Beautiful mountainous area! Close by hiking with exceptional views. Host was fantastic with info of surrounding area and responding to any questions. Our grandchildren loved PAC Man and Xbox. House offered plenty of space with comfy beds.
Absolutely gorgeous, private, peaceful and comfortable vacation rental up in the mountains at Wolf Laurel Resort. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer and had some of our friends join us. Everything you need and more. Special access to the Appalachian Trail was a huge bonus. The wildlife was beautiful. Darrel and Marie were very communicative and the best hosts!
This place exceeded our expectations! Very clean, lots of room for multiple guests, and great communication with the host. This was perfect for our guys trip as a quiet getaway. Great views on the drive in, and lots of wildlife visits in the morning hours. As suggested to us, please plan ahead on the way in for supplies needed for the night, as it is a bit of a drive from town to the cabin. Also as suggested, it is a good idea to arrive the first night while there is still light as the drive can be intemidating. Overall great stay, and hope to come visit again.
We had a great stay. Everything was clean and well-organized. Beautiful area. Hosts provided us with plenty of information about the house and surrounding area. Will visit again!
The property was as described and the description ia accurate. The home was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for a family of 4 and our dog. It is a short drive to Asheville, where we spent most of our days. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed playing on the pool table downstairs. We stayed Memorial day weekend and had a restful stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat a few meals. Thank you
Darrell and Marie provided tons of great information about the house and the local area before and during our stay in the Wolf Laurel community. They would message us from time to time during our stay to see if we needed anything. The house is an older home that is very clean and well maintained. It has a welcoming atmosphere with many kitchen amenities, the traditionalfamily card and board games along with a pool table, and a gas grill and gas fire pit on the upstairs back deck that we enjoyed in the mornings while watching the deer below the house. We took advantage of a couple of hikes from our house to one of the trail heads in the community. The fall colors were just beginning during our visit. The home can accommodate several with 4 bedrooms and feels somewhat secluded being the last house on the road even though there are other cabins around. Asheville is around 40 minutes away give or take depending on which part you are going to. Recommend printing or take a picture of directions to the house because I lost signal for a few minutes going up the mountain in Wolf Laurel. Did not have an issue at the house. The house location allowed us explore the nearby small towns, the Asheville RAD and the Biltmore, as well as take in some time in the mountains. Would stay here again.
We loved our stay! Beautiful mountain views, spacious living room, awesome fire pit, and trail behind the house were great. We had plenty of room at the dining table for Thanksgiving dinner and game nights. We would definitely choose to stay here again!
This is our second time staying at this home, the neighborhood was very quiet, safe, and check in was easy. We had plenty of space in the home and enjoyed our daily trips to nearby Asheville and surrounding towns. The only down side and why I left 4 stars is that the A/c did not work during our stay and by the time the hvac mechanic could come out, it would have been more toward the end of our stay, so we decided to just tough it out and make the best of it, and have the hvac company come out after we left. I would stay here again, but I would make sure to ask the owner to double check that the a/c system works properly before I commit, especially during the hot months in NC. Thank you for your hospitality and this review is just for transparency and not intended to be negative in any way, otherwise we had a good time at your home.
Beautiful mountain house nestled among beautiful trees, very clean and well equipped property. The location is awesome, great place to relax and unwind in the lap of nature…
We loved our stay! We could walk right up the road to get on the access trail to the AT which is exactly what we were looking for. The house was very clean and comfortable. We hope to come back again for more hiking!
We had a great stay in Wolf Laurel. The house was so nice and well stocked. It had everything we needed. It is so peaceful there, but close enough to visit Asheville and The Biltmore. It was also a great place to hike. We liked the nature trail behind the house. The hosts Darrell and Marie were great and kept in touch to make sure the stay was perfect!
If you want peace and quiet, etc. and enjoy nature, this is your place. Communication with the owner was a breeze and very responsive with your questions. Why go anywhere else?
My family and I stayed at this beautiful mountain home over the Memorial Day weekend. This location is truly magical. A hidden gem. Far enough away that you get to get away from it all and dive into nature, but close enough to be able to seek out the culture of Asheville and surrounding areas. The communication from the owners was great and informative and the house was comfy and well-appointed. We wanted to stay longer.
