Welcome to your private family home in paradise, located in the secure gated community of Playacar in Playa del Carmen. Privately situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, this spacious home offers comfort, privacy, and peace of mind—just a short walk to the beach and Playa’s famous 5th Avenue.

The home features 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, making it ideal for families or groups. The spacious primary suite includes a king-size bed, extra room to relax, a private en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower and rainfall showerhead, and a private patio. An adjoining bedroom connected to the primary suite makes this layout especially convenient for families traveling with children.

Beautiful house comfortable for a large groupI vacationed for a month with several family members from 4 to 75. Close to town for shopping. Right on the golf course. The pool was fantastic and we swam almost every day. The bonus bedroom right off the master was fantastic and my granddaughter claimed it as her own. This is the 2nd time we stayed at Casa Phyllis and it was great. The house and property were very clean and ready for our group upon arrival. A tip for anyone wanting to rent this home; it’s very spacious and roomy for a large traveling group. The pool is on the smaller side but sufficient and beautiful. The house having its own private pool was a totally plus!Downtown PDC is a quick 10 minute walk from the house which is very convenient. Half the time we didn’t even use our car rental because walking was a better option. We went to the local market and made breakfast daily. The pots/utensils/silverware were much appreciated. The kitchen is very well stocked with supplies to cook with as well. We also utilized the washer and dryer which came in handy. Our host was helpful and quick to reply with our inquiries.This rental was one of the highlights of our trip!

Very quiet neighborhood. Pool and grounds were cleaned regularly. Viva Palapa and Labrioche were excellent dining options and very close. A simple walk down the golf cart path. Beach is about a ten minute walk, a bit less if you use one of the bikes.Highly recommended

Six Star Home!!!

This was an amazing home. Beautifully designed and decorated. Please ignore negative comments about not having a dishwasher in the home. The benefits far outweigh the minor inconvenience. The pool was wonderful. House is conveniently located close to stores and restaurants. A real winner in our opinion!

Thanksgiving holiday

We had a pleasant time at this property. Plenty of rooms for everyone. Kitchen was a bit tight for the number of people using the condo. Check-in was tough - no communication prior to, so we didn't get the wrist bands until three days after we arrived, and the manager had the wrong time for both check-in and check out.

Love the house. Love the location. Love the neighborhood. Only issue going in or out on the main gate long lines to get through it. It takes forever to get through. Recommend instead of bracelets my be able to provide a controller to access security gate

A wonderful family getaway

Lovely home, plenty of room for everyone. Especially like the master bedroom. NOTE - we did not use the living room downstairs because we found a scorpion and the sofa was infested with gusanos (little worm-like creatures), so we ended up using the master bedroom as a living room. I believe the house needs a good fumigation. However, that being said, we very much enjoyed our family vacation! Thank you for the hospitality. Kimberly

We rented Casa Phillys for a one week girl's getaway. The house was spacious with its own pool. We felt very secure in the gated community of Playacar. No need for a car. We walked the short distance to 5th Ave. everyday and not a bad walk to the beach. The house was very clean and the cleaning staff came in mid week and washed and changed sheets and towels! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Casa Phillys for your vacation to Playa del Carmen.

Most peaceful spot in Playacar

My family has stayed in Playacar Fase 1 & Fase 2. We have been in all-inclusive resorts, condos, and this home. Casa Phyllis in by far the most peaceful and relaxing spots for my family. The private pool and hammock are great for spending quite afternoons with the family. The beach is a short walk, but far enough off of the main road to avoid traffic and pedestrian noise. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and Rappi will quickly bring food from any restaurant you would like. The mesh internet is the best internet we have experienced in Playacar. My family has stayed in Casa Phyllis twice now for a total of about 20 days and plan to return annually. Peaceful, safe, and perfect for families.

Lovely location

The pros: location is fantastic, nice amenities (pool, washer/dryer, stocked kitchen, beach chairs and bike available for use, pool floaties), big enough for a large family. The cons: the house is tired and feels like it's been a vacation rental for 10 years without any upgrades. The beds are not good quality or comfortable, cheap sheets/linens, old couches, washing machine needs to be repaired, bikes that were provided had flat tires and need repairs, hot water tank squeals and is very loud, one cheap plastic lounger by the pool, etc. It is Mexico but at the same time, the home is on the expensive side so we expected a little better quality.

Nice house in a good location, but...

Overall, we liked the house. It was very well kept, and is in a very nice location. Downtown and the beach are an easy walk away, and there are a couple of restaurants and shops in the gated community where our teenagers could walk to without worry. The only issue we had, and the reason I am not giving a higher rating, is that on the day before we were supposed to leave, we ran out of water in the house. It was in the afternoon, so we contacted the property manager. First, they told us to try to run water in different areas of the house. When that didnt work, they said to play with the water pump. We tried, but there was no instruction on how to do it correctly. Then they said there was an issue with the water in town, but it should be back on in a few hours. It did not come back on by night time, so they said the cistern is probably out of water and they can't fill it, but they did say that we could use the bathroom and shower in another house a few blocks away. Meanwhile, we had used all of the toilets because we thought the water was coming back on. I ended up filling all of the toilets with water from the pool (repeatedly). None of us got to shower before leaving the next day. We asked for compensation, but they said all they would do would be to give us a free night the next time we are there. We don't have any plans to go back to Playa del Carmen, so it wasn't much consolidation.

The house meet all of needs. Everyone had their own bathroom and the rooms are spacious. The pool is nice and the back porch is large. We rented a car. So the only negative thing I can say is we needed to purchase a bracelet to get in and out of the community easily. It would have been nice to have this explained to us before the trip so we could have been good to go. We didn’t get the bracelets until the 3rd day. Before that we had to hand over our license for the attendant to keep each time we left the community. With the bracelets you just get waved in or out. It’s worth it when the line of taxis is 10 cars long.

This is a lovely spacious house in a beautiful quiet neighbourhood. We were 4 adults and 3 tweens and this was the perfect spot for us, and fit all of our needs and wants. Many hours were spent in the private lush back yard with the kids splashing around in the clean pool, which is a bigger than the pictures make it look. The beds were all very comfortable and the bedrooms were very spacious. Loved having the BBQ in the back yard! We would definitely stay here again. A few gems we found during our visit: a local restaurant Casa Sofia located a few minutes walk away, a super fun day at Cenote Verde Lucero (kids spent hours on the zip line and jumping off cliffs into a gorgeous clear Cenote.) We also had a fabulous day trip with DiveX that took us out to Maroma reef snorkeling and a private secluded beach complete with wave-runners! Thanks to Fede for a fun adventure!

Beautiful inside and out!

There were 6 people in my group of friends that rented Casa Phillys over the 2018 Thanksgiving week and let me tell you the pictures online don’t do it justice. Beautiful property inside and out is how to best describe it. Plenty of room for all 6 of us. It seems as though it may sleep up to 10 with 1 bedroom having 2 double beds plus an extra hallway room with a full size bed that’s not technically an official bedroom but it has a comfy bed. That small extra space was very nice and comfy as well! A total plus about this home is each room has their own full bath. Super convenient! The living room and sitting area are both lovely. The kitchen is on the smaller side but that’s not a bad thing. Washer/dryer, dining area, AC (nice and cold), private rooftop, spacious backyard, super clean pool, and patio were all great! I love how every door and window is extra secure and we always felt super safe in Casa Phillys. We rented a car (I recommend you do this if you plan on exploring PDC and the Yucatán). Having our own wheels made the stay at the house that much more convenient. The house is located in beautiful Playacar which is centrally located in PDC. Besides the house being awesome in it self the 2nd best thing about this property is the location. A short walk to downtown and minutes from the Cozumel ferry. This is my 2nd time renting in Playacar and would love to stay here again. Each time I had questions the property manager replied within minutes and was always helpful. The owner as well; very kind and accomidating. The master and living room are the only rooms that have a TV. I thought that was gonna be a problem for my guests - my mistake. We only had time to watch TV in the late evenings and would usually watch TV together after a long day out and about. Also, I received my deposit back on my credit card within 1 week which I appreciated. I can’t say enough great things about this place. We loved it and can’t wait to return in the future. Do what I did when booking - base your selection off all the positive reviews and try not to focus on the petty negative ones (some people are way to critical and picky). I’m very selective when renting and these positive reviews always help me make my decision.

Practical, cozy paradise...

Wonderful, whymsical space near fifth avenue-but not too close, giving you the conveniences without the loud, after hours mayhem that is quite noisy in the condos and hotels around fifth. This house is a lovely, pretty little gem-with all the conveniences and privacy that make your stay special. My daughters thought they were in a castle, and loved the pool-and the birds singing every morning. The bedrooms are ample, and there was plenty of room for our family of five to spread out-even have alone time if needed. We loved the rooftop seating, but it could be more fun with a bit more furniture. Everything else we felt lie it was a dream. I only wish the photos of this property were more flattering-its waaaaay prettier in person.

Casa Phyllis was a great place for our vacation. It is walking distance to the town of Playa del Carmen inside of a gated neighborhood. Inside of the neighborhood are also a few great restaurants and small stores for convenience. The house was a good base for our excursions away from Playa del Carmen - a few hours from Chitzen Itza and about a half hour from Tulum. The pool/bbq area is nice, and we enjoyed using the rooftop patio in the evenings. The kitchen is a little small and doesn't have a dishwasher, but was functional enough for our purposes. Overall, the accommodations exceeded our expectations.

Enjoyable Stay

Three of us rented this home for a golf trip for a week. It was perfect for our needs. It is a spacious home with three bedrooms with baths and a separate small sleeping area perfect for kids if needed. It has multiple comfortable sitting areas with comfortable furniture. The internet works well, with a couple repeaters in the bedroom areas to spread the signal. It was beautifully cleaned when we arrived. The kitchen is functional but a bit small, with no dishwasher. The cabinets are showing their age, as this is an older home, but they all work. Lighting is functional although mostly fluorescent, pretty typical for Mexico. The dining room has a spacious table for 8. Outdoors is a small, pleasant pool. The area is pretty closely packed with homes, so if privacy is a concern, this is not the place. Landscaping is well maintained, with a peek at the golf course through the trees. Unfortunately, the outdoor furniture is white plastic of the thin variety, the type that bends a bit when you lean back. Never felt quite safe in it. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy the main part of downtown Playa del Carmen. No need to drive as it is an easy walk to town and restaurants. Supermarkets are a short drive away. The home is in a gated community called Playacar. It seems relatively secure, with a number of large hotels, a golf course, and many homes. A book in the house trumpets discounted golf, but at the golf course we found that only applies if you rent for 6 months or more. That same book also highlights that you can use the Reef hotel facilities as a renter, but when we went there we found that they limited that amenity to 20 people a day, with a line forming at 8:30 each day. Not something we used. Getting to the beach is a bit problematic. The beaches are public, but getting to them is difficult. There is very little parking in Playcar, so you walk. Once on the beach, virtually everything on the beach is all-inclusive, so it's difficult to buy any food or drink on the beach. So when you go, take all you need with you. Certainly, the house has all the beach chairs and towels you need. In general, we loved the place. Their are some broken lampshades that need replacing. A number of lamps were unplugged and didn't seem to work. The water pressure in the shower in the back room was pretty poor. A water cooler with bottled water was a pleasant surprise. We would certainly rent this home again, although a number of details could be cleaned up.

We chose this location because of the huge amount of things to to do. We love going down to Tulum for dinner or riding horseback at sunset on the beach. The people of the area want you to be there. The climate is always tropical. Our administrators are perfectionists who love the house as much as we do.
