Overview

About the property

Mountain Lodge, 5 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, 5000 sq feet (Sleeps 18)

Sitting at an elevation of 3,200 feet and overlooking Cold Mountain, this 5,000 square foot designer decorated mountain lodge serves as the central point for all the guests at East Fork Ranch. The home includes five bedrooms including two master suites, two spacious guest rooms and one “bunk” room (perfect for kids).

The Lodge includes a huge, open kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a Franklin stove surrounded by river rock, and a hand built, rustic wooden dinning table for breaking bread with family and friends. The Great Room is adorned with comfortable designer furnishings and dominated by an impressive stone hearth and fireplace.

The gathering front porch of the Lodge is well equipped with comfortable rocking chairs and an all-encompassing view of the property. On the level below the porch resides a sitting area, fire pit and stone barbecue for the preparation of a multitude of outdoor culinary delights. And on starry, starry nights, the kids will love catching fire flies in Mason jars or roasting marshmallow's and sitting around the campfire watching the flames dance in the cool, mountain breezes.

The Lodge at East Fork Ranch is one of two different properties available to rent. Our other property, The Graves Cabin (Property 414732) is also located just next door and can sleep 8. Each can be rented out on an individual basis, however if you would like to reserve both properties for a corporate retreat or large family gathering please contact us and we will work with you to accommodate your plans.

Western North Carolina is a paradise in so many ways. So much to do – so little time! Just look around and take in all the mountain wonders that abound here in the shadow of Cold Mountain and the Pisgah National Forest. This is truly God’s country in so many respects. The abundant wildlife, the rolling topography of the land, the rushing streams and rivers – all beckon those weary with the demands of city life – to sit still and take in a deep breath of clean, cool mountain air.

It is here, a midst the mountain laurel, Hemlock and Maple, here along the wooded walking trails, here at the side of a placid fishing pond or a rushing river, here under the evening stars and within the sounds of a crackling fire that you and your closest friends and family will remember, reflect and resolve that while you may travel back home, you will never truly leave this place.

amazing!

  • 5 of 5

I know I've read this in many reviews, but the pictures truly do not do it justice. Beautiful property...very clean...everything you need and more. The "sister" property where they have an open building with cornhole and ping pong right on the river with a rope swing...awesome! My father-in-law and others fished on the ponds everyday. Easy day trips to Asheville, surrounding towns, and sliding rock! (So much fun). Fantastic hiking right from the property. My ONLY recommendation would be a new coffee grinder and knives with a better sharpener (as you will want to cook in this well-equipped, high-end kitchen). Overall, 5 stars isn't enough!

A stunning piece of property and a well-appointed house!

  • 5 of 5

We just finished a week at East Fork Ranch, and it was a fantastic trip our family will remember forever. The house is both rustic in feel and yet quite modern in its conveniences. My ONLY caution with regards to the house is that the notion that it sleeps "18" is only reached by counting 2 to any bed larger than a twin. There are 5 bedrooms and 10 beds total, 5 of which are all in the same room in the form of 2 bunk beds with twins on top and queens on bottom, plus 1 queen fold-out couch. Also, there are 3 master suites which leaves only 1 full hallway bathroom to serve the 4th and 5th bedrooms, which theoretically house 10 of 18 possible occupants. We had 17, and I just think we stretched the layout of the house a bit. We addressed the bathroom issue by asking the kids in the bunk room to share whatever bathroom their parents were using.

All of that being said, we had a great week and the REAL star is the property itself. We had beautiful weather (morning and evening temps were in the 50s) and positively LIVED on that giant front porch (amazing views!) and down by the fire pit (think s'mores, roasted hotdogs, and fresh-caught fish). The kids tubed down the private river/stream and swam in the pond; there was fishing almost daily. We also made several trips to just-down-the-street Cold Mountain, which has a LOVELY swimming hole as well as corn-hole, ping pong, and a thrill-inducing rope swing. We took daily hikes in and around the property, visited Dan the horse (very personable), and could barely bring ourselves to take excursions off the property--there was just so much to entertain the 10 children (8 between the ages of 10 and 15) who were with us. If we come again (and the kids are already begging for an annual trip) I think we'll just also rent the cabin on the property so that we can spread out a bit more.

On a final note, the property manager--Neda--was SO helpful and responsive...this is just a great place and your family will make lovely memories here!

Beautiful property in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a family vacation and it was perfect . The lodge is beautiful and very spacious, there were 14 of us all ages from 17 months to 70 and we never felt crowded . The pictures do not do the lodge justice it is very well kept and decorated and everything provided that you would need. The location is perfect for all activities , we hiked went to the Biltmore in Ashville , white water rafting and more all within easy reach. The surrounding towns are so pretty and getting to the store for groceries is very easy.

Neda who looks after the house is great, she met us and showed us around and if we needed anything she answers right away and takes care of you. This is one of the nicest properties we have stayed in, definitely recommend it.

Fantastic! Very comfortable for large groups.

  • 5 of 5

The pictures don't do the lodge justice... it's much larger than it appears. There are 3 main common areas. (1) the kitchen/dining/family room with small wood stove, (2) the formal living room with pool table and enormous stone fireplace, (3) the huge deck.

We were a party of 4 couples and 4 children... the lodge is extremely comfortable. All couples had there own room and the kids slept in the bunk room. Great fishing within walking distance (pond and stream). Only thing to note is that the fire pit/barbecue area is shared with another house. This was never a problem. Actually a plus. Hope we can come back in the future! Thanks!!
