About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

'Busy Doin' Nothin' is located within a single family residential neighborhood- none of the crowded beaches, traffic, noise, etc. associated with some areas on the Gulf coast.

Restaurants and convenience stores located nearby. At last count, 13 golf courses in the area, Bon Secure National Wildlife Refuge, the Mobile Bay Ferry, Fort Morgan Historic Site, Alabama Birding Trail are all close by. For those that desire to 'shop 'til you drop', the Rivera Centre contains in excess of 100 factory outlet stores and is located in nearby Foley (approximately 10 miles north of Gulf Shores).

The world's most beautiful beach is located approximately 100 yards from your front door. The home has a wagon for your use in carrying necessary beach supplies, chairs, etc.- most of which are available at the home for your use. Because the home is located on the Fort Morgan Peninsula, Mobile Bay is directly north of the home, less than a 1/4 mile away, and offers fishing, crabbing, shrimping, etc. The home has crab traps available for your use-you will need to bring your own fishing equipment. A fishing pier is located on the Fort Morgan Historic Site and is available for your use at a nominal charge, and well as the public boat launch.

Alcohol is allowed on our beaches. As are pets. Please Contact me for any questions Regarding my Property 334-233-2002 - TINA

About Tina Scarborough

We are native Alabamians. We live in Tallassee, Alabama.

Joe and I enjoy actively participating in our Church, traveling with our friends, boat rides on Mobile Bay, fishing and shrimping, riding the ferry to Dauphin Island, bike rides in the Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island area, and enjoying the prettiest beach in the world- here in Ft. Morgan!

Tina Scarborough purchased this house in 2000

Why Tina Scarborough chose Alabama

The Fort Morgan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was forty (40) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristine white sandy beach, salt air, and the ever-present Gulf breezes; a community of single-family homes, with great neighbors and friends.

What makes this house unique

Only a short walk (less than 100 yards- length of football field) from the house to the beach. Our street (Bernard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the 'public' areas. The Gulf and Bay views (when leaves are off the trees in the Fall and Winter) can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from Fort Morgan Marina, and approximately a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site with public boat launch and fishing pier (to be remodeled in the coming year), there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay. .

Didn't want to leave!

We had a great time here. Kitchen was fully stocked, a lot of space, closer to the beach than we thought, and pet friendly! Thanks for some great memories! It is far enough out that it is very family friendly, but still close enough to town for shopping.

Awesome house, clean and comfortable. The owners were great and very helpful. Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The house was so clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen had all the cooking tools we could have needed. It was a very short walk to the beach with a great view of the ocean from the front porch. There was a wagon to help us take all our things to the beach which was great! We needed to ask the owners a question and they were so quick to respond. Very nice people. Thank you Joe and Tina for a great week at the beach. We couldn't have asked for more.

Very clean and felt like home. Beautiful beaches. A quiet place to relax.

  • 5 of 5

We were two families together, eight total. There was plenty of room in the home. The house was clean and everything was laid out clear for us to follow. We only had one bump in the road. The owner Tina was quick to take care of it. She was excellent and very nice to talk to. She even checked up to see if we were having a great time. It was nice to have a covered parking. The neighborhood was quite and beautiful to walk through. The beach just a short walk was clean and had plenty of room for everyone to have a great time. Will recommend to family and friends. Thanks again Tina for making our stay a great one.

A wonderful get away

  • 5 of 5

The woman that we rented from was so nice and caring and generous. I could call her any time with anything. The next time we come on vacation we will stay here. The house is clean and beautiful. My family had plenty of room. The beach wasn't far at all to walk to. It was a wonderful time. I will come back.

Great owner and home!

  • 5 of 5

We didn't get to stay the entire week due to a family emergency, but had a great time while we were there. The house was very nice, great for a family getaway, and the proximity to the beach was great. The beach was not overly crowded either. During our short stay we rode the ferry to Dauphin Island, ate at Tacky Jack's (which is just a couple minutes from the house and was awesome), and enjoyed relaxing on the beach.

Tina was great to work with and was genuinely concerned for our family and kept in contact after we left to see how things turned out. I would recommend this property to anyone!

"Busy Doin' Nothin" has direct beach access- the house is located 100 yards from the beach- a short walk down the paved street in front of the house which dead ends onto the beach. Enjoy beautiful views of Gulf of Mexico (and Mobile Bay in the fall and winter when leaves are off the trees) from the front deck. You can charter deep sea and inshore fishing at Gulf Shores Marina which is approximately 1/2 mile from the house; or, use the public boat launch and fishing pier at Ft. Morgan historic site approximately 1.5 miles from house.

For the children- other than beach activities- you will have to travel to Gulf Shores to take advantage of movie theaters, go-kart tracks, putt-putt golf, zoo, etc.
