About Nicholas Bain

Our family has enjoyed our lake house for the past 12 years. As our family has grown, now with grandchildren) we continue to use our lake house for family vacations and reunions. We love boating, fishing and water sports. We live near Atlanta and find the 2 hour drive makes for an easy weekend get-a-way.

Nicholas Bain purchased this house in 1999

Why Nicholas Bain chose Salem

We did not buy this as a vacation rental, but as a second home, a get-a-way and vacation home for our family and friends. We had known Lake Keowee as a beautiful lake. It has sparkling clean water with peaceful surroundings of the nearby mountains. We are now making it available for a limited number of weeks as a rental vacation home.

What makes this house unique

Our lake house is unique situated at the mouth of a peaceful deep water cove with great access to the main body of Lake Keowee. We are surrounded by several Cliffs Communities with its upscale homes and amenities. Our home can offer either a quiet restful get-a-way, or an active lakefront vacation.

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to this house and it was a great weekend with our family. The owner was very gracious in helping us reschedule our visit because of historic flooding on the SC coast last October. Everything was clean, beds made, plenty of linens, and the game room was great for the kids. We forward to the next time we can spend time with our family at your lake house.

Multi generation Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased that we found this listing , which seemed to fit our large family. Besides myself and my husband, we brought 4 grown children, spouses, and 10 grandchildren , ages from 2-18 to this fabulous place. The house was very roomy and fully equipped for eating, cooking , and playing. It felt like home right away. The bunk room was amazing where all 10 cousins chose their little territory as their bunk. The lake was absolutely gorgeous! Boat rentals are available which you should consider. The owner was available for any last minute questions. I would highly recommend this vacation home.

Love this House

  • 5 of 5

My extended family loves this house. This was our second time renting the house and plan to do so again next summer. This large home is just perfect for our extended family, as we live in FL, VA, WV, and GA, so this location is a central drive for all. The house easily fits our 8 adults and 9 children for both sleeping and eating. The children love the bunk beds and game room as the feel they are all at camp. The entire house is very well set up and you feel like you are at your own house. We especially love the dock area as we usually rent a boat for tubing and just cruising around the lake. The house is located on the quiet part of the lake. The golf cart and path to the dock make this house more available for elderly or disabled as there are many steps to reach the dock. We love this house.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this beautiful lake house during Clemson's graduation and our weekend was much more enjoyable with the amenities of this house. The bedrooms were spacious, the kitchen provided enough room to prepare our meals for our large family, and the views of the lake were unbelievable. We thoroughly enjoyed the screened in deck and the outdoor BBQ grill. The beds were comfortable, the showers were very clean, and the property was in great shape. I highly recommend this house if you're vacationing at the lake or if you're attending an event at Clemson.

Excellent get away for a large family

  • 5 of 5

We were introduced to with friend at work, and with my large family we found this property that is big enough to swallow my entire 16++ family members.. We gave it shot and it turned out fabulous.. As soon we got to the front door everybody was like wow!!!! The house was very clean, and very well stocked, the bedrooms were neat and there was enough supply of linen and towels.. The jacuzzi on the main floor was the bom.. Kids had blast in the jacuzzi.. On the basement we never got tired of games.. Wish we had like week because the 4days we were there, we never felt like leaving.. The kitchen is very big and open making it easy to prepare meals, there were enough pans and pots and enough utensils for big family.

Costwise this property was budget friendly Plus we had last minute discount "can't get it any better than we did". The owner is very efficient with his paperwork and as long as you take care of his property he gets your depost back in less than 2weeks.. And he is just a phone call away incase you need anything while at the property.. The driveway was big enough to carry all our six cars, though your packing brakes must be good because the driveway is a little bit sloppy😊

My parents used to wake up early and sit on the screened deck and enjoy looking at the lake..

We loves this property and it beck in the woods in gated community, very nice and quiet.. We are planning to go back again when time allows..
