An idyllic cottage walking distance from town, this charming house was built in 1870. The previous owner is a world class gardener and the property reflects her status - a gardener's dream and perfect setting for dining and living al fresco. It is perfect for families with young children and can accomodate an additional family as guests. It has great light and the kicthen is wonderful all day and especially in the in the afternoon and evening. Dinner outside in the garden in the evening is highly recommended.

About Curtis Ravenel
Mallory and I have two young boys and live in Manhattan. We spend nearly every weekend in Sag and will be traveling in August so are hoping to find a young family to enjoy the house as we do.
Curtis Ravenel purchased this House in 2010
Why Curtis Ravenel chose Town of Southampton
It is walking distance to town, a bike ride to the harbor beach and a short drive to the ocean (10 mins).
What makes this House unique
The birds and garden are stunning (although we can take no credit for that). The restaurants are also great and walking distance. Babysitting is available and the yard is fenced so young children can play safely without worry.

Wonderful house, great location
My family spent two weeks at the house and had a great time. The house is on a quiet street, but is a very short walk into town, so it's a perfect Sag Harbor location. The house itself is clean and well-kept, the gardens are beautiful, and the guest house is a perfect space for visitors. The owners were able to provide a lot of info about things to do, restaurant recommendations, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Sag Harbor, and would absolutely return to this property. Highly recommended.
A Charming Place to stay in the best village on Long Island
On a narrow street we approach a house covered in roses - walking up to the front door the air is filled with the fresh scent of boxwoods and we sense we've arrived at a special place and we are not disappointed. After a restful sleep in very comfortable beds, we enjoy coffee on the private patio outside in a gardener's paradise while listening to the many birds swooping amoung the trees. We walk to the nearby village and discover an excellent bakery, cheese shop, butcher on Division St to buy provisions to prepare in our well stocked kitchen but are also glad to find a number of excellent restaurants. This home was clean and comfortable and our hosts provided everything needed for our visit - we would happily return.
Sag Harbor is the best place to stay in the Hamptons. It is a real town with a real local vibe - the most down to earth town out there. It reminded me of Nantucket. The main street has an old hardware store, for example, and there are lots of casual restaurants. Of course, if you want to party it up, Sag can deliver that as well.
This home is super comfortable with lots of different sleeping nooks and a gorgeous garden with all kinds of birds and flowers. The kitchen looks out to the garden so we spent most of the weekend just hanging out at the table and watching the kids frolic outside in the yard. The owners were very kind to recommend great activities and restaurants, and even lent us their babysitter list. We felt right at home. I highly recommend this peaceful spot for your vacation.
The Loveliest Cottage
My husband and I spent an absolutely wonderful weekend here with our 3 year old daughter and another couple and their two small children. We were able to completely relax as the house and yard are serenely safe throughout for the children. A completely-enclosed, grassy backyard with (gorgeously landscaped!) gardens surrounding, and a sweet patio for breakfast or afternoon cocktails. You can sit in the adorable kitchen and see the backyard, too. The cottage itself is so warm and welcoming: plush lounge chairs in Indian cotton, all natural wood floors, beach breeze drifting through open windows. A complete respite from the city; beautifully quiet. Very comfortable beds, and our tiled bathroom was spacious and sunny. It was great to have the washer/dryer handy. Love the location, too; we walked downtown and everywhere we went. Being in this cottage reminded me of what childhood at the beach used to be like! We were utterly charmed, totally refreshed, and the children loved it.
Wonderful home in charming town
We have stayed in this adorable home several times and loved it every time! It is perfectly appointed and cute and cozy - you feel comfortable from the minute you enter the front door. The home is great for families as well, and had plenty of space for our baby and our parents to all stay comfortably. The pictures don't do the garden justice, and we have enjoyed many picnics on the back patio. It is located on a quiet street, yet just a few blocks from the center of town. The town itself is full of great restaurants and clothing and design shops galore. We can't wait to return.
Absolutely lovely historic home in Sag Harbor
What a gorgeous house! From the minute I arrived I could not stop admiring the house, the decor (elegant, beachy, charming), and the garden (wow! I had the good fortune to be there in spring when flowers were in bloom). I can't say enough good things about this place. In fact, I wish it were mine. I spent two weekends there last spring. I stayed in the downstairs guestroom, which like all the rooms in the house is lovely, comfortable and quiet. My bed was so comfortable, and I slept like a rock, which is saying a lot because I was pregnant at the time. Not only is the house sunny, charming and just a pleasure to spend time in, but the location is fantastic. Every morning I walked a quick 5 min. into town for coffee, a paper and breakfast. I can't wait to go back!
