Brookings Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

WELCOME! From the instant you enter the living area, you will drop your suitcases and stand in awe at the magnificent ocean and sea stacks seen a short distance below. Our condo is considered a prime location at Rainbow Rock because of its unobstructed over 180 degree view south down the Oregon Coast and west out to sea.

A truly beautiful few minutes private access walk along a well groomed winding path and over a wooden bridge to our private deeded beach will lead you to Rainbow Rock's own pot of gold, a cave with unique rock formations which are a geological wonder. When the sun is pouring into the cave colorful rocks go dancing before your very eyes! The beach has driftwood and sea stacks, star fish and mussels, and you will be able to have enjoyable long walks along the coast toward the town of Brookings. Access to this beach is private, for owners and their guests (that's you!) and more often than not, you will have it all to yourselves!

If you like whale watching, pristine tide pools, beachcombing, star gazing, sensational sunsets, hiking (the Coastal Trail is practically at your door step), and sitting in the condo or on the deck watching the waves roll in, then you've picked the perfect place--our balcony! Seasonally, whales stop to socialize with one another right in front of the Rainbow Rock condos, often staying for days at a time. They seem to love showing off by spouting and flipping their tails up in the air, almost like they are inviting you to come play. There is a lookout place just below our condo on Highway 101 (the Coastal Highway) where people pull over to whale watch. The fantastic Harris Beach State Park, just a mile or so away, has a group of locals who offer whale watching tips during winter migration to Mexico where, in the warmer waters of Baja, their babies are born.

Our condo is comfortable and family friendly. It is exceptionally CLEAN and well equiped with furnished linens and kitchen appliances. A gas BBQ is at the ready and a Jen Air stove has a grill. Everything from a popcorn popper to a breadmaker is available for your comfort and use. The master bedroom has its own bathroom and there is also a guest bathroom close to the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom has a double bed and a single bed, the master bedroom has a king size bed, and there is a hide-a-bed in the living room. Pillows are all in protective covers as are the mattresses.

The ocean can be seen from most rooms in the condo, exceptions are the bathrooms and the guest bedroom which overlooks the Rainbow Rock complex. The rhythmic sound of the ocean can be heard from the living, masterbedroom, and kitchen areas, especially when the sliding glass doors and windows are open, adding to the atmosphere of being at the fabulous Oregon Coast. From this condo highway traffic is not heard so you can enjoy the deck while reading, visiting or just watching the exciting ocean scene. This is a top floor (3rd) end unit affording all the privacy you could want.

Keywords: Ocean front condo, gated community, private beaches, beautiful setting, easy pathway to beach, Coastal trail behind property, close to town activities, golf, hiking & fishing.

About Ron Vogel

We have greatly enjoyed our condo for the past decade. Until we retired in 2006, we were able to spend many long weekends, an easy drive from our home in California. It was always such a nice break from my husbands busy medical practice to relax for awhile at Rainbow Rock. Crabbing down at the wharf in Harbor, just across the bridge from Brookings and visiting local parks and beaches are what we like to do. We also love the nearby Redwood groves, forests and lighthouses along the Southern Oregon coast.

Ron Vogel purchased this condo in 2002

Why Ron Vogel chose Southern Coast

We love the Oregon Coast! We also have a large family and wanted to provide a place for them to enjoy. We had looked at many possibilities up and down the coast and liked Brookings best. This area of the Oregon coast is called the banana belt because of its warmer weather. Brookings is big enough for good places to eat and fun things to do but small enough to not feel hurried. It is close to wonderful things to see like the Redwoods and small port towns. It is a great location and on the ocean, couldn't ask for more! Our grandchildren find lots to do here and love to come visit us.....that's a big plus!

What makes this condo unique

Serenity, beauty, comfortable, safe gated community, nice people to meet, short walk to the beach through a lovely wooded area that is well kept, close to town, fishing, for starters. Wild blackberries grow along the mountain pathway below the condo and we enjoy picking them to eat and bake a pie. The Coastal Trail by the condo leads to a lookout over the ocean via a wooded pathway that crosses a little bridge, It is a nice walk through pines and ferns.

We'll Be Back!

  • 5 of 5

The condo had everything we needed. It was so nice to come home after a day of beach or sightseeing to relax. It really did feel like coming home. We spent a lot of time out on the balcony. We particularly liked sitting on the balcony at night with hot coffee wrapped up in throws enjoying the crisp, cool, sea air and watching the stars twinkle. Some of us couldn't do the hike up from the beach, but Harris Beach is so close and has ramps all the way down to the sand. It is also close to the Jedediah Smith Redwoods, the elk herd and the Ocean Beach Aquarium in Crescent City. So, everyone from the 17 mo old to the 77 year old had a wonderful beach experience. We have already talked about when we can come back. I appreciated how Nancy really cared about us and wanted us to have a good time. Her instructions were great and everything went without a hitch! Thanks, Nancy.

Owner's Response: From wild, raucous waves smashing into shore to a gentle, glass-like sea, you will have the best view of all, at our condo! The ocean does have many moods, color changes, whale action, fishing boasts going by and we, like you, love sitting on the deck and watching the action below.

Great location with a terrific view

  • 5 of 5

It's all in the title, a great location with a terrific view. For the price of a motel room with two queen beds you can rent this 2 bedroom 2 bath condo overlooking the ocean. Thanks for a great stay!

A beautiful, incredible, comfortable, absolutely WONDERFUL place!

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough good about this condo. From the minute we walked in (and yes, the view is jaw-dropping), we were at home, comfortable, and enjoying the many niceties provided. The condo is extremely well-furnished with ample/comfy linens, towels, LOTS of cookware/dishes (hard to find in rentals), great internet, a super hot shower (!!) all the appliances you need to get going (coffee maker, toaster, etc.)....great instructions on how to operate/care for items and then what to do to check out when the stay is over. We will definitely return here in the future and plan to stay for several WEEKS next time, instead of just days. Brookings is a great little town, but seriously, we were hard-pressed to leave the balcony and the view once we settled in. The path to the private beach below is lovely; walking sticks have been thoughtfully provided next to the front door, so you have extra "help" if you need it...the path itself is fairly gradual and safe, but once you get to the bottom, if you want to explore the beach, you need to navigate piles of driftwood/stones (which we did do just fine, but be careful!) The view is just breathtaking every time you look out the window (which you have many windows to look out of...living room, dining area, kitchen, plus a large balcony). It's got to be one of the best views on the southwestern coast of Oregon. Sigh! These owners know how to take care of their tenants!!!

Gorgeous view, clean and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My family loved the condo. It was very peaceful. Even though it is a large complex, we hardly saw and never heard any other people. The view was amazing. The location is very convenient being close to town but just far enough away to feel secluded. We had fun exploring the private beach. The hike down is not for everyone. It would be difficult for anyone that is not sure footed but the younger people did fine with it.

The furniture was comfortable. There was plenty of towels and blankets and a well stocked kitchen. We would very much like to come back again someday. It is a great place to watch awesome sunsets.

Beautiful and comfortable place for our vacation !!!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home!!! Only recommendations would be to update the WiFi information in the final check-in document that is sent out via email and make the check-out information easier to find in the white notebook in the home. We recovered from both of these situations, but these changes might make the stay easier for other folks in the future.

Beautiful Views and Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We took my parents here for Labor day weekend. We all had such a great time. The condo was perfect and kept very nice. Nancy was so helpful and friendly. Could not ask for a better weekend place to stay and the great help from the owners letting us know good places to go. Thank You!!! The views from the pictures are what you do see from inside and outside on the balcony.

Owner's Response: We enjoy the interchange that we sometimes get with our guests. Great people have come our way, from all over the United States, many to enjoy the Redwoods and many to just enjoy our private beach and lovely ocean view. How nice to be able to spend time with parents at our beautiful Brookings, Oregon coastal area!
