The home was splendid, very good location, easy walk to the beach. The house itself was very nice, well designed and very attractive. Everyone who saw it wanted to know the link to rent it! We would rent it again if we went back!
This place was so beautiful and comfortable. The pool was delightful and the plants were stunning. The property management team was very responsive, which was greatly appreciated. It was an excellent place to work remotely.
The Villa surpassed my expectations. The bedrooms were comfy (each had its own en suite bathroom!), terrific wifi (I had to do some work), but most of all, the exterior living spaces were amazing. My group dined outside together every night and lounged by the pool or in the little outdoor living room. Lots of spaces for folks to either convene or be off on their own.

Keri, I’m so glad you and your friends enjoyed your stay at our home! You’re welcome back any time!
Wow! Villa del Mito exceeded all my expectation. The garden/pool area is so beautiful. Peaceful, but also alive with birds and amazing plants! Check in and communication were excellent. The place is clean and kitchen was well set-up. It's close to the beach and easy to get downtown. This was the perfect base camp to explore this vibrant, funky corner of Costa Rica. I will be back!
Everything was perfect except the water heat and low water pressure in the bathrooms was not very consistent through out our stay and checking in was not smooth
Villa Del Mito was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. We stayed here for about 25 days and it was magical. There are multiple different outdoor spaces that provided room for all four of my kids to roam and hang out when we weren’t walking to the beach. I personally loved sitting in the outdoor living room and watching the hummingbirds in the morning with my coffee. The cabana by the pool was great for morning yoga. The area was very safe and other than the sounds of nature, this was a very family friendly spot. The pool was refreshing, kept the kids busy, and was kept crystal clear. Wildlife was abundant, and we were greeted by a poolside sloth our very first day. Rooms were well insulated and the AC units in the bedrooms kept things cool and comfy at night. One of my favorite stays ever, cannot recommend enough. NOTE: If you are coming to Costa Rica for the first time, and have not stayed in a tropically dense place, wildlife is ABUNDANT. That means bugs as well, especially in outdoor living spaces. So be aware and prepare. :)
It was only a couple of nights - but what a gem of a place!
The first thing you see coming in the gate is the lush & gorgeous tropical landscape - all the greens with pops of color from the flowers - even cacao pods!
There are various outdoor ‘rooms’, spaces to sit alone or together - magic when lit at night. The kitchen is well appointed. Easy to cook. There even a nice outdoor grill space - though I didn’t use that.
The bedrooms are comfy, with air conditioning unit that provides a nice respite from the Costa Rican heat. The beds are a bit on the hard side for my taste, but I had good sleep - if was not uncomfortable at all. Nice bathroom space with toilet separate from sink & walk-in shower. Good closet space as well as little bedside units.
We did have to do some computer work - wifi is good. Had no problems working and conducting video calls. If you have the ability to be a work-nomad, this is THE place to go!
There’s a desk in the room with plenty of places to plug in/power up. There also a larger ‘office’ room. Me? I chose to work outside with a view of the plants, the pool, the humming birds, the occasional iguana & toucan.
The best thing? Taking a break from work to just float in the pool.
The Caribbean sea & beach is a short walk away, as is a nice little grocery.
We’ll be back - for part work-nomad & part adventure.
Lastly - when you go, make sure you float in the pool during a tropical downpour. It is awesome
We are a family of 6 adults and all immediately loved the space! The air conditioned rooms were perfect and we loved how they individually opened to the garden and pool area. We are from Colorado so we were concerned about the humid air but the fans in the outdoor space and the pool were great to keep us comfortable and a reprieve to the bedrooms at night to sleep were perfect. The location is great. We squeezed in a lot of fun and delicious food in a short amount of time. By the way, the kitchen is fantastic if you want to cook at home. We did grill one night but the restaurants were so delicious both in Puerto Viejo and Cuhuita we just kept going back to try more! We didn't have the need to contact the hosts very much but when we did, they were very responsive and helpful. We would absolutely return!
