We completed our cabin in Spring 2012 and want to make it available for others to enjoy! You can see by the pictures that we spent a great deal of time and effort making our cabin unique, inviting, and enjoyable for all seasons.
The cabin has 3 private bedrooms, all with very comfortable pillow-top queen mattresses, as well as a loft serving as the 4th bedroom in which there are 3 (again, very comfortable pillow-top) twin mattresses built into knee walls (we also have several spare twins available at the cabin as well). All bedrooms have light blocking shades as well. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a tub/shower and one with a built in walk-in shower.
Starting at the bottom, the walkout basement has one of the bedrooms, a living area with 60' flat screen TV (with an xbox 360 and many games) and a huge comfortable leather sectional, and an eating area. Just outside the door is a 7 person hot tub (covered), as well as an outdoor sitting area. Completing this area is one of the bathrooms, a mechanical room with washer/dryer, and a one car garage (a rarity in the area and particularly useful during the Sturgis Rally; please be aware we do store vehicles in this with the exception of the rally - if its use is needed please make arrangements with us prior to your stay (it is not available in the winter)).
The main level has 2 additional bedrooms, another bathroom, and a large open living area combining the kitchen, dining, and living rooms. There is another 42' flat screen TV above the large fireplace. Just off this level is a large deck, with natural gas grill, natural gas firepit with surrounding table, and a hanging ski lift chair (from the old Terry Peak red chair lift). An entry / mud room just off of the front entry completes this level and provides storage for boots / coats / etc.
The loft area, as described above, has 3 additional twin beds built into the knee walls, perfect for the kids or single adults, and a foosball table for entertainment.
Our cabin has all the amenities you would expect at home (maybe more!) - ample indoor/outdoor seating, comfortable beds, very nice linens, W/D, large screen TVs with satellite TV and gaming console, well-equipped kitchen, on demand hot water (no running out of hot water for showers with larger groups!), multiple eating areas, fire pit, outdoor grill, outdoor seating, ample parking, available garage - I'm sure I'm not listing everything, and you will not be disappointed!
If you are looking at cabins in this area on VRBO, I'm sure you are already well aware of the multiple recreational opportunities available in the area. Our cabin is ~ 1/4 mile from the main lodge, allowing very easy access to skiing/snowboarding, 8 miles to the gambling in Deadwood, 17 miles to Spearfish / Sturgis, and less than 10 miles to Cheyenne Crossing, the start of Spearfish Canyon.
*We require those groups staying at the cabin to be accompanied by at least one renter over the age of 30.

Why Justin chose Lead
Location, location, location! We chose this lot to build upon as it is very close to the main lodge, allowing our kids/grandkids to walk to the main lodge, offers a good view, and is easily accessible. The area offers ample recreational opportunities in every season, and is in the heart of the Black Hills for easy access to all the famous sites in the area.

Kid Friendly and Great Location
The house it self kept the kids busy while we weren't skiing. Legos, Foose ball, and a Xbox were all a big plus for my crew. The house layout was also very nice and it felt bigger than 2000 Ft. We will look to stay hear again in the future.
Great location and great layout for multi-family groups.
We all enjoyed our stay and will be back again. This lodge is perfect to enjoy in any season for large family groups and multi-family groups. The space is great to enjoy time together as well as time apart in the multi-level layout floor plan. I was torn wether I wanted to hit the slopes or lounge at the lodge.
Nice and tranguil area to get away, great views!
This home is lovely and has everything you need to make it a very comfortable stay. We did enjoy our holiday weekend, it's a very comfy cabin!
Just a few suggestions for in the future: The cabinets in the bathrooms are very cluttered and unorganized, you have to go to laundry room in the basement for towels to bathe and the refrigerator and freezer should be cleaned out prior to new tenants arrival; there was sticky and crusty stuck on residue in both which was kind of gross. The main floor shower water wouldn't drain because of a huge ball of hair in drain cover that wasn't ours. Yuck!
We are glad that Bambi and her family enjoyed the cabin. To respond to Bambi's issues: the towels are stored in the mechanical room as this makes the most sense (we keep numerous towels available), however prior to each stay 2 are put in each bedroom, and 2 wash cloths and hand towels are put in each bathroom. The cabin is thoroughly cleaned after each stay - we do leave condiments / spices / etc in the fridge / cabinetry for future renters. If there was a spot that was missed we certainly apologize. Same with the shower, it is checked each time. As far as the cluttered cabinetry - these are small vanities that we only store the necessary cleaning supplies and extra toilet paper, so I'm unsure how to respond to this. We take pride in renters having a great experience and make very clear that we are available for any questions or problems - unfortunately this review was the first that we heard of these issues. I encourage anyone considering our cabin to look through all of the available reviews as well as through our guestbook comments. Thanks
Black Hills Fun😎
Great cabin and convenient location to everything. The fire pit was awesome!
Very clean very nice.
Awesome stay. Would definitely recommend this cabin.
Great place to stay
Very nice and clean home. We had a great time with 9 of us staying there. Will be back.
Our cabin is located at the Terry Peak Ski Area, ~1/4 mile from the main lodge. If you are looking at this area, you know that we are a short drive from Mystic Miner, the other ski area, within 5 miles of the Lead Country Club if golfing is desired (many other courses within 1 hour), approximately 10 miles from Cheyenne Crossing, the beginning of Spearfish Canyon, and less than 10 minutes from the gambling and nightlife of Deadwood. Outdoor opportunities abound, including fishing, rock climbing, golf, incredibly scenic drives, all within 30 minutes. Rapid City is less than an hours drive as well, for those flying in or needing a larger town for shopping or the many events at the Civic Center.
