Renovated spring of 2018! The renovation included electrical updates, granite counters and new backsplash, rebuilding the front porch, new exposed aggregate patio, new carpet, total interior repainting, refinishing of the fir floors, new furniture...and more! This is my 1920 home in the historic Fort Grounds Neighborhood. It easily accommodates 10 people with three queen beds and one double, as well as a sleeping porch and floor space for many more. The front porch and deck are wonderful gathering places, but its proximity to the lake, City Park and downtown are the true jewels.

About David Groth
I take advantage of the location of my home, enjoying the Centennial Trail, walks downtown for coffee, and at least a couple of swims every summer day at the beach at the end of the street.
David Groth purchased this House in 1983
Why David Groth chose Fort Grounds
The location of my home, in the charming Fort Grounds Neighborhood, is a great asset, and you'll find the home clean, quiet, well-taken care and a comfortable place in which to relax.
What makes this House unique
Two gas fireplaces, a quiet gathering place on the patio...but most importantly, the front porch and proximity to Lake Coeur d'Alene, downtown, City Park, Silverwood, and the Centennial Trail.

Wonderful family getaway
What a charming house in an ideal location to easily walk to the lake, park and downtown area. The house was immaculate, well appointed, and comfortably accommodated our two families of 9 people total. We would love to return. Thank you, David!
Thank you, Susan. I’m glad I got to visit with you a bit. Glad the house worked well for you! David
Excellent spacious home in the best location!
This place is fantastic! Clean, quiet, and plenty of room to spread out. Stayed here with my family, we enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen, dinners outside on the patio, and the best nights sleep I have had in years. its an easy short walk to the beach that puts all the fun and recreation at your door step. The outdoor shower is great. Cannot wait to come back.
Thank you for sharing about your good experience in my home. I do hope you'll return and we'll try to make it even better.
Thank YOU for being a considerate, communicative and appreciative guest.
Perfect Location and Size for large groups and families!
Beautiful, large, and accommodating home. Fit comfortably our group of 12, all of who were beyond impressed by how clean and cute the home was. Perfect location and within walking distance to everything downtown. David was accommodating and willing to be flexible with check-in check-out times. Would definitely recommend:)
Thank you, David. It was great to host your group!
Fantastic location and beautiful home
We loved staying in this home. It was super close to the park and beach and we had everything we needed.
Thank you, Noelle. Glad the house worked well for you!
Enjoyed our stay at David's place!
We rented David's house and loft for a family get together. It was nice to have both of them next to each other. The house is very comfortable, two bedrooms upstairs and two bedrooms on the first floor, with a nice renovated kitchen, and a sitting area to play games or watch TV. We loved the location only a couple blocks to the lake. David is a great host, very responsive should you need anything. I would definitely like to stay here again next time we find ourselves in Coeur d' Alena. Thanks David for hosting us!
Within two blocks is a quiet beach, City Park and the Centennial Trail. It is a ten-minute walk to vibrant downtown, and Silverwood Theme Park is 25 minutes away.
