  • Lovely! Needs a Bridal Shower!

"We came in to escape the city with our 2 adult daughters for Labor Day! Serene setting. The home is clean, nice furnishings, granite in kitchen, new bathroom. It is a lake view versus lake front - there is a house in front off to the right and a shed to the left, but you can still see the lake off at an angle. We couldn't get the WIFI to work, so Richard sent someone to fix it Friday evening. We never did get the cable to work, which was only an issue as that was the weekend the hurricane was expected to hit Long Island, and we wanted to see the weather. We planned to grill dinner Friday night , after exploring some vineyards. We checked before we left, and the propane tank was empty and there wasn't a spare in the shed as listed. We filled the tank, had texted Richard, and he had a replacement tank there by the time we returned. He re-imbursed us the $30 we spent. The one kayak that was on the beach was old, dirty and filled with water. They brought us 2 additional ones by morning, but both of those had water in the hull and needed to be drained before use. It was a lovely kayak trip around the quiet lake! The 2 bikes in the shed were old school and covered in leaves and cob webs. They brought us 2 updated bikes, which provided for a great bike ride into town. The kitchen supplies were very basic - hence the reason for needing a "bridal shower" to refresh the supplies. The plates/bowls were all mis matched. No platters or cutting board. Random bath towels. No napkins. Ran out of toilet paper. Richard was very responsive to our needs, but it we wanted to simply relax, and not be texting him for basic things or run out to the store for toilet paper. It was a super fun weekend and a lovely home, but just needed some re-stocking. Be clear ahead of time if you plan to grill, want better kayaks and bikes. Despite our issues, we would rent it again."

  • Fantastic 2 week stay here August 2016 through Labor Day!

"My wife and I have traveled the world and are very experienced staying in luxury resorts (Four Seasons, Peninsula, Montage, etc.) and we loved this property. We brought friends out from Texas and it was very comfortable with 6 adults and our 2 year old God son. Our favorite times were sitting on the outdoor patio looking at the beautiful still water in the mornings (watching ducks, swans and we even saw some wild turkeys) as well as relaxing on the patio at night with tiki torches blowing in the gentle breeze. The beds were all very comfortable, and all our guests commented on how well they slept every night. We all took showers before dinner and had plenty of hot water. The location is also great, easy to get to Watermill, Souhampton and Sag Harbor within 15 minutes driving. Sharon the owner was very responsive and was even nice enough to go buy a few extra kitchen supplies that my "chef-trained" wife requested to cook a few elaborate dinners for 6 adults. But, the house had everything we needed and our guests liked being able to paddle board or kayak right from the dock in the backyard. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night from the back yard and we rented a ski boat for 2 days--because we could drive it right up to our own private dock. This house is also close to several local beaches but you need a car to drive there. It always bothers us if there is nothing negative at all written in online reviews...so the only things we could think of were: it only has 2 showers so someone has to share (but it does have a 3rd half bath) and apparently it has no garbage disposal, which may be due to local regulations. For a rent house, we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back to stay there again!! We highly recommend this property! Also, our favorite restaurants were: Lunch/The Lobster Roll on the right side out past East Hampton, Nick & Toni's, Silvers' BLT is my very favorite lunch--must share it because it's huge!, Topping Rose House (Jean Georges), Tutto il Giorno sitting outside, The Beacon (doesn't take reservations) and we love the gelato at Sant Ambroeus. Crow's Nest in Montauk is worth the drive for an early dinner and visit the cool "dive" pub called Murf's in Sag Harbour."

  • Wonderful retreat!!

"We rented this beautiful house for a peaceful getaway with our family and it was everything that we hoped it would be and more. The house has everything you could ever want. The pool is beautiful and secluded. The owners were great and so accommodating. The house was clean and comfortable and has a great view from the top deck. Thank you for sharing your amazing home with us. We look forward to return in the future!!"

  • Hidden and Special Gem

"This house has it all: - Conveniently located to ocean and bay, yet nestled in the woods and close to everything. - While we were 4, can easily accommodate more. The house has 3 BR and 2 baths, but while there was space, you still felt connected. - While it's a great home from the 70s (?), the decor is posh and contemporary yet still works. - The dining area overlooks the long yard and the living space has great energy (and the working fireplace doesn't hurt). - Impeccably maintained and everything we needed to know was answered. CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN AGAIN!"
