Welcome to Casa Serena, our beloved mountain cottage in Crestone, Colorado! Casa Serena was designed to inspire peace and serenity within your life, both during your stay and beyond. With the quietude of a retreat but with modern conveniences to ensure your comfort, our goal is to provide a space for you to relax, contemplate and discover.

We are located just 1 mile from town in the Baca Grande subdivision, giving you the ease of quickly accessing groceries and dining with the tranquility of a more rural setting.

We'll make packing easy for you by including luxury provisions, such as nourishing shampoo and conditioner, soap, hair dryer, fluffy towels, down comforters, quality sheets, and extra blankets. Each bedroom has usb ports on the bedside touch lamps, and there's wifi for you to surf and stream on your personal devices. Have quality time together playing one of the included board games, or much-needed time to yourself with a provided book or yoga mat.

Our fully equipped kitchen comes with all the tools you need to create your own meals, such as cooking utensils, pots/pans, gas range, toaster, microwave and dishwasher. Begin your day with a hot cup of coffee or tea, on us!

Crestone awaits you with unique opportunities to explore. Only in the San Luis Valley can you hike a 14ner one day, climb up massive sand dunes the next, soak in hot springs to soothe your body, chase rainbows, be dazzled by the milky way, and visit spiritual centers from every major world religion, all in one stay!

Access to 3 hot springs within a 30 minute drive from Crestone means you can explore a new one each day. You can even see alligators at Colorado Gators or, if you're lucky, glimpse something more otherworldly from the Alien Watchtower, two of the Valley's more unique attractions.

Great place to stay. Very clean and all check in / check out instructions are clear. Only issues we had was the hot water heater tripped, but Isaline was onnsite within 20 minutes and had it resolved. Will stay here again, if we come through area.

Peaceful property

This home was perfect for our stay. It was very clean, peaceful and had everything that we needed. The master bedroom is upstairs, which was somewhat difficult for my parents to get too, but it was doable. Beautiful, quiet area! Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home.

Lovely Cottage. Nice and Quiet

We enjoyed the cottage and surrounding area. It was so peaceful for a much needed downtime. Wonderful amenities. We were greeted by several deer upon our arrival and heard the coyotes every night. Watching hawks soar and saw several elk.

Great Place!

One of the nicest units I’ve ever stayed in. It was super comfy and so well done. Loved all the small touches. The kitchen was well appointed and the washer and dryer were great. Loved the neighborhood - peaceful and private. Crestone is a groovy little town - friendly and the two grocery stores have everything you need. Would definitely stay here again. Loved it!!

A beautiful and charming place to stay!

We enjoyed our time in Crestone at this cottage. The place is beautiful and clean. It fit our family of 5 perfectly. The kitchen is wonderful and stocked with new appliances, we enjoyed cooking our meals there. We ran into a couple problems but the manager was quick to respond and make things right. This cottage is a perfect place for a personal retreat or a home base for a family vacation. Check it out!

Great Spot

Quick stay, but we loved that it was off the beaten path. Super clean. No AC, so warmer than we’re used to, but I knew that going in. Only surprise was the sheer number of mosquitos. Wow. But we used bug spray and moved along (and obviously that’s just nature and the season, certainly not a knock on the property). Would definitely recommend as a home base to explore the valley.

Clean and comfortable, very nice

The home was a welcome retreat from the heat and mosquitos. Everything is well-designed and easy to navigate. The front porch with rocking chairs was a nice place to eat ice cream after dinner and appreciate the quiet All windows had screens and it did remain pretty cool with the small fans even though there is no AC. They offered some sightseeing suggestions and overall it was wonderful.

Thoughtful home, exceeded expectations!

Two friends and I recently stayed at this lovely VRBO, and we'd recommend it to others! For three adults looking to spend a day at the Great Sand Dunes National Park, this home was the option that allowed for the best sleeping arrangement for the cost. Despite it being ~55min drive from the national park, it was well worth it to stay here! The home is quite remote and close to the base of the mountains, which we enjoyed as it allowed for lovely stargazing and a peaceful/quiet environment. The home was clean, the kitchen utensils and cookware were seemingly new and of high quality, and the drive to the dunes was easy. The high ceilings made the home feel spacious and airy. Additionally, the king sized bed and pillows were very comfortable and each bathroom was supplied with a microfiber face towel and cotton swabs. It felt great to unwind at this spot after a long day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
