiance, history, and access to everything downtown Charleston has to offer are truly unparalleled. You can take in a performance at the iconic Dock Street Theater, have a world class dinner and stroll the storied Battery before following the cobble stoned streets back to Huntley Lodge.

What makes this property unique

Lodge Alley is a perfect blend of the old and the new. The townhome has been recently renovated so you can enjoy the modern updates inside or you can spend some time in the private, gated courtyard. Just a few steps away is larger outdoor area with a beautiful fountain and flickering gaslight lanterns. and the luxury of the townhome itself is evident from the moment you step inside. There are no less than 50 quality restaurants within a one to 10 minute stroll from your Huntley Lodge front door. You can have all the privacy you want or you can be part of the magic that is the French Quarter - or both! You certainly don’t need a vehicle while staying here but should you have one we provide free garage parking just a 4 minute walk away.
