We've been booking happy guests for 5 years! Come discover Hale Le’a, Unit #301, our deluxe 2 bedroom town home and the island of Hawaii. The amenities such as bikes, beach gear and a large lanai (larger than the 2 bdrm/2.5 bath units) make for a great vacation.

Our Town home

After a day at the resort or roaming the Big Island, relax in our two bedroom, two full bath, town home. Unit #301 is a good choice for those wanting privacy with an upstairs master suite (King bed and adjoining master bathroom) and a completely private bedroom on the main floor (King bed and adjacent bathroom). Generously supplied with beach toys, kitchen supplies and luxury linens.

About the Unit

The well-appointed kitchen will please any holiday chef. It even includes an espresso machine so you can make your personal kona coffee morning latte. Our private lanai/porch is lovely for an evening meal prepared on your own Viking propane BBQ and outdoor prep center. For your media needs, the unit includes 3 flat screen TV’s with cable, a DVD player, MP3/Ipod stereo system and wireless internet. There is also a full size washer and dryer for your convenience and hanging rack for drying.

Beach gear included - chairs, cooler, umbrella, boogie boards and coaster bikes to get you there!

The Fairways complex offers a welcoming pool area with a kids wading pool and large natural stone hot pool. The fitness center has a nice selection of free weights and fitness equipment.

Like most people we savour our vacations and the time away from our busy schedules. The Mauna Lani Resort and the Hawaii Island is a perfect place to spend time relaxing with friends and family.

Why Jessi Zielke chose Puako

We wanted a place where: the sun shone most of the time; we could enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, biking; we could select from a wide variety of fresh locally grown food; and we could immerse ourselves in the true spirit of aloha.

The Fairways at Mauna Lani fit the bill! We've chosen to call our town home 'Hale Le'a' (house of joy) where all our family, friends, and guests can truly have a wonderful experience and create lasting memories.

What makes this townhome unique

Hale Le'a is private and well situated within the Fairways complex with a short walk to the pool area and fitness facility.

Fairways is a 10 minute walk to the ocean with access to the ocean front walking path along several lovely beaches and some of the best snorkeling on the island. We've also have a couple of coaster bikes that are great for riding around the resort or to the Puako store and to local beaches.

The Fairmont and Mauna Lani hotel with great restaurants and lounges are closeby for you to enjoy.

Our renters also have access to the Mauna Lani private Beach Club that offers gated parking, complimentary chairs, sun loungers, beach side restaurant and great swimming and snorkeling. Its a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive. For those with children, there are 2 lifeguards on duty from 8 to 4pm.

Besides enjoying your morning espresso on the lanai, one of our favourite things to do is to wander down to the ocean and watch the sun go down.

It feels like you are 'living the dream' everyday.

Just a short note to let you know we had a wonderful time in Hawaii. You have a beautiful condo that was perfectly appointed and furnished. It was a perfect place for Charlotte and I to use as “home base” for our trips to play golf, and go swimming, shopping and sight-seeing. We ate three times at our favorite restaurant, Caf�esto, and found some new golf courses that we had not played before.

To make your packing easier, the unit also has a cell phone for use on island, a hairdryer/travel flat iron in each bathroom, iPod docking stereo, coolers, beach umbrella, snorkel gear, 4 beach chairs, 4 beach towels, sand toys for children, swim noodles, boogie board, board games, decks of cards, and a rice cooker / slow cooker in the kitchen. Use of two bikes. Use of the owner's advantage allows access to the private beach club. There are several reference books, small loaning library and a loaner copy of the Big Island Revealed so you can find all of the good stuff to see and do around the island.

This was our first time on the Big Island and we selected this unit based on the pictures online and other reviews. It did NOT disappoint!!!! Unit is beautiful and well stocked with EVERYTHING necessary for a relaxing vacation!!!! Owner's instructions for using appliances in unit were easy to follow and manuals were provided but were not needed. If you are going to be arriving after dark, let the owner know so that they can leave a light on for ease of finding the unit as the unit number is not illuminated. Since the bedrooms are located on separate floors, it creates a lot of privacy and quiet space. We would DEFINITELY rent this unit again.

Elegant and Convenient

As this was our first trip to the Big Island, we wanted a central location that would allow lots of touring. Jessi’s condo was all that and more. The upstairs suite with huge ensuite bathroom was great; the downstairs bedroom was very quiet; the kitchen was stocked with all that we needed, plus loads of laundry detergent, soaps, shampoos and more. The gardens surrounding all the condo units were lovely, and the central pool and hot tub were very relaxing. In eight days we covered a lot of the island and it felt good to come “home” at the end of long days and cook using the very good barbeque. Lots of trips to the nearby grocery store ensured we were well provisioned for dinners on the lanai. When we reported a small problem with the internet Jessi immediately went to work to remedy that, even though she was on holiday as well. We couldn’t have asked for better help. Many thanks! We would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Had a wonderful time!

We had a vacation in Kona for 5 nights; really loved the location and the ground of Mauna Lani. The private beach club was wonderful; there are cabanas and lounge chairs on the beach; and it was never too crowded for us. We also had some excellent lunches in the restaurant there; and the snorkeling just off the beach was fantastic. We brought our own snorkeling gears but should you need to borrow, there are gears and fins in the unit. This unit is absolutely well stocked and very functional. There are various kitchen appliances and utensil, as well as condiments and basic items like oils, sugar, salt, flour, spices, coffee, creamer, pasta, etc, to make breakfast or any meal; we felt like we were at home. The outdoor grill on the patio was convenient and easy to use. We liked the area so much that we rode the bikes to the state beach park north of there, and brought the fold-able beach chairs to watch the sunset. The owners Jessi and Ken thought of everything, and they were very responsive when we needed assistance. We had a nice and fun experience, and would definitely love to go back in the future.

Fantastic location. Condo was perfect!

We stayed 5 nights in Mauna Lani. It was my first time to the Big Island, but my husband has been there many times. He’s a VRBO kinda guy and I’ve always been a resort lover. As this was my first vacation rental experience, I was skeptical. I was prepared for a heavily used condo, kinda like a rental car from a cheaper company. I was totally wrong. This condo was perfect. It was immaculate. The kitchen was well equipped. We loved that everything we needed was provided. No need to pack beach towels, expensive boogie boards (just to leave them behind) or beach chairs. They even had umbrellas, coolers and bicycles! Snorkel equipment was there as well. This condo is located in a well-maintained gated community. Parking was a bit difficult a few times. Mostly because we didn’t want to walk far. The community pool and hot tub were a nice addition. We loved the access to the private beach that was included. The owner, Jessi, was so fantastic. She was so easy to work with. This property is her and husband’s second home. They aren’t “career owners” that have multiple units that never stay in their own properties. This was a home and it felt like it. We will definitely be back! Wish I could give it 6 stars!

Everything we needed

Thank you, Ken and Jessi, for sharing your lovely home in Paradise! We rode the cruiser bikes to the beach for sunset, to lunch, to dinner, so much fun! We had everything we could possibly need in this comfortable, well-stocked home. The location is convenient to beaches and restaurants. The pool in the development is beautiful and quiet. September was a great time to be there. The weather was HOT but the beaches and restaurants weren't crowded. We would love to stay here again!
