Just the best

The property owner was always easy to find, beyond helpful, and really flexible. The property is in a fantastic location - easy access to the beach, the city, and also in a secure place. Carmen was full of contacts to improve our trip and tips on what to do and where to go. There was beer in the fridge on arrival. We had a fantastic time, and would absolutely book this again.

A Relaxing and Fun Stay!

We, my two children and our aunt, had a wonderful stay at El Pedregal. The property has everything. Bikes, tennis, easy access to the beach. Checking in was flawless, and Carmen, the property manager, was always accessible through WhatsApp. Carmen arranged massages and gave us great tips for our trips. Carmen, who provides daily housekeeping, was a dream, too. She provided us two meals in addition to the welcome breakfast. The house is in a secure, gated community. Great ready to have some relaxing fun, if you choose El Pedregal when you visit Playa del Carmen.

A fabulous Stay

We had four adult couples, it accommodated us very well. It was clean and well equipped, wonderfully located. We were greeted by Rasa checking in was easy Carmen the chef we had for three nights. She was fantastic dinner the night of your first day is a must the complementary breakfast was also. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

Home away from Home

Absolutely outstanding! Maid service everyday with the option to have a cook. You never have to leave this house- pool, bar, beach. There is a golf course right there and the town center is a 15 minute walk away. Everything was taken care of and the owner recommended a great tour service that took us to ruins, fresh pools and swimming with turtles! I never wanted to leave!

Peaceful and beautiful!

The Morales sisters and niece, enjoyed our week, it was restful, relaxing and fun. Leo and Carmen at the house, were so kind, considerate and helpful. Gilles met us at the airport and took us to Tulum, very informative and friendly. Viktor checked on us during our stay, every need we had was covered plus. Our favorite restaurants were Casa Sophia's and Los Rancheros by the ferry. I would recommend this home to everyone.

Amazing Getaway!

We spent our Spring Break at Viktor's amazing house in Playa Del Carmen. Everything about our trip was perfect. From the car service picking us up, to the staff that greeted us at the door and took such good care of us during our stay. The 1st evening we had a true authentic mexican meal prepared by Viktor's trusted cooks. We loved having the pool right out the back door. We spent the mornings on the beach and the afternoons at the pool or on the back deck. Was so nice to be away from all the hustle and bustle of Spring Breakers! We will go back.. and next time plan to stay longer!

Excellent stay in Playa del Carmen

My wife and I accompanied by our 2 adult children stayed at El Pedegral while we attended a family wedding. The site was perfect for our needs. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom and there was plenty of great outdoor space for both gathering and/or getting a secluded spot. All staff associated with this property are 5 star. There is a shared pool right out in the back and a short walk brings you to a great beach with fun waves. This is an ideal spot for a family or friend gathering. I highly recommend it. Jim B

Unique house

Our family of 7 had a wonderful time at the house. We spent most of our time on the deck, feels like you are in the jungle! Enjoyed the pool area and tennis courts, right behind the house. Easy walk to the beach. The beds were comfortable, water downstairs not always hot, but loved having 4 baths. Carmen, the manager, was fantastic. Got us a tire pump for the bikes, a propane tank when needed, etc. We loved biking into town, but the walk is easy too.

magnificent mayan villa

My stay there was absolutely perfect. Fabulous interior decorating including even the smallest touch. The massive hand cut stone walls lent themselves wonderfully to the Mayan artifacts and paintings. The spiral stairway built around a zapote tree trunk is a work of art in itself. The villa was kept exceptionally clean by the full time maid. She even put out fresh cut fruit bowls in the morning. It was a short walk to the pool and to downtown Playa Del Carmen. I would recommend this property for a romantic couples getaway and as a base for some adventure travel Bernard S Michigan

Christmas 2015

El Pedregal was as beautiful as the pictures described. After we were greeted by Leo and Irma they promptly toured us both the house as well as pool area and the short path to the beach. The fruit basket and cold beer waiting were perfect. The meals Irma cooked for us three times, as well as a pre-arranged Christmas turkey dinner were all spectacular. A short cab ride to 5th avenue was easy to find just waiting at the curb. Viktor is an excellent host, he is prompt to respond to any inquiry and goes out of his way to ensure your stay is marvelous. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this rental. Bill & Randa

Perfect Stay in Beautiful Playa Del Carmen!

I have been to PDC several times for much needed escapes from Chicago's cold winters and El Pedregal was, by far, the best stay I have had! Viktor was extremely helpful in the weeks leading up to our New Years stay (providing suggestions for transportation, fun activities, great restaurants, etc.) The house was conducive to hanging out, big "family" dinners, playing games, cocktailing, etc. It was also large enough to be able to get away a read a book / get some downtime (several patios and a pool within a stones-throw.) Irma was also great everyday in making sure the house was kept clean and that we had everything we need (made us fresh guacamole, sliced fruit, coffee, etc.) El Pedregal was also 2 short blocks away from the beach in a gated community that made you always feel safe and able to enjoy the great scenery. We also walked downtown (about 15 mins) multiple nights to grab drinks and dinner which was a great option you don't find at many places. We look forward to doing it again!

Perfect house for family vacation

Having the pool and beach so close was great. Loved having the bikes, our whole crew(6) rode to gate, locked up to a tree then walked to 5th avenue. We rode bikes to small market to get small items. We didn’t go but, Starbucks is 5-10 min ride from house. On right hand side, go out gate to left. All of this besides 5th ave is in a gated community, very nice and safe. My favorite thing about house is back patio, large table to play games and eat meals. Master bedroom is so large and amazing, huge jacuzzi tub and separate showering area. The AC was probably best I’ve ever felt. Especially having it off and back on after being gone all day on excursions. If want to contact me, feel free. Also Rasa(house manager), Carmen (maid/food preparation) and Efren (airport shuttle/excursion business) we’re all great.

Great house in Playacar gated community

Stayed at El Pedregal for a week with my wife and 2 friends of ours. Communication with the owner (Viktor) was great. He replied quickly to every question I had. As the vacation date got closer he passed me off to the house manager (Carmen) who was also great and very easy to deal with through WhatsApp. House is spacious and clean. Master bedroom is gigantic. Outdoor ‘shower room’ off the master bedroom is a great feature. Back deck is shaded most of the day and half of it is under a palapa as well. AC works well is all rooms of the house. Houses and resorts are very close to each other in Playacar, so be prepared for that….but everyone we met (neighbors and such) were very nice. No need to rent a car as you can walk to pretty much everything you need on a daily basis, and if you want to go on any excursions, Viktor or Carmen can set you up with a driver. Would definitely recommend!

Great time in Playacar!

There were 5 adults in our party. The home was exactly as listed and Carmen was great as our hostess. The location is about a mile plus to the main area for restaurants and shopping. There is a small mall inside Playacar, but only a few places there. Prepare in advance with snacks and drinks in case of a rainy day. The pool is very nice, although it got pretty dirty on our last day, they did come and clean it. There is mostly shade around it, so if you are looking to lay out you have to go to the beach. The fourth bedroom is really only usable for a family as you either have to walk up avery steep round outdoor staircase or go through the primary bedroom to get to it. There is a rooftop area, but not fitted out with furniture (also at the top of the outdoor round staircase). The floor level outdo space is very comfortable and nice on the rainy day we had. Overall great experience and exactly as advertised.

Hidden oasis!

If you are looking for a place that is near all the attractions but still has that hidden oasis feel, this is the place! The beach is a short 5 minute walk, where you can do anything from parasailing, snorkeling, riding jet skis, fishing to lounging on the beach (just walk out there and someone will help you set it up). The backyard is secluded and makes the pool very enjoyable. Carmen (the property manager) is an absolute gem! Our daughter celebrated her birthday while we were visiting and she brought her beautiful flowers and treats to celebrate, such a sweetheart! Recommendations: Bug spray - if you have it on you don't get bothered. Renting a car - if you don't mind driving in Mexico it is helpful to get around (and the AC is a blessing!) Hiring a cook to come to the house - (Mary Carmen was awesome!) Cirque de soleil Joya - if you have a chance to go, it is a MUST! Do the VIP package - the meal is phenomenal! Cook in Playa - go visit the local market & learn how to make authentic food with Alma and and her sweet aunt!

Winter vacation at El Pedregal

My family and I had a wonderful stay at El Pedregal. Viktor, the owner, and all of his staff were so helpful and accommodating. The villa is beautiful, with stained glass throughout and Mexican art and furniture adding to the feel of a authentic Mexican getaway. The master bedroom is a work of art, and has a balcony overlooking the main circle street of Playacar. The villa shares a pool with neighboring properties, but we often had it to ourselves. There is also a blocked off shallow area for young kids. The hotel area begins just south of the villa, so there was never a problem getting a cab. That said, it was only a 15 minute walk into town via sidewalk or beach. The beach was a 4-5 minute walk, or the villa has cards to access the Reef Hotel, just a 2 minute walk, where you can use their facilities, including the pools and beach chairs. Overall this was a wonderfully relaxing vacation, with a nice mix of quiet at the villa and food and entertainment in Playa del Carmen. I can not stress enough how wonderful Viktor and his staff were in making sure that our stay was the best possible. I definitely recommend staying at this property

Beautiful property!!

We had the best time staying at El Pedregal! Viktor was so helpful - right from the start I had to adjust the number of guests and he responded right away and was able to accommodate us. We had 8 adults and the house was perfect! Everyone had their own space and all the rooms were beautiful. Viktor helped arrange transportation from the airport to the house - no need to rent a car. The location was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere! Including the beach that was a very short walk from the house. Carmen met us at our arrival and showed us around. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures showed. The backyard is so peaceful and private. Carmen had guacamole and a few beers for us when we arrived - so thoughtful. She even gave us her Sam’s Club card so we could go get groceries. She arranged for Carmen dos - both were named Carmen - to come in to cook a few meals for us. She even cooked up the fish we caught during our fishing trip. Definitely use her for a few meals. Everything was delicious! And they even cooked breakfast for us the day after our arrival as a welcome gift. I can’t say enough good things about this property and everyone we worked with. Thank you Viktor, Carmen and Carmen for the most amazing vacation!

Pure Paradise

Our family just spent the best vacation we have ever taken at El Pedregal! From the moment we made our reservation Viktor was extremely attentive and responsive to our questions and needs. And that attention was carried over when we arrived in Cancun and were met at the airport by Gilles who greeted us with snacks and cold drinks for the drive to El Pedregal! We were greeted at the house by Leo and Rasa who couldn't have been more welcoming. The house and everyone who was involved in our stay far exceeded our expectations and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. El Pedregal is a short 5 minute walk to an amazing beach and a 15 minute walk to the best part of town for shopping and restaurants. The pool is literally steps away from the back patio in a lush jungle setting. The Yucatán Peninsula is full of things to do and we went on an excursion with Gilles to see Mayan ruins and zip line across and then swim in some of the local cenotes followed by a traditional Mayan lunch! We would highly recommend him for his knowledge of the area and for his private tours where you get one on one attention rather than being lost in the masses. Carmen made a wonderful breakfast for our family of six and did such a great job looking after the house. We can't say enough about our experience with Viktor and all of the El Pedregal family to make this truly a vacation of a lifetime! Thank you Viktor, Leo, Rasa, Gilles, and Carmen!

Wonderful House! Great place to stay!

My family and their significant others spent Christmas 2023 at the the Villa and the house is spectacular. We found the Villa to be fully stocked for us to have a great experience. There was plenty of room for our party of eight with plenty of privacy available. The house was abundantly supplied with towels, beach chairs and pool toys. There is a new deck out back which was a great place to take our meals or relax. As noted in another review, the 4th bedroom is attached to the master bedroom but had a private entry, not a big deal for us. The house in a gated community and concerns for our safety never entered our thoughts. We had one small problem with the toilet (plastic latch inside)-resolved same day. There is an option to hire a masseuse and/or a cook. Masseuse was great, the cook was good. Would hire both again. The beach is only a short 5 minute walk from the property. Know that English is not great for the property manager and non existent for the housekeeper. We were glad we had a guest with some Spanish. We had wished that there was a more complete showing of the house when we arrived. Town is a good 10-15 minute walk away and cabs are $15 to go most places. Be careful in Playa as there are plenty of people who will say anything to take your money. The house is terrific, communication with Viktor was exceptional. Great for beach days! Great for hanging out. Our expectations with the house were more than met.

Overall great weekend with a couple hiccups

We booked this location to celebrate my 40th birthday and we definitely fell in love with the location. It is a beautiful home with a pool right outside the back door and a beach just a 5 minute walk away. Downtown is certainly walking distance if you don't mind sweating but it was an easy and beautiful walk. The ability to schedule in home massages and a personal chef was a cherry on top of a fantastic birthday weekend. However, we were disappointed with a couple situations throughout the long weekend. It is not in the description regarding the 4th bedroom. The 4th bedroom - or the "secret room" is connected to the master suite and you need to walk through the suite in order to get to the 4th room. This did not provide a feeling of privacy at all as a married couple. We were disappointed it wasn't indicated in the house description. We also had a very difficult time getting a hold of the property manager. We texted and called a couple times with questions and no zero response. We also did not have any housekeeping services. We didn't care about the beds at all but we were concerned about the garbage. With 7 adults and when you're not allowed to flush toilet paper, the garbage bags filled up. We asked where to empty them or if someone was going to change the bags with no response. Other than those situations, overall the weekend was amazing and the house was just stunning.

AMAZING one week stay for our 8-person family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! PERFECT!! Unique!!!

This older house is unique and amazing. All of the windows are stained glass, and the master bedroom is especially magnificent! The shower alone--which is the size of a small room--is private, but makes you feel like you're outdoors. Our family has two married children and each couple had their own room. Our two youngest children shared a room. There was plenty of space for all eight of us. The house is in a charming and unique neighborhood and is walking distance to the beach. We were there in December and the water was quite choppy, but we LOVED playing in the waves. We had one rainy day and we spent it playing games under the thatched roof on the back porch. We were happy and dry. A slightly longer walk brought us to the town where there is shopping and several restaurants. The service was excellent. Viktor helped us set up our trip and gave us wonderful advice. VERY helpful. (He suggested, for example, that we not rent a car. Good decision!) He also set up our transportation to and from the airport and to and from some excursions. Rasa met us at the house and gave us a great tour of the place, etc. The night we arrived they had a dinner waiting for us on the beautiful back patio. AND, they gave us a complimentary breakfast the next morning. Both of those meals were so nice as we hadn't had time to shop yet. We felt very well taken care of. This place really had everything we needed/wanted. Beautiful outdoor decks and spaces, indoor air conditioning and fans, fun artwork and books, a small kitchen with all of the appliances and place settings needed, a clean community pool, etc. etc. etc. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this house.

Well appointed and spacious home oozing with traditional Mayan decor

I searched for many weeks for a property that would suit our 3 generation family group. Pedregal 'ticked all the boxes' and it offered far more than I had anticipated. Location - 15 to 20 mins walk from PDC [just about ok for us] and 3 mins to the beautiful beach. We found that being organised and doing a big shop by taxi every few days, worked best for us. We rented a couple of bikes which meant that one of us could pick up any emergency rations in between time. The House is AMAZING, exceeded our expectations. Extremely well appointed, plenty of space both inside and out. The biggest problem for me was how to allocate bedrooms, esp when one of them is the size of a small ballroom - easy, I took Viktor's advice, hubby and I took the incredible master suite to save any arguments ! Although the entire family could have fitted into the enormous spa bath, we decided the outdoor shower was much more enjoyable and more environmentally friendly. However all the rooms are beautifully decorated and have their own shower room. The deck was a great place for family outdoor living but a complete surprise to us was the great bar area downstairs - I will say no more otherwise there will be no surprises. We were pleased that the pool was a few steps away from the house, less likely for our toddling grand daughter to fall in. We hoped that our young grandsons would find playmates at the pool, a reason for choosing a shared pool rather than private, this also means the pool is bigger. Very successful as they returned home having met some great new pals. Leo does a great job managing the house and our thanks to her for being so understanding, esp on the day we arrived, she was my santo ! Amy is amazing, we have never been so well looked after, she is a happy, sunny girl, eager to please and also cooked a beautiful family dinner for us. Do chat to Gilles re any excursions, he is great fun and really works at giving you the best possible experience. We went on his Mayan village tour and another day his trusty driver Oscar, drove us to Akumel where we were lucky enough to see turtles. The highlight of the trip was the Lazy snorkeling tour when the family fished for the first time, swam with Rays and turtles and were served a delicious lunch on a deserted beach - paradise found ! Above all, there is the very special Viktor, behind the scenes but very much the maker of all things at Casa Pedregal. No query went unanswered, no request is too much trouble. A 5 Star Guy!

We will provide you with a local cell phones. We have it loaded with 100 pesos. Phone-to-phone is free.
You do not want to make long distance phone calls with these phones. You should use it to stay in touch while at Playa. If you need additional minutes on the phone, you can purchase at any Oxxo store and they will be happy to load it for you. There will be a $50 charge if the phone is missing or lost.
Our guests have found that having what’s app is the very best way to communicate with our manager Leo. You do not need phone service on your phone. It works over the WiFi in the house. You may want to add Carmen's phone number - you need to dial 52 1 984 182 7415 to your what’s app contacts. Smoking
Smoking is allowed only on the back terrace and the outside terrace adjacent to the master bedroom. Please do not smoke in the house.
House Key
There is a lock for the house key (outside the front door): password will be provided.
Internet
Password for the internet will be provided at house. Electricity and the Environmental Impact in Mexico Please make sure to turn off all lights, fans and air conditioning when not in the house and make sure that all the doors are locked when leaving the house or prior to going to bed.
We would like to bring to your attention that Mexico receives all of its electricity from Canada and the USA. Mexico does not produce its own. So, we would appreciate it if you please help us by turning off the lights when you leave the house and shutting off the air conditioning units, which are brand new and very efficient. You do not need to keep these appliances running while away from the house. Once you are back in the house, the unit will cool down each room in 10 minutes. In the master bedroom you have two units. Running both of them to cool the room down works best, but you only need one if you want to sleep with the air conditioning on.
