Oceanfront Cottage in Belfast

Bedrooms 2
Space 600 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Surfside cottage sits just 100 feet from the high tide mark. This is rare along the coast and allows you to experience both the spectacular views of the ocean, and the sound of the coast. Relax to the sound of the surf, loons and harbor bell and watch lobster boats pass by. Plenty to do right at the cottage; spend the day on the beach, bring your kayaks and set out right from the beach, spend time with your kids in the playing field or sit and read a book on the patio or front room. Watch seals and loons from the cottage. Young's Lobster Pound for lobsters in the rough is 3 minutes away. It is also centrally located for day trips; 1 hour 15 minutes to Acadia National Park, 25 minutes to Camden, 40 minutes to Rockland, and 5 minutes to Belfast center.

This adorable coastal cottage was rebuilt in 2010.

The cottage and everything in it is new in 2010. It is a bright clean and cheerful place with all views facing the ocean. It is professionally cleaned before your arrival. Many people have commented on how they love the decorations and color choices. You can cook your meals in the full kitchen or the outdoor grill and dine inside with a view of the ocean, or at the picnic table. You can relax in the cottage where every chair has a view of the ocean, sit on the mini deck, or recline in an Adirondack chair. The cottage is so close to the water, if you open the windows you are immersed in sights *and sounds* of the coast:- loon calls, sound of the surf and the harbor bell, watch seals and shore birds...The beach is a few steps away and is a great place to sit and sun, explore or go for a swim (in summer!). The beach goes for miles with few houses and is a great place for a walk. When you are ready to get in your car and go for a ride, there are endless things to do in Mid coast Main

The perfect place to relax.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week here enjoying our third anniversary. It was wonderful! This is a beautiful cottage that sets right beside the water near Belfast, Maine. A perfect location in the heart of eastern Maine. It is very cozy and perfect for a small family or couple. Fran and Ellen are wonderful people who are always quick to answer or respond in the event that you may need them. We are very happy we choose this fantastic cottage. We hope to come back.

What a great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely place to stay...clean, tidy, and yet quite comfortable. Tons of places to walk at both low and high tide. Lots of choices in the area for things to do or one can just sit and watch the water! Would recommend this to anyone. Owners also quite helpful should things not function as intended.

An amazing cottage in an amazing part of the world. I've been coming to Northport/Belfast since the early 60's. Since spending summers on Penobscot Bay many years ago, it has never stopped calling me. The cottage was perfect. There's no need to leave unless you want to have an incredible meal (breakfast/lunch) at Chase's Daily or pick up some produce from their farm. Or visit the art galleries, and pick up some food at the friendly Coop in town.

Honestly, the pictures don't do the cottage/spot justice! You must see it first hand. We kayaked when the water was calm and checked out the nesting cormorants on the old buoy (?). We will be back.

The owners were more than hospitable, and professional. Very comfortable to do business with. Did I say, we'll be back?!

Absolutely loved it

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was perfect. This cute cottage on the water was beautifully decorated, had everything we needed and was clean. The views, the wildlife and location was great. My family has been vacationing in Maine for 38 years and this was definitely a favorite. The owners before and during our stay were very responsive for questions which was a comforting feeling. We just loved it and didn't want to leave. I recommend it and will be back next year. JoAnne G.

Fantastic bay front cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Our week at Surf Side was one of our most memorable vacations. We enjoyed watching the lobster boats as well as the loons and seagulls. We spent a lot of time watching the tide come in and go out. Very relaxing. The cottage is well appointed and very clean. We purchased live lobsters from Young's Lobster pound and enjoyed quiet dinners in the cottage. Enjoyed visiting Belfast as well as the other local villages. Hope to return in the near future.

Loved the entire experience

  • 5 of 5

Having not taken our two small children on a family vacation before, we weren't sure what to expect for our first week long vacation. Within 5 minutes of arriving at the cottage, the kids and my husband were down at the beach, gathering shells and playing in the tide pools and the tone was set for the whole week! The cottage really felt more like a hotel suite -- everything lovely and new - a real luxury when you also get to step right outside to the ocean. All my interactions with Fran were prompt, friendly and informative. This is a great property for folks with children of all ages - our are 5 and 3 -- and we had lots to do and explore. Maine is a special place for our family and the cottage really made the trip!!!
