The place was very clean and amazing. It was very quiet and tranquil. My son and I enjoyed the house amenities, large refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, TV, nice bed and pull out couch, and cleans bathroom and shower. As we were preparing for bed stepping outside to take in the millions of stars that lit up the sky like a planetarium was wonderful. Waking up in the morning to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and enjoying a cup of coffee taking in the morning sunrise and sunshine was a perfect start to the day. This is a nice place I would recommend this place.
I've stayed here multiple times and I keep coming back! Great location and clean, well-cared for property. I love watching the deer every day and heading to The Cloud Station for coffee in the morning.
This property was incredibly comfortable, welcoming, clean and easy to visit. It was a great home base for our visit to Crestone and the surrounding area. I highly recommend it and would go back in a heartbeat.
We loved our visit. Looked like the best place to stay in Crestone. We had multiple deer in the yard and were able to sit on the covered porch and enjoy the rain
Really nice, spacious property in the heart of Crestone. It was perfect for access to the Great Sand Dunes while being centrally located in Crestone within walking distance to the center of town and restaurants. It was nice that they had plenty of cooking spices and soap/shampoo options available.
Had a wonderful evening on Crestone. The Golden Getaway was exactly as advertised and the hosts were extremely responsive, even at an extremely late hour.
This place was just perfect for our family of four! Loved sitting out on the deck but inside was comfy too! The beauty and uniqueness of Crestone is hard to match.
Great little place. Located in the heart of town but is quiet and private. Very clean and well appointed. Nice front yard and seating area on the covered front porch. Would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our too brief stay in Crestone. Set up against the Crestone peaks, the town has a unique artsy laid back vibe. Went to eat in the only restaurant open ( it was a Monday) the cottage was very comfortable with a large kitchen/ dining/ kitchen area and a large bedroom. Well supplied, very clean,it was a perfect day to relax after a day of traveling!
We were there for the annual Energy Fair and found the location perfect. Instead of having to fight for parking we parked at the unit and could walk to everything. The deer visited daily. The stars out the bedroom sliding door at night were wonderful. Our host even left some fresh garden produce in the fridge for us. Unit A is spacious and felt homey. We were very comfy.
Clean, well-appointed and nicely decorated one bedroom right downtown in Crestone. Walking distance to grocery, laundry, Buck's Pizza (delicious!) and T-Road Brew Pub (try the Trashy Blonde!). House has great wifi service, cable, and all the kitchenware needed to do meals at home. Very pleasant stay!
Very short drive to numerous trailheads in the Sangre de Cristo range (we saw a bear on North Crestone Creek Trail) and only about 45 minutes from Great Sand Dunes National Park.
In town for group retreats at the college, we rented Unit A and Unit B at the same time. This gave the comfort of having good friends next door, but with great privacy, too. A nice set-up.
We did feel upon arrival that the scent of cleaning products in the unit was strong. But opening the windows for a while took care of it.
After a long drive to reach Crestone, it was wonderful just to walk out our door a block or two to restaurants and shops. A convenient, charming, welcoming, and yet unpretentious visitor dwelling.
Our first time in Crestone and we were fortunate that Elaine and Steve had just finished the remodel on their duplex and put it up for rent. We stayed in Unit A which has a large rock, gas fired fireplace. The unit has a large living space, well appointed kitchen and large bedroom . The bathroom was also a nice size. Everything was spotless clean and being relatively new was also a bonus. Crestone is really small and everything "downtown" is within very easy walking distance. Hikes and visits to the spiritual centers are short drives.
Unit B was also rented and the soundproofing must be first rate because we never heard a sound from the other unit!
My partner and I visited Crestone during a new moon to stargaze. The Golden Getaway made for a great landing pad - clean, well appointed, and easy check-in and check-out. You can see the milky way from the front yard! We would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area. Thank you, Elaine!
Beautiful, clean and comfortable home, but you had better be ready for a few "deer" friends to stop over. The property has apple trees on it and the deer just love to look for new fallen apples. Actually, we took fantastic close-up pictures of our new friends. We completely enjoyed our stay!
