A few issues- but nothing too serious. Bed was comfy. Kitchen is adorable. Owner very communicative.

Guest was kind. However, her issues were not following the rules so that she had three cars there after I specifically told her maximum two vehicles. She added two additional guest and so my daughter stopped to see why there was so many cars in the driveway when she drove by. So no issues with the home or the rental the issue was guest being able to follow the rules. Rules are clearly posted on the site. I try and respect, be respectful to the neighbors and other guests with the maximum of two vehicles and maximum four guests. No
Unauthorized guest.
The property was easy to find, the neighborhood was quiet. It had a very nice view from the living room. It was fun to see how space was utilized back in the day. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore.
There is not washer/dryer here, and the HVac vents are direct avenues for the guests on the lower level. We could hear everything they said, and I'm sure they could hear everything we said. It was a little unnerving. The quiet hours for the house are necessary for this reason.
If it weren't for the great location, amazing views and super cute 1950's period decoration I would give the place a lower rating. I really don't know why we don't make houses like this anymore.
The outside of the house is very overgrown and in need of repair, it will make you wonder what you’ve signed up for. The inside was cute and clean. The kitchen is stocked ok with lots of pans but very dull knives.
*****The host on the other hand, was very difficult to communicate with!!! I highly recommend you take before and after pictures of the white furniture to prove zero damage because the host is 100% worried that you will damage the furniture!! If I could give zero stars, I would!!!*****

What guest failed to mention was that she had a party and over 20 people o extra in the home. VRBO and I
kicked her out of the home for rule violations. This is why she left this review. She paid but never stayed in the home was out in a few hours due to the party, yet still comments about how cute and clean the home is. The bushes are overgrown and the house needs outside repairs I’ve owned the house less than three weeks, pictures are 100% accurate and working on house as much as possible. .They had food all over the white couch and blood on the chairs, so of course this was a problem. Her concern with communication was because I would not let her stay in the home over the “misunderstanding”. I allowed early check in and gave her an additional night, only issue was her party and damage to home.
Like stepping into a time machine...in a good way!
The house was a fun place with a cool retro vibe. Old magazines, records, reel-to-reel tapes, and a kitchen that reminded me of my grandparents. While nostalgic and fun to explore, it also had updated amenities like WiFi, TV, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher.
Great communication with the host who was friendly and helpful.
A few notes for future guests:
Most of the power outlets are the old two prong, be sure to bring a ground lift adaptor if you need it (there are three prong outlets available in the living room and kitchen, just not in the bedrooms)
The downstairs is a separate rental, and while we didn't have any issues with the other renters, you could hear them a bit when one of them had several sneezes in the evening. We also received a food delivery that was intended for them, but I was able to catch the delivery person before they drove away...hopefully that got all sorted out. We didn't know how to contact them or find the entrance to the downstairs area.
No on-site laundry, pack accordingly.
For us it was a fun, short stay in a nice Yakima neighborhood near restaurants, family and groceries.
