'Busy Doin' Nothin' is located within a single family residential neighborhood- none of the crowded beaches, traffic, noise, etc. associated with some areas on the Gulf coast.
Restaurants and convenience stores located nearby. At last count, 13 golf courses in the area, Bon Secure National Wildlife Refuge, the Mobile Bay Ferry, Fort Morgan Historic Site, Alabama Birding Trail are all close by. For those that desire to 'shop 'til you drop', the Rivera Centre contains in excess of 100 factory outlet stores and is located in nearby Foley (approximately 10 miles north of Gulf Shores).
The world's most beautiful beach is located approximately 100 yards from your front door. The home has a wagon for your use in carrying necessary beach supplies, chairs, etc.- most of which are available at the home for your use. Because the home is located on the Fort Morgan Peninsula, Mobile Bay is directly north of the home, less than a 1/4 mile away, and offers fishing, crabbing, shrimping, etc. The home has crab traps available for your use-you will need to bring your own fishing equipment. A fishing pier is located on the Fort Morgan Historic Site and is available for your use at a nominal charge, and well as the public boat launch.

About Tina Scarborough
We are native Alabamians. We live in Tallassee, Alabama. Joe and I enjoy actively participating in our Church, traveling with our friends, boat rides on Mobile Bay, fishing and shrimping, riding the ferry to Dauphin Island, bike rides in the Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island area, and enjoying the prettiest beach in the world- here in Ft. Morgan!
Tina Scarborough purchased this House in 2000
Why Tina Scarborough chose Fort Morgan
The Fort Morgan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was forty (40) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristine white sandy beach, salt air, and the ever-present Gulf breezes; a community of single-family homes, with great neighbors and friends.
What makes this House unique
Only a short walk (less than 100 yards- length of football field) from the house to the beach. Our street (Bernard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the 'public' areas. The Gulf and Bay views (when leaves are off the trees in the Fall and Winter) can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from Fort Morgan Marina, and approximately a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site with public boat launch and fishing pier (to be remodeled in the coming year), there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay. .

Perfect Family Home
Loved this beach home. Perfect for a family, spacious and close to the beach. Walk was three minutes top. Sitting on the front porch you can hear and see the ocean. The kitchen was large and great for cooking and meals. Enough sitting for everyone. Great showers (hot water stayed for long time). The community was friendly and quiet. Not far from local restaurants and activitys. I would highly recommend and would book this location again. Also Tina, is nice and quick to help!
Home away from Home!
We absolutely love staying here! This is our second time. It’s so close to the beach and we can bring our fur babies and not have to worry about being away from them. Tina is a wonderful person and works with you and cares and checks on you. We will be back again next year!!!
Lovely home steps from the beach
We stayed at Busy Doin' Nothin from mid December to the end of January. The home more than met our expectations. The owners, Tina and Joe, were fantastic as hosts. Being an exceptionally cold time Tina checked with us several times to ensure everything was fine. The couple of small problems we had were dealt with quickly. The house was very comfortable and the walk to the beach was less than 5 minutes. We were close enough that we could sit on the deck and watch the waves. Upon arrival, the only thing we had to supply was our food. We also were happy that it was not a problem having our English Bulldog with us. Being our first time to the Alabama coast, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or nicer owners. Highly recommend this home.
We had a great time! Beach was so close and we were able to completely relax!
Great last minute stay in and wonderful experience with the owner
My family and I were headed to Florida in the midst of hurricane Irma and as we were headed to Florida we were notified of that the area we were staying and was being evacuated, so we pulled over on the side of the road and decided to re-route our trip to the Gulf Shores area instead. We pulled up this home and contacted the owner to see if we could Book our stay starting that same day. The owner contacted us back within the hour and was very accommodating and it had the housekeeper out there to tidy up and we were able to check in the same day! She was also kind enough to check in with us to make sure that we were able to get to the home and had gotten settled in.
The home it's self was very clean and more spacious than it appears in the photos. It is a very easy walk to the beach and has a nice Oceanview. The only negative note I would add is that if you are a light sleeper the two secondary bedrooms can get a bit noisy during the night when the air conditioner clicks on and off.
Overall, I would highly recommend this home and any others that this owner has.
The house was very clean and stocked with every you would need for vacation. The best part was the house is pet friendly! We had an amazing time and will be back!
"Busy Doin' Nothin" has direct beach access- the house is located 100 yards from the beach- a short walk down the paved street in front of the house which dead ends onto the beach. Enjoy beautiful views of Gulf of Mexico (and Mobile Bay in the fall and winter when leaves are off the trees) from the front deck. You can charter deep sea and inshore fishing at Gulf Shores Marina which is approximately 1/2 mile from the house; or, use the public boat launch and fishing pier at Ft. Morgan historic site approximately 1.5 miles from house.
For the children- other than beach activities- you will have to travel to Gulf Shores to take advantage of movie theaters, go-kart tracks, putt-putt golf, zoo, etc.
