Travel West Cliff in one direction for less than a mile to arrive at one of the most famous surf spots in the world, Steamer Lane, right at Lighthouse Point and Surfing Museum. From there the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Main Beach and Municipal Wharf are a ten minute walk (see our map on this page).Heading in the opposite direction on West Cliff brings you to Natural Bridges State Park and Beach. Weather/Climate in Santa Cruz has mild weather throughout the year, enjoying a warm-summer mediterranean climate characterized by cool, wet winters and warm, mostly dry summers. Due to its proximity to Monterey Bay, fog and low overcast are common during the night and morning hours, especially in the summer. Bring a light jacket, sweatshirt for mornings and evenings in summer! Many guests return from their vacation with a Santa Cruz sweatshirt (our local uniform!).
