Immediately upon arrival we noticed the stairs were in disrepair and hauling luggage/groceries was a struggle. I called to report and they were very nice but didn't come to repair them until Thursday! We had very small children and an infant so this was a danger. The repair/carpenter was awesome, super nice and did a superb job, but just late! The carpenter said the deck really needed replacing as well. We sat on it every day! There was a cabinet held closed by a spoon in the handle - in the kitchen! Lots of places needed painting, repairing inside. Just old and dated. The hose outside was cracked and bent, hard to use like that. The neighborhood was great, the proximity to the pool and beach were terrific!

There are lots of stairs and the ones going up to the bedroom were very slick for my dog. He was terrified of them. My main complaint was the beds. Oh they were awful. Hard as a rock. You will need a mattress pad to stay here because my whole body hurt. Beach was literally a 5 minute walk away. It's about a 20min drive into town and 40 minutes from orange Beach. The other house we were supposed to stay in was 8 miles closer. It was well lit for walking your dog at night. The property management did great at promptly relocating us and sending maintenance out to the house. I'd stay with them again.

Light bulbs needed replaced and almost every plate bowl and coffee cup was chipped. The bedding was ripped as well. For 3000 dollars I had high expectations.

Special vacation condo in Gulf Shores

Beautiful view of the sunrise overlooking the gulf from the bedroom deck. The main deck has a latch gate to keep the children or dogs within our view. The kitchen was equipped with the basics to easily cook our favorite meals. Bathroom near each bedroom. The beds were very comfortable. Condo was clean and freshly painted. Security code to enter helps make it a safe environment.

Short walk to the beach and the pool two houses down. We will definitely book this place again. The only complaint we had was the supplies in the kitchen if you plan on cooking or baking anything the pots and baking supplies are limited. And no keurig or blender .

8 people.....why would you need more than 8 forks!?

Upon arrival the place looked ok. But upon closer inspection the disappointment began to set in. 1. the gas grill was a glorified rust bucket that wasn't even assembled for use (let alone a propane tank) 2. the charcoal grill was a joke as the grate didn't fit properly and there were no grilling tools 3. the cold air return for the furnace/ac looked like it was about to grow legs and walk away (thankfully they came and took care of this within a few hours of our arrival) 4. appeared to have mold on the floor and behind the toilet of one of the bathrooms (black stuff is never a good thing to see). there was also a gross yellow line across the shower curtain where it probably had gotten wet from previous renters 5. the plates looked like they were a end of the day yard-sale special. there were a few that I could actually feel move along the crack line. 6. if you like to cook look for another place, the line up of utensils, measuring cups, cook ware was subpar at best 7. no dustpan and the only broom we could locate didn't function well at all (I requested one but 2 days later it never showed up) 8. 2 pieces of tuperware for leftovers 9. i swear sand was coming up through my sheets! iv never had this kind of an issue before and I have stayed as several beach houses If you dont plan on eating at this location and are simply using it as a place to sleep then it probably would work just fine

There was no stress whatsoever in the process. Internet was having a moment of trouble when we arrived but the management was prompt in getting it online. Great stay!!!!

House in need of so many improvements!

Our house had around 15 problems. We emailed and called 4 times during stay. We had a maintenance man come and never got anything fixed. We were without forks, washing machine and dishwasher entire stay. I would never recommend this house to anyone. We are very unhappy with our stay.

An escape!

There was plenty of room for my family, 3 boys and a dog. The neighborhood is cute and laid back, we enjoyed walks every day, and just a 30 minute drive to the "hub bub" of Gulf Shores. We visited Fort Morgan, ate at Tacky Jacks across the road and drove to Gulf Shores to Adventure Island and to get ice cream. Some things that need addressing: paint on the master bath ceiling is peeling, spots of mold on the master bath shower curtain and in a corner of the master bath, we couldn't get the TV in the bedroom with the bunkbeds to work, the closet in the back of the carport needs cleaning (pool/beach equipment is stored there) and deck chairs on the upper deck were broken.

To assist the owner, they need to know that the stairs are in need of replacing because "many" of the treads are soft. The unit is showing some wear but overall it was fine. The outdoor furniture could use an upgrade to something more comfortable because we spent a good bit of time on the deck. The kitchen utensils need to be replenished. Interior bathroom doors do not lock. Carpet was a bit stained.Suggestion - Due to covid-19, I would recommend a bottle of sanitizer/cleaner be left in the unit.

Aug Beach Trip

Sunset Properties moved me to a house that was not on the beach without letting me know. Once I found out I asked them to find me a pet friendly house on the beach. I had to change the dates of my stay to get the Dunesberry house. Then the HOA at the Dunes had a rule about dog breeds that caused me to have to leave behind a dog and one of the people in my party. Sunset Properties did the best they could to save my vacation. Dunesberry ended up being fine for our stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Dunesberry was our first vacation to the Gulf Shores/Ft.Morgan area. Upon arrival, it was a nice little gated community. The street appeal was nice but the landscaping was non-existent. We parked and went into the unit. It was nice and the air conditioning was turned on for us, which was nice. Overall, the unit is a good layout but could use some TLC (paint peeling from ceiling, water stains, black mold around master tub and baseboard, steps to front door are broken and someone in my party fell down them but caught herself, master bathroom floor was sticky, blinds were broken or the wrong size (some had bite marks), etc). The property was very close to the community pool and a short walk to the beach. We discovered an issue and called the management company and they were there quickly to make the repair but I don’t think the repair completely worked because by the time we left the problem looked to be coming back. Some paint, a better cleaning, and some attention to detail on repairs and this place would have received 5 stars.

Perfect Location--Would Go Again

The location was is an older duplex that shows a little wear in places, but it was really clean and everything that mattered was in wonderful condition. I could tell it was well-cared for overall. Would go back again! Enjoy the quiet of Fort Morgan.

The dunesberry

This was a very nice place to stay. Gated area. quick access to the beach. However I must point out that the WiFi information given by VRBO was incorrect. Had to get it off the router. While I could have cared less about the WiFi, it was not reliable and when it had service it was as fast as dial up. All tenants pay a cleaning service fee and at some point the cleaning service failed to get a few ketchup covered paper plates out from under a bed that was in clear site. Some of the sheets had what was likely ketchup on them as well. All the remotes either needed batteries or reprogrammed. While those are little things, those little things eventually add up and annoy you.
