Magnificient corner unit!

  • 5 of 5

This 2nd floor corner unit has a spectacular view of over a mile of unspoiled beach and a large balcony from which to enjoy the view. The unit is spacious and cheerfully decorated.

Little Rock

Love the WindDrift

  • 4 of 5

The family loves the WindDrift condo complex and have stayed there before. This particular unit could use just a few things and it would be perfect. The master bedroom ceiling fan functions, but needs to be replaced. TV remotes work, but you can't tune to a channel by number (channel up/down through all channels). There are a number of cushions missing on the patio furniture. A couple of light bulbs were burned out in the dining table fixture (no repl bulbs in unit). None of these things prevented us from enjoying ourselves and would definitely stay in this unit again. No mechanical issues at all. Very relaxing and the location is great!

Owner's Response: Dear Little Rock, We are so happy to hear that your family loves our condo complex and you are a returning guests. We would have been happy to send maintenance to come balance the fan if it was wobbling or whatever was happening for you to think it should be replaced and those light bulbs could have been replaced in an instant. We keep a whole supply of bulbs in a cabinet in the kitchen for bulbs that go out during a guests stay, but we are also a phone call away to have these issues taking care of right away. We put on all entry instructions to please call us with any questions or concerns during your stay and I hate that we have to hear of this in a review. Glad you had a relaxing visit and if you come and stay again, remember that we are just a phone call or a quick text away to making your vacation a better.

We had a wonderful time at Windrift 212. There was no road noise in guest bedroom, Bed in Main bedroom was really nice. The unit was supplied with everything. And no wind blowing around the windows, The Manager was only a phone call away. We have stayed here four times and love it. We have already booked it for next year.

Good experience

  • 4 of 5

The condo was set up perfectly for our crew. The only downside was the master bed was pretty hard. We loved the location and the view.

Look before you lock in! Windows problems!

  • 2 of 5

We rented this condo for January and February 2017. The two stars are for the view, it's amazing! The condo itself is tired.

When we arrived the condo was dirty and in need of repairs. The blinds in the kitchen were barely hanging; the return air vent was held to the wall by one screw and rattled when in use; the popcorn ceiling in the bedroom was hanging down; the chain lock on the front door was broke. There was food left on the dishes in the cabinet that had molded! The tiles, used as baseboard were caked with dust/dirt. It took three weeks to get the repairs done.

The master bed is old and squeezed. The kitchen is under equipped. There is not enough silverware for large groups. You need to do the dishes after every meal. There was no cork screw!! We left one.

The worst thing about this unit is the windows. There are quarter inch gaps in them! The drapes move when the doors are closed. The wind whistle so loudly during storms that you must yell to talk to someone. It was difficult to keep the condo warm during colder nights. Because the windows are old and broken, they do not block any of the sounds from the highway. While our guest who slept in the back bedroom didn't want to complain, they did admit the road noise woke them during the night.

When I complained and asked the condo manager if they was any way to move to a different unit, she said were locked in. So look before you lock in your stay!

Owner's Response: Dear Robert, I should have gone with my gut feeling when you first booked the condo a year in advance, then called to cancel a week before your arrival due to a budget thing and then called again to reschedule right before your original check in date that something wasn’t right. I realize you are new to the snowbird world and this was your first winter stay, but anyone that rents a beachfront condo knows that there will always be a room that’s near the road especially in a three bedroom condo. When you first called to complain about the road noise in a bedroom and wanted to switch condos because you feared your granddaughter who hadn’t even come to the condo yet wouldn’t be able to take a nap, I knew that my initial gut feeling was dead on. The condo owner was in the unit before your stay stocking new kitchen essentials and linens, purchasing new balcony furniture and had a deep clean done before our 2017 season. I never heard of the condo being dirty until reading this review and I ask all of our guests to report any problems or concerns upon arrival. Your initial complaint was about the road noise and then when you were told you couldn’t switch condos, the complaints started flowing in. I had Jeremy over there in a timely manner to repair all of the issues day after day. Never was a complaint heard about molded dishes, no cork screw or dirty baseboards. When I came to the condo to discuss the switching of the condos, we talked about the doors and windows and the road noise and I explained that all beach condos would have a back room that face the road and that the road noise was something I’ve never heard a complaint on. We have snowbirds returning year after year to Wind Drift because of the beauty and simplicity of the complex, the spectacular views of the ocean and long stretch of white sand that we are so lucky to have on the Alabama Coast. I’m sorry that you couldn’t find the beauty in these things and I’m sorry you had a bad experience. I have learned that there are some people in life that will never be satisfied and will always have something to complain about. I’ve also learned that you can’t make everyone happy and to start listening to my gut! Life is too good to be so miserable! I hope to all of our guests reading this review, that you come to our condo looking to enjoy our home as much as we do and fully take advantage of the wonderful playground we have right outside our balcony door.
