Located on 2 acres, with 150 feet of water front on beautiful and historic Mobile Bay, this is a great place to watch the boats go by on the intercoastal, fish, crab or enjoy the nearby white sandy beaches. The location is secluded and very private, although high levels of activities are just a few minutes away.

A 16 mile boat ride to the West will put you at Fort Morgan and the Mouth of Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. A bit further West and you are at Dauphin Island. Some of the best in-shore and off-shore fishing and crabbing are right at your finger tips.

The Little House by the Bay is a 1,000 square foot cottage with a large great room (den kitchen) and a very large bedroom with a king size bed, and a bunk bed. Liked the extra poles and crab trap. Used them all week.

I liked the house very much. Quiet yet close enough to the beaches. We fished off the dock and caught a few smaller fish. The family also loved it. Liked the lay out of the house..nice airconditioning and the screened porch was great.

The seclusion of the the property setting was everything we were hoping for. Watching the wildlife and water was so relaxing. The homeowners put a lot of time and effort in upkeep. We truly felt at home here.

Peaceful

  • 3 of 5

Rustic cottage away from tourist hub. This relaxing getaway would be greatly enhanced by a "freshening-up" & a good household cleaning.

Owner's Response: David, Thank you for your feedback, and for being a repeat customer for us! We love specific recommendations, and as I emailed privately, we look forward to yours. We usually implement specific suggestions from our guests.. The house had a major upgrade 15 years ago with all new mill work, cabinets floors, walls, HVAC, plumbing, bath room fixtures, furniture and complete kitchen. It has survived literally dozens of hurricanes, including Fredrick, Ivan and Katrina. It is a masonry structure and virtual fortress. After the flood of Katrina, it got 6 inches of water in it, however we were able to quickly make repairs and put it back in good shape. It is clean and well kept, as the other guests comments confirm. It is a house that is over 100 years old, clean, well kept, with character and charm, and in a beautiful setting. Thanks again for staying with us. Donny
