About Charlene

We searched for the perfect summer home in northern Michigan for over 10 years; Lake Michigan and Little Traverse Bay are treasures. We discovered Bay View several years ago and each of us fell in love with the community for a wide variety of reasons. The multigenerational, family-friendly community is a step back in time, were children can roam safely on their bikes, and the beautiful music of practicing musicians can be heard throughout the campus. This cottage is a rare find - true Victorian splendor with all the updates and amenities. It is our pleasure to share it with you.

Why Charlene chose Petoskey

We love the cool evenings and sunny afternoons in northern Michigan. It has every outdoor sport and beautiful vistas. Within 30 minutes we can be in Macinaw City ready to hop a boat to that beautiful Island, touring Fort Michimilimacinaw or traversing the Macinaw Bridge - the 5-mile suspension bridge connecting the Michigan penninsulas. Or we can head to several other quaint towns by boat, bicycle or on foot. The views in every direction are beautiful, but the sunsets over Lake Michigan sing to us. We've known for decades that this is where we want to retire. But we couldn't wait until retirement to enjoy this beautiful part of the country and its people.

Perfect Petoskey weekend in Historic Bay View

  • 5 of 5

Nine sisters, cousins, aunts and moms were so comfortable in this beautiful Bay View cottage. We spent most of the weekend on the back porch and in the huge kitchen. The layout was perfect, everybody had their own space. Four bathrooms helped with all the women! Every time I walked past the window seat, someone was relaxing there. We walked to the beach and found Petoskey stones. Spent the morning at Pond Hill Farm, shopped in Petoskey & Harbor Springs. Great memories, thanks so much for sharing!

Lovely Large Historic Victorian

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely large historic three level Victorian with a fabulous porch right off the kitchen. There is one bedroom and full bath on the main floor. The house has 5 bedrooms with 4 baths, plenty of room and hot water for everyone. The fully equipped, updated modern kitchen is the heart of the home where everyone congregated. The home is located in a quiet area called Bay View along HWY 31, there is a walking bridge that will take you to the water side to watch beautiful sunsets. Its a short drive to downtown Petoskey also. I would highly recommend this location.

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

Visited in mid August, for a golf vacation. We had 4 couples. Each couple had their own bedroom and full bath. Kitchen is wonderful, fully equipped with everything you would need. Wonderful covered back porch, great place for coffee in the morning. Close to town and wonderful restaurants. Short walk to the bay to see beautiful sunsets. We would definitely stay again.
