About this property
Family Mountain Lodge on 70 acres near Waynesville and Asheville
Sitting at an elevation of 3,200 feet and overlooking Cold Mountain, this 5,000 square foot designer decorated mountain lodge serves as the central point for all the guests at East Fork Ranch. The home includes five bedrooms including two master suites, two spacious guest rooms and one “bunk” room (perfect for kids).
**There is a home being built next door to our lodge which can cause some noise and extra cars during work hours**
The Lodge includes a huge, open kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a Franklin stove surrounded by river rock, and a hand built, rustic wooden dinning table for breaking bread with family and friends. The Great Room is adorned with comfortable designer furnishings and dominated by an impressive stone hearth and fireplace.
The gathering front porch of the Lodge is well equipped with comfortable rocking chairs and an all-encompassing view of the property. On the level below the porch resides a sitting area, fire pit and stone barbecue for the preparation of a multitude of outdoor culinary delights. And on starry, starry nights, the kids will love catching fire flies in Mason jars or roasting marshmallow's and sitting around the campfire watching the flames dance in the cool, mountain breezes.
The Lodge at East Fork Ranch is one of two different properties available to rent. Our other property, The Graves Cabin (Property 414732) is also located just next door and can sleep 8. Each can be rented out on an individual basis, however if you would like to reserve both properties for a corporate retreat or large family gathering please contact us and we will work with you to accommodate your plans.
Western North Carolina is a paradise in so many ways. So much to do – so little time! Just look around and take in all the mountain wonders that abound here in the shadow of Cold Mountain and the Pisgah National Forest. This is truly God’s country in so many respects. The abundant wildlife, the rolling topography of the land, the rushing streams and rivers – all beckon those weary with the demands of city life – to sit still and take in a deep breath of clean, cool mountain air.
It is here, a midst the mountain laurel, Hemlock and Maple, here along the wooded walking trails, here at the side of a placid fishing pond or a rushing river, here under the evening stars and within the sounds of a crackling fire that you and your closest friends and family will remember, reflect and resolve that while you may travel back home, you will never truly leave this place.
** Please note we do not allow weddings or receptions of any kind on our property**

This is the best VRBO property that we have ever had. It is comfortable with lots of amenities. It is spacious with lots of room to congregate. We were having a reunion at the nearby Springdale Golf Resort and lots of family dropped by our house to visit. This is the second time we have rented the house and we will probably rent it again for the next reunion in 2027.
The photos of this property does not do it justice. The lodge and property is absolutely amazing. We were able to fish on property, amazing hiking trails were a short distance away. If your looking for a peaceful place to getaway to, look no further!
What a wonderful property. It had everything we needed and plenty of space for gathering, bonfires with smores, and walks along the river. Thank you for being so accommodating for our family. We hope to be back.
This is the third year that we (17 of us) have been coming here. It is one of the most relaxing places for family of all ages. The weather is ideal and kids find plenty to keep them occupied away from electronics. Fishing is great and other places to enjoy are too far away. We'll be coming back.
Interesting property . Our group enjoyed the gorgeous views and fishing on the property. Some of the rugs need to be replaced and are becoming a slipping hazard.
The East Fork Ranch was a great venue for our 3-generation family get-together. The five bedrooms provided ideal sleeping arrangements for all, and the kitchen was amply stocked with dishes and cookware to serve our crowd of eleven. The kids enjoyed fishing for brim in the pond and playing in the river, and we all enjoyed evening bonfires in the fire pit. Visits to Waynesville and the Cradle of Forestry occupied the rainy days. Everything was as described in the vrbo listing.

Great Getaway Location
We had 6 couples travel to NC for a golf tournament. The challenge was to find a place where we all did not fell on top of each other. This house turned out to be the perfect solution. The size of the house is great but the porch and fire pit turned out to be great gathering places. This house gave us plenty of room to be apart but lots of time to be together. We also enjoyed the horses and pigs just a short distance away. We had a fantastic week at the East Fork Ranch.
This is no ordinary “cabin”, it is a beautifully decorated lodge on a gorgeous piece of property. Our family of 11 had plenty of room to play together and or rest quietly. The bedding, towels and dish-ware were immaculate. Some nook areas/windows/rugs were a bit dusty, probably due to construction next door. We had an incredible time and will be back. One family member had a walker and had a little issue w stairs and rugs, be aware if that if you have handicapped guest, but the place is wonderful and our family enjoyed every minute! Owners/managers were extremely responsive and we had NO trouble with anything while there. We have already looked at calendar for a return visit!
Property manager was very responsive. The property was beautiful, and the house large and fit our needs very well. The WiFi was very weak and needs some improvements.
We loved the place but were very disappointed that noisy, busy construction was ongoing right next to our bedrooms. We had not been alerted about this, and it was not quiet and peaceful. Very disappointing.
Our family loved this lodge and we had a delightful stay! The property, the house, the views, the ponds, the river, were all so much fun for us. You could spend the entire time there without going anywhere and have the BEST, most relaxing stay!! The river was so much fun for our small children because it was low enough & slow enough for them to safely wade in and play. The grand fireplace was truly enjoyed making our s’mores inside a couple evenings instead of having our little ones close to the pond after dark. I would like to say that the lighting could be improved and the older rugs were tripped over multiple times in the living room as they seem to slide easily. We made many amazing memories at the East Fork Ranch Lodge and we would highly recommend. ~A happy family clan of 11 from PA & AL….
We have been renting houses for Christmas for years now and this one is perfect. Some of my crew is getting older and a couple have serious knee issues. I have never found this size of house all on one level before. The view is grandiose. We live in the mountains and the ascension can be quite tricky. This was fantastic. Every commodity you can think of or necessity/want is handled. Communication is instant. House is comfortable and specious. If wanted kids can be in one room , adults in another. My husband enjoyed the fire pit to sit at and the dock to throw fishing poles off. The ambiance of the fireplace and the whole property was just perfect for my loved ones. Thank you for making it happen for us. Annette
Our extended family of 8 had a fantastic long weekend at the lodge. The place has a great space to hang together by a fire - great kitchen to have snacks and easy to prepare meals. The space around the house was a lot of fun to walk around -- everyone had a great time. Even went to the around the corner golf club to have a nice sit down lunch. Very nice setup.
Amazing place and the photos don’t do it justice! We sat in front of the enormous stone fireplace playing cards and reminiscing all evening and then did the same outside on the deck in the afternoon. Kitchen was fully stocked and wanting for nothing. We’ll definitely be back.
The cabin was very nice. It was well stocked with games and relaxing activities. The kitchen was also stocked with everything you could need from a toaster to pressure cooker. There were two gas grills and then a fireplace grill, too.
We spent most evenings on the front porch overlooking the pond. The pond, though small, had fish and turtles for our entertainment.
This was our 4th trip and we stayed 10 days in July. Great stay with family enjoying it as we did on our first trip many years ago. Everything was ready when we arrived and we had a wonderful visit. Even though we had some rain, it was cool and comfortable for all.
Property around the home had been cleaned up after flood last year, but the house was never in danger. It looked better than before the storm.
Highly recommended.
We celebrated our 50th Anniversary with all our kids and grandkids!! It was wonderful!!! Peaceful mountain ranch & the lodge was amazing. Could have sat on the porch for many more days!!! Cooked all our meals in the big kitchen and grilled on the deck…fished, campfire with s’mores and lots of walks, hikes and visits to Pisgah National Park waterfalls 🥰
Third time we have stayed here. The beauty, peace and solitude means a relaxing time for all. There visiting with family, fishing, hiking and the beauty of the area. We plan to return next year!
What an awesome property. Beautiful picturesque mountains and surrounding area. Pond in front for fishing, a creek very close by, and a peaceful place to walk or sit and relax.
We had a wonderful stay. Great property, house and owners. The place was huge plenty of room. The kitchen was great too. We had a lot of fun catching trout in the river. Would definitely stay here again.
My and my husbands family were able to gather here and enjoy a rare holiday all together. The cabin area was beautiful and located close the Asheville. We all got here very comfortably and were absolutely in love with the home.
This property is very large and had enough space to accommodate 6 adults, 5 teens and a 5 year old. The grounds are beautiful and my son and his friend enjoyed fishing in the ponds. You are roughly 45-50 minutes from Asheville, but the drive is not too bad. Neda and Elizabeth were very helpful and quick to respond to any question I had before and during our stay. Everyone in our group enjoyed this home and our stay. Thanks for sharing this home with us!
