This brand new farmhouse located on 100 acres is a great place for a group of up to 12 to stay in a peaceful setting and enjoy creation. With four bedrooms, two full baths and a rec room in addition to the living room, dining room and kitchen, there is plenty of room to enjoy some quality time with family or friends.
Coffee on the front porch, watching the sunsets, and being visited by the resident farm dogs are the top things guests enjoy during their time.
Since we live on the same property there is a good chance that we will see each other during your stay. We would love to meet you if both our schedules allow!
There is off street parking next to the cottage with enough space for at least four vehicles. House is entered via a keyless lock. You will receive the code shortly before your stay.
There is a piece of land that lies in the rolling, bluegrass covered hills of Kentucky that reminds one of days gone by. It is a place where the fireflies beckon children to come and play a game of chase; where a babbling brook whispers “come and explore”. This land, land that was created with loving curves and soft edges, teaches us to rest, to enjoy, to trade screens for sunsets and phones for fresh air.
We hope you find the joy and grace that leads to thanksgiving while you are here.
**Need to Know Information Before you Book** 1. This cottage is located on 100 acres, some of which you will have access to. There is a lot to explore; including marked walking trails, a creek, ponds, and just the overall beauty of God's creation. All of this is to be enjoyed at your own pace and your own risk. 2. This land is our home, as well as home to two other households. We ask that you respect the area around these homes by staying on marked trails (closest house is 100 yards away from the cottage). 3. This rural setting comes with a lot of perks and a few drawbacks. The road to the property is a small, winding country road. In the years we have lived here, we have never been snowed in but that is a possibility during the winter months. The property is serene and quiet 90% of the time. However, potential noises include; neighbors riding their four wheelers, gunshots from other farms, and loud vehicles on the road. The beauty of our land is that all of these occur a fair distance from the cottage and is often little more than background noise. 4. Two of the rooms has four single beds. One has two twin beds with two trundles under them. The other has a twin bed and trundle and twin bunk beds.

Incredible property that my family and i were very thankful to find. This property met all of our needs and was within close driving distance to all of our adventures.
It was a home away from home, comfortable and relaxing. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The layout of the kitchen-dining area was accommodating, with fully stocked cooking utensils and dining ware for families.
Love how it’s in the country. The views of homes on their road were beautiful. This house is exactly as nice as it looks online. Peaceful area, love the fire pit area. Really enjoyed our one night stay, wish it was longer.
Beautiful area, clean and tastefully decorated home, all necessities provided and where you think they should be stored. Not far from highway, but the road is very steep. Excellent communication through multiple avenues.

Retreat Near Ark - for Church Trip to see Ark
I could not get over how kind the owners were and how beautiful this place was. it was so nice, I honestly wish I could live there permanently. The amenities were amazing. The place was clean. The furniture was set up like a showroom. The owners were also amazing Christians. Our grandest expectations were far exceeded. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Hosts were welcoming and responded quickly. Everything was clean. It was quite spacious. We made use of fire pit. The road to get there is a bit narrow and curvy but the host gave us a heads up. It was not far from the Ark Encounter. We enjoyed our stay.
We loved our stay at The Woodlands and would love to stay again! The owners were so helpful and kind and the property was just beautiful. The listing doesn't do the view justice! It was a surprise to also be able to fit our large family of 8 at the dining room table and STILL have room to spare. The bathrooms were well stocked with linens (more than enough for our entire family!). The sunsets were gorgeous and the proximity to The Ark just cannot be beat. If you're considering this property, or one of the adjacent homes on this property, book it! We will be back!!
Country home located in the rolling hills of Kentucky. Very nice and very peaceful. It's a bit of a drive from the freeway and has winding roads. It's about 15 mins from the Ark, which isn't bad. There is no outside grill as depicted in the picture. But there is a grill like you might find at the beach or park. You'll need charcoal bricks, aluminum foil, and an extra table to sit stuff on.

Soul Refresher
We journeyed to Kentucky to experience the ARK encounter and the Creation Museum. We had two families with us - my husband and I with our 4 boys and my sister, her husband, and their 2 children. After seeing photos online, we expected the Woodlands space to fit our two families really well and it did with more than enough room to spare. What we didn't expect was how breathtaking the views would be and how the peaceful setting would refresh our souls. We highly recommend this location to anyone seeking accommodations in the area. It is sure to be a blessing to you as it was to our families.
The property was very clean, organized, and well-maintained, comfortably accommodating our group of 10. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped, and we especially appreciated the recreational space, ping pong table, outdoor balcony, and JBL speaker. House rules were clear and easy to follow, and the Wi-Fi was simple to connect to.There were a few minor areas for improvement. Communication via text was occasionally delayed, and I had to call the night before arrival to confirm the reservation and payment. A few beds were thinner than expected, and dishwasher pods or a sponge would have been useful for cleaning. It may also help future guests to note in the welcome guide that parking should be limited to gravel areas.Overall, this was a very positive stay, and I would recommend the property for groups looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
