I love this property and live right next door. The pool is relaxing, the access is super easy and it's a 5 min walk to my favorite spots, such as Season's Restaurant, St Clair Winery, Church Street Cafe, Starbucks, the Old Town Plaza with its historical buildings, shops and restaurants. Museums for all the family within walking distance. This is a great place for an extended stay or just for that romantic weekend getaway!

We departed around 11AM today (Monday) and wanted to let you know we were totally pleased with the stay. It was everything you said plus more. Everyone with us enjoyed the Old Town area, the people, the history, the shops, etc. We most ate our meals out, but did a few "in-house" leaving behind about 5 or 6 beers, a few chips, and a bowl full of condiment packages which your follow-on renters might find useful. I think we emptied all the trash into the dumpster,but left the beds un-made since we

We had a wonderful time--Six women sharing college memories. The house has PLENTY of room and is very close to the Old Town Plaza! The house is convenient to the Airport and Interstate so travel throughout the area would be very easy. We mostly stayed in and had a great time. Thank you!

Great House for a Family

My family of 4 met up with my sister and her spouse to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We stayed in this house and used it to prep for the main party (not at the house) and hold a next day barbecue with extended family (at the house). It was the perfect place for all of us to stay together - there was a separate studio-like area that my sister and her boyfriend could use and get their privacy when they wanted but still be able to use the rest of the house when needed. There was plenty of space for all of us. We could've had more people, if we wanted, and it still wouldn't feel crowded. The main bathroom downstairs had a fabulous walk-in shower that was perfect for showering off 2 little girls after we used the pool.

The house is very close to Old Town Albuquerque, which offered lots of restaurant and walking around options. The Church Street Cafe was nearby (one of the best restaurants in ABQ) and we discovered a little coffee shop called Velvet Coffee on the other side of the plaza that was in a hidden courtyard. It's an excellent location for families that want to be near activities but also get some solitude.

The kitchen was pretty well stocked with utensils, plates, serving ware, etc., which is unusual for a VRBO. We all really appreciated having all of these things on hand when we needed them. There was an abundance of light via skylights and windows which gave the house a wonderful atmosphere.

Sound carried pretty easily through some parts of the house, which was easily handled by shutting doors but it's just something to keep in mind when traveling with littles. There's also a very steep spiral staircase to the loft area, which could also be a factor with some kids.

These is a fabulous house with a lot of space and amenities. I hope more people get a chance to enjoy it!

Exceeded our expectations!

We went to ABQ for a girls weekend to relax, visit with nearby family and enjoy the best of Albuquerque. We were not disappointed! The house, located just a short two blocks from the plaza, is large, comfy and well supplied. We especially enjoyed shopping at the local co op and cooking dinner in the good sized kitchen. This house reminds me of traditional New Mexico casas. It has beautiful wood floors and ceiling beams. The pictures the owner has posted are very accurate. The family room is large and comfortable with an open floor plan to the dining area and kitchen. Although very centrally located in Old Town, the house is in a quiet area. The wifi was excellent. One night we walked (five minute walk) to a local restaurant named Seasons. The service and food were great! Another night we took a $15 Uber ride to Los Poblanos Inn. It's a farm to table style restaurant on a local lavender farm. It was one of the best restaurant dinners we've had in all of New Mexico. Some of our favorite moments of the weekend however, were sitting on the upstairs deck of the house, drinking wine and viewing the sunset over the Sandia Mountains. We will be back!

Albu-quirky

The good:

~Location. The proximity to Old Town was nice. We easily walked to the plaza (it's @ a quarter of a mile away) and all it had to offer in terms of shopping, museums and restaurants. Everything else we wanted to go to was in easy driving distance which made where we were situated seem very central.

~The hot tub. Great to be able to hang out under the stars at the end of a long day. It was a little hard to find (at the end of what we thought was the property's yard boundary, then through two more gates) but once Robert showed us where to find it we were pleased to see it was full, clean and ready to go. The bathroom/outdoor shower area that serves it were none too clean and there was no t.p. in the bathroom, but we never used it so I guess that wasn't an issue.

~Overall cleanliness. The floors, sinks, potties, linens & appliances were very clean. Not new or shiny (see below), but clean. The outdoor space could be spruced up and the furniture on the upstairs deck was dirty and in some cases broken, but it was all usable.

The not-so-good:

~"Old House" stuff. Realize that you're staying in an old house that's had lots of quirky updates (thus my title). The floors are wavy, the trim desperately needs a painting, the tile is crumbling, the fixtures are way old and there's a step up or down into most of the rooms. It's fine, just not modern or luxurious. The master bath is downright bizarre. You would think that sequestering the toilet in a separate area or not putting the shower in a tiled hole in the middle of the floor are common sense decisions when remodeling or adding on, but I guess not. Also there's a "sauna" room to the side of the open air shower that's not a sauna and not another room so ??? All the other bathrooms are more traditional in their layout so I don't know why that one was so unusual but we took that room so my mother didn't inadvertently fall in the bath hole, lol. Also, I know this is nitpicky, but the fake plants in there are gross. Either put in real plants or take out and replace the fake ones that are CAKED with dust. No one wants to see that while they're trying to clean themselves or brush their teeth.

The bad:

~On the last day there were several cockroaches that must have come up out of the drain in the bath hole. I know they are difficult to control but - gag. I squealed while my husband shoved them back down the drain. So just know that's a possibility. At least they weren't near the food. :)
