About Maryla Cobb
Hello! I'm Maryla! Although I've lived in New York for many years and consider myself a New Yorker, I was born in Europe and travel is my passion. My vacation rental is more than just a business- I have been hosting international travelers for many years. I take great joy in making my guests feel at home and helping them to discover the dynamic and creative energy that New York has to offer.

Great apartment in choice location in Brooklyn
Quiet well appointed apartment on top floor of an older townhouse was perfect for couple with one extra travelling companion - it was clean but funky with a very modern kitchen and bathroom. Location was prime - close walk to subway station and East River Ferry that allowed quick access to Manhattan and other attractions in Queens and Brooklyn. Groceries, bakeries, restaurants, bars, trendy shops, are all within short walking distance in this old neighbourhood that nicely combines the old with the new and is therefore interesting!
Great change from hotel.
So much nicer than a hotel, worked out well and Maryla was very gracious. Wonderful location.
We just returned to Minnesota after a great Thanksgiving weekend visiting family in Greenpoint.
Thank you Maryla and Geoff. Your apartment is the most comfortable we have stayed in over four years of visiting. We would highly recommend it to others and already are looking forward to staying again.
Perfect base for a family vacation in NY
We are a Swedish family of 4 that stayed in Maryla’s apartment for one week. The apartment and the area are absolutely perfect to have as base for a New York vacation.
The apartment is comfortable and well equipped. Everything from beds to kitchen are of high quality. The apartment is well planned and provides good sleep and space for 4-5 persons.
The close neighborhood is quiet and dominated by neat town houses. You feel safe even in late night. You are within short walking distance to everything you need; metro stations, grocery stores, bars, restaurants and shops. Via the nearby metro station you can be on central Manhattan within 20 minutes. There are also a lot of things to explore in Greenpoint and Williamsburg, especially in the evenings. Both areas are dynamic with a nice atmosphere. Some highlights to recommend are the bars on Franklin Street, Whiskey Burger on Manhattan Avenue (the whiskey sauce !!!) , Sun set from Northern Territory roof bar, Paulie Gee’s on Greenpoint Avenue – fun, lively place - probably the best pizza in New York, late evening in Transmitter Park admiring Manhattan skyline.
Finally, Maryla is fantastic hostess that takes really good care of her guests. It was always a pleasure to have a chat with Maryla and her husband Geoffrey. They are such nice friendly people.
I can strongly recommend this place.
Quiet, elegant, well situated place in Brooklyn
Maryla's place was exactly as described and in photos. It was impeccably clean and well organized. The kitchen was pleasantly situated for lots of light and well stocked for our light cooking. The apartment also is very quiet and well located in Brooklyn. Wonderful place to stay and Maryla was a gracious host.
A Wonderful Gem in Brooklyn
What can I say it was the perfect accommodation for our family of 5. Maryla waited up and met us even though we arrived at 1am in the morning. Nothing was a problem. She had great local information and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable.
Green point was a perfect location. 250 metres to the nearest subway station so each day we would set off for another adventure whether it was heading to Manhattan or exploring local neighbourhoods.
The local food was varied and really reasonable when feeding hungry teenagers. It helped having a supermarket close by.
We felt very safe no matter what time we arrived back from our daily adventures.
I highly recommend and we will be back to stay when we head back to NY next.
The apartment is located on a quiet tree lined street. It is just two blocks away from all your shopping needs. (Groceries, banks, restaurants, a farmer's market, a gym and medical services.)
The apartment lies just two blocks away from McCarren Park where there are concerts, sport leagues and all types of recreational activities.
The place is a short walk away from Transmitter Park and its stunning views of the Manhattan.
