Sassafras Surf has everything you need! Tucked away in a small, quiet, residential neighborhood, you'll instantly feel right at home. The short walk to Moody Beach will instantly put you in vacation mode. Note, Moody Beach is private, but Footprint Beach is just 0.2 mile further. Relax in the backyard to the sounds and smell of the ocean. The house offers lots of great space to settle in and unwind. Dine in or dine out, the world is your oyster! Its less than 0.7 mile to Footprint Beach (Public)! A 6 minute drive to downtown Ogunquit and the nearby beaches! And 20 minutes to Kennebunkport. The location offers a multitude of dining options, hiking trails, and beaches! I am thrilled to share my little piece of southern Maine with you!

The house felt open and summery. The most comfortable stay with every essential of a summer cottage. Location is a quiet neighborhood with a short walk to the beach. We really appreciated the easy communication with our host and hope to be lucky enough to rent again next year.

The host was very kind and responsive!Keep in mind that even during the summer, most restaurants will close at 8pm. Grocery stores at 10, gas stations at 11.If you’re sensitive to mosquitos, stay away from the shed and back yard. The master bed gets a 7/10 for comfort, though we do prefer much stiffer mattresses.

Sassafras Surf House

My family stayed and enjoyed the proximity to the beach and all the shops and restaurants around wells and ogunquit. We’ve stayed here two years in a row and will be back again next year!

We had a great stay, the location is perfect, short walk to Moddy beach ( private beach with small public section ), and very short drive to Footbridge beach, we even walked to Footbridge beach from the house ( about 20-25 minutes ). The house is bigger than il looks, with a large living area. Comfortable beds, well furnished.

We stayed at Kate’s place in celebration of my husband’s birthday & had a wonderful time. The house is clean & bigger than expected, the neighbors are friendly & the walk to the beach is both easy & lovely. Kate is a great host and has taken time to ensure beach supplies are available & the stay is as easy as possible.

Wells Getaway

We enjoyed our stay and can’t beat the location with a short walk to the beach. The house had all the accommodations we needed as a family with young children and we had easy communication with the owner. Would love to come back and stay again next year.

Feels like home!

Our family of 5 had the best time here. Beautiful house, amazing host, and great location. We were able to check off many of our must-see spots and then come back to our home base of Sassafras. We made memories that will last a lifetime and we couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity to do so in this house!

Worked for us

We stayed here for a long weekend and the house worked perfectly for us. A short walk to the beach and a short drive to Ogunquit and Kennebunk/Kennebunkport. It’s nothing glamorous but a perfectly functional place to stay that served our purposes well.
