Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)
Leave behind crowds and commotion of your everyday life and enjoy all that Sierras have to offer from our spacious cabin in the woods.
Wake up to the chirping of birds, pecking of woodpeckers, or the sight of snowflakes floating gently past your bedroom window. Step outside and take a full breath of air smelling of pine and cedar. Listen to the sounds of the forest. Take a brisk walk up the driveway to a clearing from which unfolds a beautiful view of forest and mountains to the west (great spot to watch sunsets, too.)
What will it be today? A day trip to Yosemite? A drive up to the High Sierras? Swimming or kayaking on Lake Pinecrest? Skiing or snowboarding at Dodgeridge, or sledding at Little Sweden? Or maybe you will leave your car behind and hike or ride your bike on the nearby trails?
The possibilities are endless. Quaint Twain Harte with its stores, restaurants, golf course, miniature golf and a nice playground for kids is only 3 miles away. Sonora (malls, restaurants, movie theater, antique shops) is about 10 miles due west. Nearby Sonora is Columbia State Historic Park where you can step back in time to the Gold Rush era and ride a stage coach, pan for gold, or enjoy ice-cold sarsaparilla at the saloon. A bit further away are Big Trees State Park, Moaning Caverns, and Angel's Camp. And don't forget exploring the high country further up highway 108, beyond the town of Strawberry. There you will find the Dardanelles, Kennedy Meadows Resort and Pack Station, and the Sonora Pass. Whether you stay a weekend or a week, you will not run out of things to do.
What makes our cabin truly unique are the 13 acres of pine, fir, and cedar forest on which it is situated, surrounded by acres and acres of state and private forest, which is crisscrossed by logging roads which double as hiking/biking/horseback riding/cross-country skiing trails. There are trails running to commercial areas of Sugar Pine (check out Kelly's Kitchen) and Mi-Wuk (both about 15 minutes walk) as well as to Lyon's Dam, and, from what I hear, all the way to Strawberry. In the winter, a 1/5 mile driveway doubles as a private sled run, not too steep for little kids, yet long enough for grown-ups
Inside the cabin, you will find two bedroom wings, each with 2 bedrooms, making it easy for 2 or 3 families to enjoy staying there at one time. One wing has a master bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed and an adjoining bathroom. A small bedroom with 2 twin beds adjoins the master bedroom. This setup is great for a family with younger kids. The other wing has two bedrooms (each with two twin beds), a full bathroom with shower and tub, and a sitting area with 6-foot tall windows which allow you to enjoy the sight of outdoors while staying in.
The huge living/dining room sports high wood ceiling, a wood-burning fireplace (in front of which we spent many an evening after a day of skiing or sledding) and a TV with a VCR and a DVD player.
Next to the fully appointed kitchen, there is a laundry room with a washer and a dryer and a breakfast nook which will accommodate 6-8 people.
Downstairs, there is a large family room with a game table (air hockey, pool, and ping-pong) and a TV with a VCR as well as bunk beds and 2 futons. A gas fireplace tucked in the corner will keep you nice and cozy. Adjoining the family room is a full bathroom with shower.
It's a great cabin in a great location. Come and enjoy it, and bring a friend or two.

About Andre Kruglikov
I am a software developer, and after days (and sometimes nights) spent in front of a computer, I always look forward to the space and the solitude I find at our cabin. I love taking long hikes or bike rides through the forest, exploring different trails. In the summer, Lake Pinecrest is great for swimming or kayaking and a 5-mile hike around the lake is reasonably strenuous with plenty of spots to stop, take a swim in the lake and enjoy the scenery. In the winter, we head up to Dodgeridge for skiing or snowshoeing or to Little Sweden for sledding (there is no lift, and you get plenty of exercise hiking up the hill, but the ride down is well worth it.)
Andre Kruglikov purchased this Cabin in 2002
Why Andre Kruglikov chose Mi-Wuk Village
My better half was almost born in Long Barn, and their family has been vacationing in that area almost every year. When we happened on this cabin, we loved the space, the solitude and the proximity to Lake Pinecrest and to Dodgeridge.
What makes this Cabin unique
This is a great place to unwind and relax, with plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors for a large group of people.

Gorgeous area, great accommodations, and lots to do in the area.
The driveway is set directly off 108 hwy, pretty easy to find with the given directions. The greatest part is that the cabin sits back from the highway far enough to still keep it feeling like cabin camping. ( If needed a local convenience store is a mere 5 min drive). We brought a few cooking utensils that we found we're not needed( very well accommodated kitchen, cooking area and all the cookware needed.)
We had a bit of rain which didn't deter us from a quick 15 min drive to pinecrest which offered an amazing amount of snow left for kid play. As well as an easy 5 mile hike around the lake.
The open wilderness around the cabin is exceptional , our last day offered plenty of sun in the evening and we explored the Forrest around the cabin ( slightly down hill is Forrest trail I16-21 that is a beautiful easy walk along a maintained path and stream/ waterway system.)
The afternoon In the cabin was relaxing, large windows face a large opening near parking to watch kids play Frisbee, kickball, tag and adventure in the front , allowing adults to prep dinner or relax and read in the East wing on wicker chairs while still supervising.
The evening offered a downstairs game area, ( many games, but I recommend bringing some of your own , as you can imagine some parts or pieces go missing over the years.) We brought twister, Scrabble and few others which made evenings in the den and game room very competitive.
We can't say enough about how great the experience was, we will definitely plan a return trip ( perhaps with another family, there is plenty of beds and bathrooms, plus we never seemed to run out of hot water :-))
Thank you Andre and family for a wonderful spot to enjoy our trip.
Great Winter Getaway!
The owner is very communicative and encouraged us to bring chains the weekend we were driving up. This turned out to be very good advice! The cabin is spacious, especially the living room and kitchen. We had everything we could possibly need. The driveway doubled as a private sled run, which was perfect for a family with young children. I can't say enough good things about the property and the owner, we hope to be back soon!
A lot space,beautiful views

Great Family Mountain Getaway
We had the best Family Thanksgiving at this secluded, quiet, Mountain Getaway!
The kitchen was stocked with more than enough utensils to cook & eat a large Thanksgiving Feast. Everything from a large refrigerator to a large dutch oven, to pots & pans, to dinnerware, 2 microwaves, and plenty of knives & serving spoons, even potatoe pealers!
We had the best time, enjoying the beauty, serenity, & seclusion of the mountains, but, with a market & "civilization" just a short drive up the road.
Plenty of bedrooms, beds, & bedding available for a large get together, all for a great price!
Andre, the owner, was very responsive to all emails and questions. It was apparent that he genuinely cares about your enjoyment.
We are already planning our next trip, and would highly recommend this cabin in the woods for anyone that wants to get away from it all.
